  • great job. i love this song.

  • i love this dude! is he still alive?

  • Yes, Boz Scaggs is alive and well and at 67-years-old he is still living in growing grapes in Napa County, California. He makes and sells his own wine.

  • great music and video. i would like to know if the turntables are coming back and if so, which one you would recommend? thanks, larry glenn

  • @TheLarryglenn -- Larry, to me they never went away!! In my opinion, the best ever turntable is the Technics SL-1200MK2....but you've got to have a great cartridge and stylus to go along with it. My favorite brand is Pickering.

  • I had this album, used to listen to Habor

    light alot.

of course this was one of many vinals I had from the motown era. lots of earth wind &fire, commodores, switch on & on. but once they stopped selling vinals my idiot ex threw themall out! I was soooo upset. that was my history!

  • Very Motown influenced. Great tune !!

  • Oh, the memories this song brings back...I was just a teenager...so long ago! Thanks!

  • great song!!

  • From the land of the Bluenose...from a simply time!

  • What a awesome tune- glad I saw you in person - nothing last forever - just the way it goes - they can't take that away from me - ever

  • what a cool tune it's so true

  • Man, thanks, this is a real time warp to the 70's, For a second there it made me dizzy. Really cool....miss those days! Thanks ? Mr. DJ.

  • Great upload. Thanks Music Mike! Love Boz; he's "The Man."

  • Thanks for the upload, Mike!

    One of my all-time favorites!

  • I play Music Mike's tunes from my laptop, into a cheap Numark DJ mixer, then into a 1 watt Ramsey FM stereo transmitter. I receive it on an old 1977 Fisher RS-1035 stereo receiver with some old Polk 3/way speakers (wood grain & all!) Mike's music rips the roof off of my house!

  • @musicmike2 m/m do have any video of his song?

  • @mymd11 ---no video....just the one I made.

  • Great tune, I saw him play the whole Silk Degree album at the Boston Garden .. will never forget that concert.

  • HOOAH!

  • music mike, would you like a piece of chicken? great sound- i'm dancing down in the old akron u chuckery december 1975!!

  • I saw fleetwood mac, the eagles and boz scaggs opened in foxboro mass in the 70's.........awesome concert

  • thank you my man.. great music and great audio. do you have any more music as in the doobie brothers" eyes of silver? i dont know how Boz is not an icon.?? thanks, buddy

  • Great sound and an underappreciated song. Should've been a much bigger hit.

  • Hey, I hear a song at work, does Boz have a song with lyrics like "Girl you've got me acting like a fool" or something like that

  • i love your introduction Music MIke....keep em coming....I love this jam.......

  • Jeff Porcaro, David Paich, Steve Lukather, Joe Porcaro, and I can't recall who else is on this album. Jeff never played a dud track.

  • Hi Music Mike, do you tell me if there's an internet site where I could obtain informations about who records the songs? The technical datas of records... who played drumms to this or that recorded song... Thanks a lot. Cezar Belmonte (from Brazil)

  • @cenaga3 ---- Can anybody out there make a suggestion for Cezar for a good site to try?

  • @cenaga3 maybe try allmusic.com

  • can i have your turntable???

  • I used the have a turntable that looks almost like the Pioneer Mike is using, but then I upgraded in the early 80's, beforfe cassettes tapes were the prefer medium.

  • great music and from a really great individual. thanks mike. i really wish we still had this music today. kids today dont have a clue what they are missing.THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!! keep 'em coming my man....hey man, can i borrow the album and your turn-table? i might need to borrow some needles too... LMAO

  • great music and from a really great individual. thanks mike. i really wish we still had this music today. kids today dont have a clue what they are missing.THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!! keep 'em coming my man....

  • If this track had been released after lowdown it would have been a top ten hit easily. When I was 7 I had this album and still love it.

  • who didn't dance their skinny mid-70's ass off to this one? wild cherry and brothers johnson had big dance hits right about then, too, right mike? oh if i had to be locked into a time slot it would be the 70's! wow did we have some music and great times then. the only phone i owned was on my kitchen wall and a speeding ticket cost $30 or $40 (and didn't turn you into a second-class citizen)!

  • @swimmerB0B not to start any great debate but yes, people were slender in the 70's. Its just science, measurements of the body mass index have increased wildly since. Proof, that women in the 70's were hotter than modern day women. ;-P

  • Music Mike RULZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^_^

  • great sound quality man. I uploaded a bunch on vinyl to youtube but it was taken down.

  • You da man!

  • Great recording! nice job. Boz Scaggs is one of my favorites.

  • LOVE the man, and after 30 years of follwing him I met him, shook his hand and told him his music is magic. Love the Boz!

  • Loved this album the first time I heard it 76 and I still love it.

  • Hello ,music Mike , how do you get such great audio here on youtube?

  • @glenmann62 ----Thanks for noticing.....but, it's a secret.

  • @MusicMike2 ...Cmon Mike , Buddy Pal , let me in on at least this , are you actually using real records or are they mp3,s ?..I have always loved the actual sound of records because of their analog recording compared to digital format that is to clean and looses all the nuances that analog can only record! If you are using records for these videos it will finally settle the age old question of what is a better sounding format!... I hope it,s records? could you let me know?..Thanks Glenn

  • @glenmann62 ----OK, that part I can tell you....yes...Records.....on 90% of my stuff. There have been a few times that the quality of some "45's" have just not met with my audio standards.....and I could not find a decent sounding copy....so I decided to either use the vinyl album version or a CD version. But, my goal is to deliver the best high quality sound that is possible from vinyl. Check out my recent vinyl upload of "I Got To Know" by Starbuck. I think it sounds exceptionally good.

  • BOZ SCAGGS/IT'S OVER もう、終わったんだ、終わったんだってば。何だ、この寂しさは…。

  • It seems like EVERYONE had this album in 1976. This, and "Songs in the Key of Life".

  • @shmuli9 And Frampton comes alive

  • @yarekhunt I had that one, too... "I Want Yoooooo, to show me the way..."

  • @shmuli9 oh WOW - Songs In The Key Of Life - that was Stevie Wonder's master epic!!! - I played that album over and OVER and over!!

  • @christheone8773 Yep... I loved that album...

  • This is great~I used to listen to this album on my pioneer stereo my parents bought me

    for Christmas!

  • I love this song. It's my favorite by the Boz.

  • The more I listen to this album...it's scarey how many great songs they put on Silk Degrees....Boz and Toto were a damn good team !!!!

  • saw him in Cincinnati in 77'. He introduced this song as "the love song when the good is gone, & you're trying to decide who gets the house, who gets the sony, etc... In the middle of the song, a guitar string broke. He said "oh shit", replaced the string, & picked up on the same note he stopped at. I thought he was so cool! Great voice, great musician! Look forward to seeing him in Florida in April.

  • cool...

  • Not wishing you away any time soon but could you please add me in your Will to become owner of that Music collection behind you..I could barely hear what you had to say for looking at all those Cds Lps tapes..Wow..a Music Lovers paradise..nice...I had this Lp when i was in the military back in 1976-77..what years..I also like Look What you done to me..which actually from the same Lp

  • i like this introduction.good job.

  • @cosmicrider287 wow i remember them been a long time thanks

  • Man, Silk Degrees was the first album I played on our brand new spanking quadrosonic hi-fi stereo in 1976! hahahahaha! Great album. Had tons of good times in house parties back in the day

  • this reached #38 and Convoy by C.W. McCall was #1. forget the charts. Pure Pop Classic. voice, backup singers, piano energy. would have been a huge hit if released after Lowdown

  • top signs that its TRULY over

    1. instead of calling you "baby', she calls you "punk"

    2. she no longer wants flowers and candy, she wants CASH

3 She gives you her "new" phone number - its really PIZZA HUT

4 The baby she was carrying arrives and its a healthy oriental- you're white tho

  • everytime i hear the beginning of this song, it's so similar to "Sooner or Later" from Grass Roots. Ever any claims from either side?

  • @tram602 ---- I never put those two together....but you are right. Good ear!

  • @MusicMike2 the same exact opening chord progression...kinda funny

  • Music Mike - you read my mind. I was just thinking "hey, remember Boz Scagg's first real hit? You know, the one before Lowdown? Well, here it is! Thanks!

  • MusicMike2 tHANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR MUSIC SIR IS EXCELLENT THANK YOU.

  • One of my faves by Boz....the sound quality here is awesome! Gives me chills :)

  • Thanks, Mike

  • Boz at his vocal best there.... Thanks Music Mike

  • I haven't heard this song in years and never knew who did it, or even the title. This is nice jazzy-rock piece and one of my favorites. Great post simply for the sheer "listenability" of the song.

  • i used to play this in a night club everynight in south boston ma............

  • @bobby1531 You may remember Eagle 93.7 from the mid-1990s. They used to play this a lot and I enjoyed it. Whiles tastes and styles may change, good music, like all things timeless, shall remain.

  • I remember this song!!! You got me singing this song.... Brings back memories...

  • I absolutely love this song.

  • Boz Scaggs had a couple of songs on the radio in 1971 from an album, "Moments", that came out that year - "Near You" and "We Were Always Sweethearts". Both can be found on YouTube, although one is in a 2-fer with another song from that album. Although "Moments" was also on Columbia, it and the songs on it were never resurrected after Boz became a star with "Silk Degrees". Although not disco, both have aspects of some of his later hits.

  • Thanks for the post Mike. I have spun this for a few lovelies in my day. One of my favorite tracks from Silk Degrees.

  • it is almost sacrilege to say but... this wasn't one of bozs better, least of his best, songs.

  • @abolof love the way you worded this. I always hear this in the grocery store. Love it.
