Does anyone else realize this is a remake? America sang the original for the Rankin/Bass movie "The Last Unicorn" which is based on the book by Peter S. Beagle. I like Groove Coverage, but I have to admit that America's version is much prettier.

Through all theories, Unicorns have been thaught to be Deer, Goat's, Horse, Gazelle, Oryx and even Wild ox and Rhinoceros. They didn't become the beautiful graceful white horse and changed to a creature of 'purity' until Christianity came into play in the 3rd century because the church did not handle the one horned adulterous creatures.

@RavenABlack even the Christian depiction AFAIK was of a creature with the body of a horse, but a tail like a lion and hooves like a goat, with a long twisted horn like the narwal. Equines are pretty unique in that they have a single toe, but all other hoofed animals have two or more. I suppose the inclusion of split hooves for a unicorn was to grant the legendary animal more agility for one thing and for an other because all other horned beasts have split hooves.
