@nathan96berry no, not technically. Aussie Commandos are in the Army and are called the Army Commando regiments (1 and 2 cdo), the "SAS" is actually called the SASR - or Special Air Service Regiment.
I'm not totally clued-up but it's all something to do with Aussies being in the original SAS in WWII, then also in the newly-formed 22 SAS in the fifties in Malaya, and they split off and, being part of the commonwealth, them and New Zealand started their own SAS units.

Do I know that any or all of these soldiers in this video here are SASR? No. I do however guess that the portions that do not show faces are SASR personnel.

@SRSpoony i dont realy care what SFGS is, all i know is our SAS have proven them selfs as the best whilst in Vietnam/east Timor(x2)/Afghanistan/ Iraq/Malaya. The SAS dominated in Vietnam as the deadliest unit in that war. their tactics are born on limited air support and have a strong strategic build up unlike most SF these days who rely on constant support. im quite happy for them to bug out of Afghanistan, we have given the US enough help.

I remember when the term 'embedded journalism' was first touted at the beginning of the iraq invasion. The commercial networks raved on how it provided an unprecedented view of war but, the it was far from the truth. The footage was heavily censored by the military and what we actually got was western propaganda. I'm glad my adobe flash plugin crashed.

@SRSpoony i dont realy care what SFGS is, all i know is our SAS have proven them selfs as the best whilst in Vietnam/east Timor(x2)/Afghanistan/ Iraq/Malaya. The SAS dominated in Vietnam as the deadliest unit in that war. their tactics are born on limited air support and have a strong strategic build up unlike most SF these days who rely on constant support. im quite happy for them to bug out of Afghanistan, we have given the US enough help.
