  • I also have pcos and today been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder...I feel disgusting, have had pcos for 5years and it's just getting harder I'm really struggling and no one understands!I think your amazing!thank you x

  • I think you are totally beautiful by the way. Just my two cents.

  • I have PCOS too, it's frustrating and hard to deal with. It makes me feel like less of a woman. You make me feel less alone though, thank you. :)

  • (CONT...)

That is what I thought just looking at some of the comments. Not your video :)

I probably should have mentioned that!

Wish you all the best with your PCOS! Hope everything is going well.

I was only diagnosed a few months ago and I can definitely agree that it is difficult to lose the weight - but its not impossible. I'm only on Yaz + acne medication and I'm cutting out almost all white carbs, sweets and especially no soda! Weight training is also a lot more efficient because the more muscles you have, the higher your metabolism is. Try to mix up your cardio with some weight training. I've lost 3kg in a month... its slow going but I'm getting there! (88kg -->85kg)

  • @love2akiko Wow thank you SO very much for spelling out those tips, they are helpful and motivational, not only for me but for a lot of people watching, Im sure! I have stopped metformin (made me too sick) but I remain on YAZ and some natural vitamins. I am cutting out most carbs and sweets too, its hard but not impossible, the south beach diet is really great for that & very manageable :) I hope you're doing well too & best of luck to you too!

  • It makes me sad when I see people that have to suffer with this syndrome because doctors don't tell them what is going on. PCOS is not a death sentence - you can have children and you can get the symptoms under control.

  • B.o.b

  • I think you're pretty and I love your eye makeup! I was recently diagonised and I'm WAY younger than you. I lost weight with Weight Watchers and it really works b/c you can eat whatever you want and lose weight. I wish you the best.

  • I have been diagnosed two years ago with PCOS and I have heard so much different things about this. My primary doc acturally told me not to worry about it and put me on birth control because I was not having periods at all. I have seen two more doc since then cause I want to have a child (long story)but tonight I decided to do some research about it and realized that this is a serious condition. THank you for sharing your story.

  • I really understand you. ive had pcos and have struggled with my weight and have had to go to rehab for an eating disorder . pcos sucks im really struggleing with it myself to xx hope you do well

Im really sorry you have suffered with so much!

  • This feels like a good time to say it: your videos have helped me a lot. I'm 17, currently struggling with depression and adhd and self-image, and it just helps to see someone struggling with similar problems as me. I love you. You're absolutely gorgeous and an amazing person <3 :]

  • I was just recently diagnost with pcos a few months ago and i am now on the pill acne meds i always had trouble with acne irreg. periods weight loss, acne! I can never say that enough and it sucks because i am only 13

  • I went to a doctor he put me on the pill & said it was just my age;later he told me he'd put me on the pill because I had PCOS, he said I would likely never have children &my weight gain was likely part of it. It was the worse experience of my life & I had to learn everything on my own. I've not been back to see a gyno since, now I just go to my family doctor for checkups. Your very braving to share this, until last year I had never told my friends about it.

  • Is anyone using herbs?

  • Kudos for being courageous and sharing your story....I don't feel so alone! <3

  • you're extremely pretty - keep your head up girl. I'm having my scan soon x

  • hey thanks for the sharing

i have pcos also, i had my diagnostic when i was 16, and i have an bmi of 20 so don't put it all on weight! but i am participating on a study on it and how your diet may help to control the symptoms and yes the diabetic diet is good particularly the integration of lean fish (all types of white fish) so try it! and good luck

    (excuse my english i'm french!)

  • I think I have it. Ive always had bad acne and nothing has ever gotten rid of it, I'm getting really bad pains my ovaries and hip bones, (it really hurts) my weight isn't bad... but Im not happy with my body let me put it that way. Im so depressed and scared, thank you for posting this video.

  • ok.... so you and i are the EXACT same person. I always try to lose weight IE,, fasting, raw, vegan and it always comes back, then i got diagnosed with PCOS! i mean it.. what you are saying is EXACTLY what happened to me.. so strange! If i sat and told you my story, it would be your story . Nice to know that i am not alone. <3

  • Hi :) I also have PCOS and one thing that has been helping is taking extra calcium.

  • i have just been diagnosed with pcos, yesterday actually. and im super scared. all these things i have read about complications with pregnancy and all, it scares me to death. i start the meds next week...any suggestions?

  • it's not the carbs it's the gluten to be more percise. you need a gluten-dairy-sugar free diet.

  • Eating/food issues + depression is horrid. I used to have bulimia but now I'm pretty sure I have a selective eating disorder. I only have a few foods I'll eat and if I try to eat something I don't want I just end up gagging and vomiting (not on purpose).

I've always been under the assumption that having a complete lack of proper nutrition contributes to my mood instability. The body can't function properly when it's deprived of the substances used as "fuel". Sucks when you just can't eat.

  • Thanks for letting me know I am not alone.

  • I feel like I'm listening to my own life story. I've struggled with self-injury, anxiety, eating disorders and an array of other issues. Right now I'm going through trying to conceive a child with PCOS and it doesn't really help the feelings of inadequacy everytime I realize that I've failed month after month. You aren't alone!

  • kristen - Bad girls club!

  • Wow that last comment was just awful! Good luck with your journey. Stay positive!

  • @davidpetersonakashar you're a dick.

  • That being said I know how difficult it is to feel "different." I too have the condition, and I brought the symptoms onto myself by being a fat pig for years. I'm now at a healthy weight for my height, and I have nearly eliminated the symptoms. Male hormones are stored in fat, so the less you weigh, the fewer symptoms you'll have to deal with. If you're an emotional eater, seek a 12 step program. But please, for the love of God, do not lean on the crutch of PCOS as the reason for your size.

  • You need to do your research. Weight problems LEAD to the surfacing of symptoms in people who have the gene. Some women with the gene who controlled their weight after puberty do not show signs or symptoms. Eating properly, (not exceeding a proper caloric intake for your body type) and exercising is the only relief. PCOS isn't Hypothyroidism or Prader–Willi syndrome, you are not overweight because of PCOS. In fact, research has shown that being overweight can cause the condition to surface.

  • tough stuff.. I think not drinking alcohol is important cause it messes with your blood sugar. I also take a tablespoon of dulse everyday on my salad. It has a lot of essential vitamins and minerals for proper thyroid functioning which can help stabilize your hormone production.

  • I have always wondered if I have this or not. All my friends and family members are positive that this is what causes my irregular periods, hair growth on my neck and thighs, back, stomach, hard acne break outs around the edges of my jaw and neck, etc. I get depressed sometimes for no reason too..I will just wake up feeling like my whole world is crashing down on me.

  • I have PCOS, too. It really sucks because I gained 24 pounds in 6 months.

  • i was diagnosed with PCOS and im on the same medicine, diet, and everything. it really is a hard thing to deal with and i worry about the future things pcos can bring. your video really helped bc its nice to know someone else is going through the same thing and that im not alone

  • I've got self harm inssues, too. I wonder if there is a link between self harm and insulin resistance/pcos related depression? :-/

  • I have it, too. Argh. It's a nightmare. I take cinnamon to induce ovulation and curb my insulin-it works! Pretty amazing.

  • ugh gurl, i feel your pain.

I was next to starving myself and running on my treadmill for an hour a day and losing nothing :(

    pcos and thyroid issues here.

  • Thank you for sharing your very personal story!! I love your videos and I really relate to your borderline, anxiety and PCOS and self injury.. I have all four :) I have been dealing with PCOS sice I was 12. Thank you again you are truly an inspiration... I go up and down in weight as well and people can be so rude but you are beautiful. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Peace and Love :)

  • I have also been diagnosed with PCOS and i have not been able to find a doctor to help me with it. I have tried YAZ and i can not take it due to it messes up my emotions even more than normal. I did try Metformin but due to change of insurance i had to switch doctors and the one that i have now does not want to put me on it. what other medications are you on?

  • May I ask you why your hair is so nice? Did you experience any hair changes through your life? That's my problem and it has made me very unhappy over the last years. I cut it many times.

You could PM me if you feel more comfortable with that.

PS: You say you feel like shit - I couldn't tell, really!

  • We are cysters =) keep the check on the thyroid mine went out 6 moths ago and 2 yrs ago it was fine...

  • Exciting announcement huh? You getting married? Who wouldn't fall in love with that lovely hair?

I'm not sure if I'm infertile or not. I had radiation exposure before which can definitely cause issues. Oh well, it hasn't been getting in the way of me promoting G-rated shock value. It might be a while before my channel strays away from that kick.

  • im 15, i just got diagnosed with poly. right before christmas of last year so about 4ish month so far, iv been taking metforman and have lost 25 pounds, its been a tuff journey but i have a lot of people that keep me incouraged, i wish u the best

  • I like your hairstyle

  • I have PCOS and just started metformin. thanks so much for sharing!!

  • I just had to cut out sugar and things like bread, white pasta (not completly thou) TRUST me you will lose weight just keep away from all the high refined sugars and carbs and it will fall off u...Sugar is total evil in pcos because sugar drives n high insulin and high insulin drives high testosterone which = pcos.....The metformin helped...My life has changed thru something so simple as diet and tablets..Goodluck hun

  • I lost weight went on Met and my symptoms went away..for me all i had to do was sort my diet out :)

  • What kind of diet did u go on???

  • Happy late birthday.:) my new is terriable so far . So far I had one surgery, I have another one this week. I'm probably going to jail too.

  • @jon2xu

Going to jail for being a fatty?

  • You're such a beautiful girl, try not to be upset and look at the positives. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago too. It has helped a lot for me to read forums like soulcysters which is the best site i've been on. You can talk to so many other pcos users and you can chat about all different things. Its good that we've been diagnosed early and we can make an early start to some healthy life changes :)

  • I'm 22, and I got diagnosed with PCOS this year. I started yaz 2 days ago, and ill start metfornin and a few weeks. I feel really depressed too. PCOS SUCKS! I don't even like to go out anymore, but hopefully it will get better with time. I've read that a lot of girls have been able to overcome this! So, hopefully we can be one of those girls too! Good luck <333

  • omg! thats quite personal thanks so much for sharing im sure thats very difficult for you. ;[ hope all goes well tho!!!! xoxo

  • I wonder if PCOS is perhaps what I have... I don't think so because I don't have any symptoms. Except for a few skin tags (1 or 2) on my armpit and not even having a menstrual cycle at all. I haven't for like, 4 or 5 months or longer. Do you know how you can test for that?

  • @RetroSimplicity

Wow yours sounds like my issue.

Cept I go eight monthes without having anything, 6 on a good year.

Do you have any facial or neck hair growth, and or pains?

  • We're the same age and I was diagnosed with PCOS about two years ago. It wasn't easy, but it answered many MANY unanswered questions. I lost the weight, got my eating cleaned up, and am back to being healthy-ish. I don't have to take anything but Yaz now. You can lead a perfectly normal life if you make a few changes.

I really hope everything goes well. :-)

  • for me it's not about a few changes because I've revamped my entire life and haven't been able to lose the weight. Guess its harder for some people. How did you do it, just the normal way (diet and exercise?) guess some people need more than that, but Im glad you got yours under control! It's inspiring.

  • I JUST GOT DIOGNOSED WITH pcos.. i JUST STARTED METFORMIN 500 MGS 2X A DAY.. i DEF COULD USE A FRIEND

  • I have to take lithium for bipolar disorder and that makes me gain a lot of weight too. And what sucks the most is that my mom keeps telling me i'm lazy and i should go on a diet and exercise more etc.

  • but your not even that big... I would love to be as small as you are.

  • there is a large possibility that i may have PCOS and i am just wondering that tests you have to go through to find a diagnosis.

  • one thing though, the cinnamon keeps your insulin from spiking after meals like it usually tend to do. what that does is that it tells your body to burn the calories instead of keeping them. Now, i'm not sure how good cinnamon affecting your insulin levels in your body may be because you said you need to keep a similar diet as a person with diabetes. You might want to look in to that...

  • Happy b-day, srry i said it late, i just heard about it :P Try not to do anything extreme anymore or fast as much because it screws with your hormones and body. If you fast a lot your body will learn to keep calories more too, instead of burning em. Start putting some cinnamon in your food and make sure you eat fruit in the morning if you haven't yet... I with you the best with your health. If you want more tips i've already done research so i might be able to help some.

  • Don't you notice a trend with some of us... eating disorders, SI, major depression, PCOS. I'm exhausted. I'm 24 and I am tired of life, tired of health problems, and of my boddy letting me down (which is no doubt by my own fault). Regardless, I don't know what to tell myself to keep on fighting, because it just doesn't seem worth it.

  • the love of the others and the fact that your friends and family couldn't work completely right without you ever again... good enough reason?

  • It isn't. I have no friends due to years of depression and isolation. My parents are dead, so family is not a factor. I could easily disappear and have it be of no consequence to anyone.

  • i feel the same way and im only 15 ..... doesnt reely leave much hope 4 the future...

  • hey I have pcos too, I started the raw vegan diet one month ago, and so far I lost a couple of pounds, I feel better and I got my period, why didnt the raw vegan diet work on you? did you at least feel better, I'm getting worried that this will not work, I have never gone on any medication and I really want to beat this, I agree with the low carb diet, I also am insulin resistance most PCOS patients are, but thanks for the video and I hope all us women with PCOS beat this thing together, peace

  • Be careful with Yaz, its linked with heart problems, thats why I stopped taking it.

  • I am just getting over cancer... I applaud you for sharing this video.

  • your soooooo pretty your a hotty :D

  • Christie, we are so alike!

thyroid/hormone issues run in my family too and i've struggled with SI and weight issues for a while.

i was recently diagnosed with PCOS too.

i admire your courage and bravery for posting such a personal video.

  • wow, i too have PCOS...you can beat this hun...it's been so rough for me. it truly has.

  • OMG thank you for posting this. I also have PCOS too. I always felt so alone but now I feel that im not the only one

  • I'm so glad to see more videos from you lately! This was really interesting and informative. I'm going to go look up PCOS now. I've always felt I had such similar issues as you and this makes me wonder if maybe I have PCOS....not quite sure...gotta look it up. I'm excited about your next video. I have an idea of what it might be...I think! As always, you're friggin gorgeous!!!

  • That's so weird...all the symptoms you are describing...I have. My period is so irregular and unpredictable and my ovaries hurt all the time... O_O I struggle with weight too but I didn't know it was related to ovarian stuff. I think I'll do more research. Thanks for sharing...I might get checked out too.

  • HUGS Thanks for sharing!

    Oooh.. An announcement, cant wait!

  • I hope you beat this. I have watched your videos for probably a year or so. Like when you started. And they have really helped me. I hope you had a great birthday!

  • im prayin for ya girl. your so brave. and strong. luv ya. =]

  • hi girl oh man im sorry to hear this and wish you luck on this and ya know it in a way like u said is answers for you. Your lookin pretty here lovin that blonde hair of yours! Ok good luck n take care.

  • happy late b-day :D i was dinost with thyroids when i was younge and they just put me on new meds that kind of help lose pounds but not much and i do the same as you i fast and only eat up to 300-600 cals a day sents i was 18 and my weight go's up and done all the time [i really hate it] but in the last 2 1/2 years its gotten alot worse of my body image great video and i really hop you fill better and the meds help :)

  • Good luck, Christie! You can do t!! Thank you for making such heartfelt and inspiring videos! Your amazing!

  • I take metformin too! :) I'm 16 though

  • I've been watching you for long enough to know you're strong! I believe you can get through this, I believe in you. Keep the faith and God bless (I wouldn't be here without Him!) ;) xoxo

P.S. is it your birthday? love ya

  • wow that is not good to hear.

i was diagnosed with diabetes and thyroid problems a few months ago and i am no metformin and it is not some thing fun to be on.

staying on a blood sugar friendly diet is not easy either low carb high protein sounds simple but some times it is really hard.

anyway good luck i hope you can manage your pcos and not have to stay on meds for a long time and stay healthy.

  • Oh girly! I am so glad you made this video. I have received so many messages from other girls who have this too. It is very devastating & overwhelming I wish I was closer to you so we could fight this 2gether. In the future I want to talk about how PCOS can cause EDNOS there is alot of research on it. When I started reading about it,, honestly it could explain both of our issues with food 100%. I am proud to be friends with someone who is such a positive force on Youtube & life in general.

  • how do you revamp your eating lifestyle when you have an eating disorder? im very curious how you have done it, everytime i try to change, example bulimic to vegan, i just end up making myself even sicker..

  • your really beautiful, i hope u know that :)

  • your so brave :) good luck christie :) xx

  • Sooo. yeah I understand how you are feeling. Being diagnosed. But its also nice not to feel like I am the only one that this crap happens to. Like one thing after another. lol. But thank you for this video

  • I hope you read this. I found out that I have PCOS about a week ago. I was diagnosed with borderline this past june. And I am 18 now. It didn't sink in at first that I had anything wrong with me but now its hitting me and I am just starting to panic more and more about this. I havent been back yet since I have been diagnosed. I go next week to talk about my treatment options and whats going on with my period, because I havent had one since this past July. Sooo..I know how you are feeling

  • I hope everything evens out for you.

  • Thanks for sharing about your PCOS is very personal. I hope you get better take care :)

  • thank you for making this. i was diagnosed PCOS at 13, and i also am going through a really bad time being drained and stuff. i understand perfectly the whole thing about being diagnosed with en eating disorder, yet being heavier than the rest and yes it is hard with this to keep weight off because of hormones but i have tried to adjust

  • all i wanna do is troll ur video, but thanks for touching on this subjection, n/c i feel the same way, I just wanna look good naked...! but it's so hard,... I luv u!

  • You do know that your psychological issues could be caused by your PCOS, don't you? This hormonal imbalance could be the root cause of all your health issues, and if you tackle it, maybe you'll get better on all levels.

    :)

  • Oh, and, a simple antiandrogenic anti-baby pill will do the job of your billion of drugs just fine once your hormonal balance is back on track.

  • ii love you .. =)

    I hope you get better .. x

    Oh and happy bday

  • I hope u get better x

  • Keep your chin up hun. You're a tough cookie,I have faith in you. ;-)

  • happy bday

  • :O

it said on wiki PCOS causes depression, is this the reason you've been depressed in the past? I mean if you manage to get everything under control in regards to this medical condition, will many of your mental issues go away with it?

  • Hot tea can slash your risk of kidney cancer by 15 percent, from review in the International Journal of Cancer.

  • I´m really impressed how you manage to share all this personal things with us - and I´m glad you do so. Cos you´re really helping us! Because of you I could finally stop self injuring and stuff...I hope you keep on fighting all this and I´m sure some day, perhaps not far away, you´ll make it! Thank you and all the best <3

  • what is PCOS ? .. english isn't my native language :\

    happy 25th birthday

and btw .. u inspire and help me and alot of people ,

    god bless you

  • thankyou so much for sharing that with all of us :)

i have graves dissease whitch is similar in a way... over active thyroids and i have slight weight issues and stuff like that...

    thanks!

  • My dad has graves disease and that's originally what I thought I might have - seems like for now I don't, cross my fingers that it doesn't develop later, but I know what my dad's been through with that and it isn't any fun. Thanks for your support. xo

  • yea it is so not fun =( its one of the main reasons i started self injury a while ago and stuff... but i hope yu keep the vids up! they are so helpful!

  • Happy 25 th birthday.

  • thank you very much :)

  • I lost like 50 pounds. i dont know how I did it. i eat less. I look funny walking down the street my pants fall down. hope it works for you. thanks for posting.

  • It's so brave of you to post this video, I hope your year gets better . Your videos have really helped me in the past so thankyou

  • thank you for that, and thank you for watching. Take care <3

  • thanks for sharing your story and experience. i know it's very hard to deal with. since meds/weight gain/ect. totally effect your life. i was diagnosed at age 16 with multiple cysts in my kidneys and have had a kidney transplant, and it makes it hard to adjust to changes like that. i hope you will start to feel better and thank you. you are such an inspiration.

    <3

    L

  • Oh wow, thanks for sharing your story with me. I am sorry to hear youve been through so much, but I am glad you made it and are hopefully doing better. Take care of yourself <3

  • ya know..since i've discovered your videos, i think i've gotten this idea that you're sort of invincible lol. i mean, with all of the things that you've gone through, you're still here! i can see how strong you are. i sometimes feel like i can't handle everything i go through..but you're always an inspiration for me. i have no doubt in my mind that you'll figure it out and come out on top <3

  • I wish I was invincible! I have been through a lot but I guess I just keep on fighting thinking someday they will be easier and worth it. I know both of us can handle things, we just have to take it day by day. <3 Thank you.

  • Never wish for what cannot be, instead demand to achieve what can be, never fight this condition as that's too exhausting, but seek tolerance for a challenge you face; never let emotions devour you, step outside the mind and know what you feel is purely conditional not actual. Your going to be fine, Im not going to wish you luck cos you don't need it. You simply need to be yourself, a human with a human spirit for life, cos you couldnt have gotten this far without it!

  • i was diagnosed with type one diabetes 3 months ago and i have to take 4 shots everyday. i understand how scary it is to have to change so quickly. im only 15 and im having to grow up way faster than a normal teen. anyways, if you ever wanna talk you can pm me. your an amazing lady and i know you'll get through this.

    <3 Raven

  • Wow, I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It is very hard to change your life so suddenly for a disease/syndrome - but I wish you the best of luck & don't give up. Both of us will make it & be better for sticking with the new lifestyles. Best of luck to you and take care, you can PM me anytime too.

  • I don't know if you're one for organized religion (and I'm not touting here), but I just wanted to let you know that I'm praying for you because, I as well, know how hard life can be, and I'm just praying that you get better soon! I love your videos, they're very inspirational to this self-injurer and I can't wait to see you next vid!

  • I appreciate that very much. Thank you <3

  • Happy Bilated Birthday. Thanks for shareing your story.

  • P.s. (completely unrelated) I am so jealous of your hair!!! You're gorgeous!!

  • I always look forward to your vids!! I know you'll get through this!!

    happy belated bday!!!

  • Thank you very much for watching and for all your support. You're sweet. :)

  • I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of years ago and my specialist immediately put me on Metformin and suggested a nutritionist to get my weight down. It is so so so hard for me to lose weight too. I have been on a low carb high protein diet for a while now and am almost down to my goal weight. You will get there honey. Things will get better. I admire you so much for sharing your story with us. I know that I don't have that same strength.

Best of luck too you!!! xoxo

  • I am glad to hear that the medication has worked for you along with the diet - it seems like it's going to be really hard to adjust to this lifestyle and sometimes I feel so discouraged... But reading about others who have gone through it and improved makes me feel so much better. Thank you for that. :)

  • No worries at all! I'm not gonna lie, I gave up a couple of times and had to start all over again. It was so hard and I had to change EVERYTHING about my eating habits and my exercise and blah blah blah. But after about 4 months it was like second nature (which made it a lot easier to continue on).

Don't get discouraged (easier said I know), it is a long road, but take it one small step at a time and I know you'll get to where you want to be!

  • Yeah even now I find myself skipping a pill here or there because i just am SO tired of being sick :( But I know someday it will become second nature and I'll figure it out and feel better. I appreciate the kind words. Oh, and thanks for the compliment about my hair :)

  • Not sure if it would be useful but I looked up all the side effects of all the new meds I was on just so I knew what I was in for and could look for ways to lessen them :)
