  • Awesome!

  • WOW! This is exactly the stuff that we do in our shcool, which is Ninpo by the way. The similarities between some styles can be startling eh?

  • Hey kuk sa nim, this Lawrence nice take downs. as always you are an inspiration to our generation of martial artist, indeed. from Tewahedo Temple Kung fu ryu

  • Nice stuff. Thank you.

  • where can i learn this in sacramento

  • You look like that gang leader in the movie KK Family List.

    Similar fighting style as well.

  • @saramperson Yes that's correct! It was Grandmaster Taejoon Lee when he had his short hair and it was shot in 1996, released theatrically in Korea.

  • is there anywhere close to longview WA or around there because im very intrested into this kind of stuff.

  • The closest club to you is in Portland, Oregon. Please search for Hwarangdo in Portland.

  • @WCHwaRangDo Any schools in Louisiana? This style looks very interesting. Also I was wondering have you ever herd of a style called I.S. Mudo?

  • @Matt2779 We are sorry but there are no schools in Louisiana. And, I am not sure what I.S. stands for so i cannot tell you.

  • I really like this style, I think I can use alot of my Jujitsu and Karate if I join this system. I use to not like Korea very much, but the more I look into it the more I am seeing that they arn't very different from Japan. I don't buy into the "Korea stole our moves" and vice versa, I think we tought eachother, we are very close, and have had many wars, makes sense we learned eachothers techniques. I am gonna look into Hwarangdo some more =) But I also like Taekkyun =D

  • This comment deserves respect, I hate the martial arts bashing that is rampant throughout youtube

  • do you have any schools in california?

  • Yes, it's in West LA

  • do you have any schools in europe? like in denmark?

  • @Adgang123 Yes we have a school in Denmark. Please visit our World Hwa Rang Do Association Site.

  • anywhere close to tenn?

  • @skullblade101 I am sorry but the closest is either Jacksonville, Florida or the Midwest.

  • you guys are amazing

Look for a tall curly hair guy

in about a week ill be there

  • Awesome

  • this is awesome man

  • 0:27 is my fave

  • I feel so bad for living in central europe... There is no chance to find just any hwarangdo school... And I adore Hwarangdo so much :/

  • If you love it that much, apply long-distance! I wanted to study Hwa Rang Do and nothing else for years, and I lived int he middle of nowhere, so that's what I did...

  • yes I too

  • man this is great material to learn from wow jus great were is ur school located

  • I have the book Defend, Takedown, and Submit that's a great book. Isn't Hwa rang do indigenous to Shilla?

  • @WCHwaRangDo what ages r required?

  • We have classes starting from 3 years of age.

  • Comment removed

  • btw is hwarangdo same as hapkido?

  • Although they are very similar, they are not the same by no means.

  • i think i've seen a video series before with master lee, but it didn't look like this one.. Is this new one a more updated version of it?

  • These are the previews for his Fighting Styles instructional DVDs, which was released around 2003.

  • wow, I learned the first takedown a few days ago, and I'm a white belt in hapkido -_-

  • Why dont we see hwarang do dudes in competitions?

I mean, san shou guys are going up there

  • We stopped going to open tournaments of any kind in the early 90s. Currently we only compete in our Interschool Tournaments. The main tournament is in July of each year in Los Angeles, The World Hwa Rang Do/Tae Soo Do Championships.

  • hwa rang do students still could join open competitions

  • Yes, but only with permission from their Instructor/Master.

  • Hwa Rang Do seems like an awesome style. I'm impressed.

  • Hwa rang!... I thank grand master from the east coast and master angel. for believing in me. and teaching me the way of the flowering manhood. and to humble myself. To be apart of Hwa Rang Do. and now I dedicate my life to it. And Master Lee from fort lee. I;ve also trained from the Philippine master. sadly I forgot his name. But I thank you all. for the dedication you've shown your students. From Supreme Grand master, Grand Master, and Masters. Thank you and Hwa Rang!

  • are there any schools in boston massachusetts? i currently train in tang soo do and i would like to train in hwa rang do...

  • Hey put this back up with better quality?

  • We will put up another clip with better quality. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • hey pal, it's the quality of the techniques that matter. HWD is a nasty style. i've seen it in action. i see you guys attack the legs often. i can only assume this is because of the prmonence of kicking in most korean styles, historically as well as modern. it's as if you are denying your traditional enemy his strength. and it works against western fighters too because they rarely think of lower gate attacks

  • I know all those moves, exept 1:34 that was new.. simple but new to me. 5 years of krav maga, ultimate fighting, shoot fighting, kick and normal boxing and jujitsu. Learnd a few takedowns. Got to love and respect the martial arts.

  • I doubt it.....besides ultimate fighting is not a style, its not even an organization

  • I agree silatguy... now days everybody on Youtube is an Ultimate fighter/bad ass .....

  • I'm not - I am a pussycat...

  • Was the Korean ninjas (Sulsa Warriors) Art?

  • Yes the elite group of warriors of the Hwarang sent on special missions were the Sulsa.

  • soola warriors were some bad ass group of fighters

  • hmm

    impressive stuff

knowing even half of these moves can create a dangerous person

    kudos

  • Kinda similar to hapkido. I myself train hoijeonmoosoolhapkido.

  • I am living in Seoul, Gangnam Gu, Does anyone know where I can find a local Hwarang Do dojang? I am currently training in Kuk Sool Won

  • Sorry for the late reply. You should checkout our Korean website hwarangdo dot co dot kr. Ask for Master Kwon Lee. Hope this helps.

  • this style has very good take downs and submissions. i would love train in this art.

  • Awsome!!!

  • I love Hwa Rang Do, it's the best style I've taken.

  • i cant find it anywhere in GA

  • very nice moves

  • powerful

  • tis style is awsome

  • a very complete combat style.

  • Can you say me where i can find it???please!!!!:(

  • hm..actually this soundtrack is based on Andrew LloydWebber's music from rock opera "Jesus Christ SuperStar". The intro of the opera.

  • exscuse me but this soundtrack is fantastic!!!What is????Please

  • Thank you :). This is an original soundtrack especially written for Fighting Styles Extreme Hwa Rang Do Video Series.

  • Is it necessary to learn TAE SOO DO in order to participate in hwa rang do? I am in another form of karate, but of course I've done some major tweaking to the style to make it a true kenta style but I want to get into hwa rang do next!

  • Yes, you must learn Tae Soo Do first. You'll find it is very different and sets you up to be a better HRD student. If you are experienced, you should be able to fly through TSD. TSD in itself is an excellent comprehensive art.

  • Holy crap I want to learn this now!

  • NICE now i can take down my frend
