As a recent & proud owner of a Zon TJ6, I'd say that Todd is under-selling the instrument. In addition to the "TJ" thing, this is the best all round bass that I have ever owned (and thats quite a few!). It is also great for rock gigs. A very aggressive tone when played near the bridge that cuts right through the mix. The TJ6 frightened the guitar player and even the singer complimented the sound! (Life doesn't get better). My Sadowsky Metro 5 spends most of its time in the case now.

I love the quilted maple top, and the high register notes are crystal clear!

It's the active pickups that require the battery. A lot of instruments are using actives these days. They are far superior in sound quality.

I have a Zon as well, a Sonus Special 5 :) absolutely BRILLIANT bass! Zon basses sound that clear and all IRL, it´s a dream playing on them!
