@Diresoup hahhahahha i dont remember why i posted this, i guess i was pissed off at the world on this day hahaha. to clarify: john mayer is a solid guitar player, but as a person, he is a huge douchey fucking skid mark on my boxer shorts.

also bro, obviously guitar skills do not = fame. he writes pop songs that make girls wet down there. hell, i may not actually be "better" than him...regardless, there are a fuck-ton of guitarists that are WAY better than him that you've never heard of.

I agree with ya, Mayer can be good, and also lame, and the 14 yr old teenybopper crap, its gotta go, just had to call ya on that, as far as the strat vs les paul. I prefer the firebird over both, I modded out my Les and Strat with new p\u's and some orange drop capacitors, both now have distinct sound, Hendrix with a Les Paul... never! listen to Warren doing Cortez the killer with Dave Matthews, true Les Paul sound at its finest, sorry for the gruffness, Not a big Mayer fan also

never played a firebird. and yes i completely agree about that Cortez the Killer. if anyone can make a les paul weep, its Warren. he just plays that one note for like a minute, and its like the most beautiful thing ever man....

Dont be a DUMBASS! Les Paul, Firebird, Strat and tele, and so many more to mention, all great guitars, all have great tones, the Fender vs Gibson, tele vs les paul, Bullshit comparisons, apples and oranges taste different, but they are both a fruit, I have both, love both, and would never want to be limited to just a Strat, that would get old, and he does rock that strat!

@Diresoup i also have both and i got very tired of my les paul. i just hate the tone of a les paul. strats have so much more character and shit. although really i hate all mass production guitars. but a strat is no doubt my go-to guitar until i get me a custom axe.

Warren would sound amazing playing a stick with strings, but he sounds phenomenal on a Strat, something more expressive about their tone than a Les Paul.

@terrornuggi Im willing to bet its the guitar. Playing a lefty flipped makes for an awkward guitar. The volume knob is right where you dont want it to be. So hes constantly rolling the volume up and down.
