The international media has misled many people into believing that Zelaya was a law abiding president. Every country has laws and procedures written as to what and how the constitution may me modified. Zelaya was not following legal procedures.

Yes, constitutions are not etched in stone. Article 374 of the Honduran constitution specifies which articles of the constitutions cannot be modified (about 7 "articulos pétreos"). The rest can be modified by Congress as indicated in Article 373.

The honduran constitution was written 1982, the same year the military dictature "ended" and american puppet-president Roberto Suazo took charge. It states that there are 3 instances that forms the Honduran government. Zelaya wanted to change the constitution to include a fourth instance, namely "the fourth urn", who would be the people. As it is now the rich elite controls the all-way-through corrupt system
