  • Best molosser dog that fits today's dogs are Cane Corso in my opinion.

  • interesting

  • Great video

  • @arislempis hahah u'r funny man, we r not from caucasus, slavian people like serbians macedonians are from caucasus, im ilyrian exacly dardan, please read more for history. There is no old greece.

  • @039agoni Yes sir... Dardan..rules

  • Mark Derr's 'How the dog became the dog' is an excellent read on this subject. The book has recently been published and should be read by all dog lovers.

  • I'm a mastiff lover (who owns a Ca de Bou), but all the pictures of aggressive dogs showing their teeth kills my respect for this video right away.

  • @Skywalker91 It shouldn't the molosser dogs all were brave, and ferocious when need be, great hunters as well as protectors.

  • A gammonwood tale

  • Search a gammonwood tatle mastiff, this video will explain the history of dogs to you, the molosser dog was closer related to ovc type dogs not your bully breeds.

  • Molosia is in Albania and that Eprius part is Albanian, but greeks stoled from us...

  • @039agoni interesting.. :)

  • @HuntingDoggy

interesting?Open a history book you idiot....

  • @039agoni Epirus is in greece...Molossians were the people of Alexander the greats mother...In that time there wasnt a country named albania...Albania has 160 years of history ,WE didnt steal anything from you ,you are migrants in europe from caucasus ,try to make your OWN history...

  • @arislempis

ρε γαμησέ τον.Με τον αλβανό κάθεσαι και μιλάς?Τους δίνεις και αξία.

  • @039agoni well, in ancient greece Albania didnt exist at all, it was the Ilyrians :P so i dont think they stole anything to albanian but illyrians...

  • I like the comment about "preserving a breed" at 2:45. "Pedigree" dog just basically means that the dog will produce true to "type" puppies creating the exploitation of niche markets and puppy mills. Dogs were originally bred for their jobs not as lucrative products. Work breeding> Show breeding.

  • I think the soundtrack was major overkill for this video. I was waiting for a dog to rip someone's head off or something...

  • @BradM73 music choice was intensionally (sorry for bad english) over dramatized :) When talking about ancient molosser dogs, music cant be epic enough (accordin to me that is)

  • 3:02, 3:21, 4:01, and 4:37. what are the songs???

  • @LavegliaDellaMorte im sorry to say this but i dont know :/ i used "EPIC MUSIC MEDLEY" mp3 wich had no names of the songs.. great music dont cha think? :)

  • @HuntingDoggy thanks for file name. I will download it on emule :D. Musics and video are great. thanks for answer too. Take care.

  • @HuntingDoggy write EPIC MUSIC on youtube search, you'll find more than enough :)

  • Why all the angry dog photos? Most molosser breeds are incredibly docile. And I had to pause to read the text because it went too fast for me to keep up with.

  • @bendslikeawillow well, this was mostly a history doc, tributing the brute force and strenght of ancient molosser warhounds and such, so angry photos were more suitable for this video. I tried to make the subtitles slow enough to read, i can read them so i thought others could too. Sorry.

  • For those interested, there is a new breed of molosser being developed, it is called the American Bull Molosser, It resembles an African Boerboel, but has a slightly rounder head, and it is a medium to large sized dog with no recorded health problems so far, look it up on your web browser.

Copy and paste to other videos and thumbs up so others can see!

  • @StefyStuff interesting.. need to look for info about the breed

  • @HuntingDoggy yeah, it looks pretty efficient, it has a large and solid head, short powerful jaws and a tapering torso that end in a docked tail.

  • Good video, very clear is the difference between the hounds than once, which had a function, but now the selection is used only for economic purposes and not according to the function!!

  • my feroite of these great is the Tosa inu xD!

  • @DogSoldier011 Rottweiler has always been my favorite breed :) when lil boy, dobermann bit me, for many years i scared all dogs and one day i was walking alone in the woods near home. huge rottweiler came from the bushes i was going to run but i was too scared to move... then i reconized the dog it was always in chain in one house's yard, i dont remember anymore what the name was but i did remember it then so when i said it's name, he turned his head then licked my face. ROTTWEILER <3

  • @HuntingDoggy rottwilers are great lol ive had good experinces with some and also horrible experinces with them lol but like big softies mastiff types are gernaly very gentle with chrildern by Nature :) my faveroites are tosa inu's and apbt's when i was a kid everyone owned apbts but they were big and builky mine was small 44 lbs 18 at the shoulders. he was great. his first mate was a Rottwiler, something we didnt know much about when we were kids. the pups were great. Pitwilers <3

  • @DogSoldier011 my brother has 1,5 year old bluenose pittbull male, named Sasha :) i believe Pittweiler would be awesome dog!

  • @HuntingDoggy their great looking dogs :) they look like an american bulldog minus the geowls lol :P pits are great dogs ~

  • @DogSoldier011 was any of them with Black&Tan, the rottie color?

  • @DogSoldier011 i have to say i did scare pittbulls (thanks to media i guess) a lot so when Sasha moved in (my brother was my room mate for a few months) i was feaking out for a few weeks just waiting when it's gonna attack me :D But i now better now, it's just another molosser. :)

  • @HuntingDoggy ive frown up with apbts their one of the only breeds bred not to be human agressive :) but a lot of what the media says is what scares people lol most stories never include the actule breed that attacked, when ever people said their was a pitbull attack in our area guess what the breed would be ? an english Bull teirrer :S those had a tough rep but it was the people behind it, i love mossler breeds, but my favoiete is spitz type dogs :)

  • @DogSoldier011 But like all big and strong dogs they need a strong trainer, im not really a good trainer so for now my borderterrier Dixie is enough :) i'd like to take pure breed rottweiler or cane corso like 15 years later maybe.. the name shall be ARGOS. You know the greek legend about moloss dog Argos who waited 20 years for his master to come back home and when he finally did, loyal Argos had fullfilled his destiny and died a happy dog.

  • @HuntingDoggy yes i did a prestnaion of that in grade 10 :) he was a great dog :) cane corso's and rotties are to comon here in Canada people Relaie on mixed breeds in country areas. im not saying their not good to me their all amazing. i have a dog named buster he is a mixed breed. the annishnba tribe used them as hunters.very fealress & highdrive dogs.their akita Type dogs :)
