  • Psychedelic Dameron!

  • It is great today on emulators or a Spectrum with HDD, now I couldn't wait to load it from tape (as well as Altered Beast or R-Type)

  • The thing about Myth is that no matter the format, it was still a great game. The Spectrum version is no exception as it proves that S3 had excellent programmers.

They knew they couldn't reproduce the same graphics and so they looked at what the Spectrum was capable of and produced a game suited to that machine. Most other houses would have just cried "It aint our fault its crap hardware", but S3 worked around the machine's limitations and delivered a great game.

  • @SamusDrake It´s really impressive how the programmers in that era made so much with so little in hands!

  • @kingarthurpendragon

Not arff! The Spectrum was a difficult machine to program for!

  • very cool

  • I must agree with eleventharrow, speccy has more detailed graphics (not counting colors) due to better resolution. Also the animation of sprites is smoother than in the C64 version. Anyway C64 version has beautiful music.

  • erm C64 has color, over speccy crap colr, thats it

  • Are you drunk, insane or completely blinded by the speccy-light? The Commodore 64 version IS far the better version, better sound, graphics, gameplay - better in EVERY way. Just look it up for yourself - it's out on youtube...

  • Absolutely awful. The Speccy version is utter crap compared to the C64 version. The computer this game was WRITTEN for and THEN ported. It was even for C64 before the AMIGA. I could list all the fatal flaws in this shite, poor mans conversion but why bother? Just look at the C64 version and see the light. (As always with the Spectrum and it's colour blind and mostly deaf fans of course.)

  • @hbhzth

Do you by chance know the Spectrum version closely?

ANIMATIONS in the zx version are MUCH SOFTER AND RICH (look at the skeleton's dying animation, for example - the skull bounces on floor and their body gets back with the impact of fireballs.

Even the smallest details are present in the Spectrum version: Scandinavian girl on altar have her hair moving while floating up; fire is realistic; bosses are greatly designed; thunders are also present at the viking boat; etc.

    A jewel.

  • wow!!,,,,, i prefer MSX,, but Spectrum are cool
