only reason manuals are so common in europe is because of the very high gas prices, manuals have less fuel usage. I drive a manual 1993 toyota 4runner, i think manuals are better than automatics, and i hate when people drive sports cars in automatic, pisses me off

If you want to get technical, automatic is better for sport cars. Better drag time with automatic. But it has to be tuned for the sort of thing.

Manual is old technology as far as shifting goes.

SMGs are much more proficient.

It's all depends about driver, but sport cars doesn't have automatic gearbox like this Supra or every almost american car, it's semi-automatic with paddle hand shifter(All Ferrari's from 2000., and SLR, Reventon,etc..like F1, still shifting with hands. Full automatics like this is good only in cars like american V8 and where you wanna comfort in driving(Audi A8, S600 Merc, BMW 760Li, Volvo S80-T5, VW Phateon,etc. Real sports cars need a Sequential Manual Gearbox

I dont have any problems driving a manual car i really couldnt see an auto much "easier to live with" at this point. If i was gonna drop 30 grand on a car then its gonna have to be a manual.
