VMP, yes you can coil split. It has a four-way conducter wire and you can split the coils with a five-way blade switch. Please check out my personal channel and subscribe! I will have new videos about my gear very soon.
wow dude, that's some sweet chug that thing's got there....would this be a great pickup for a 7 string because i love the d sonic in my jacksons but when i get my seven i don't wanna settle for active pickups, because i hate active pickups...
I also hate active pickups, they sound way too sterile. The D Sonic 7 rocks, and it sounds brutal through my mesa mark iv. The harmonics are there, and it is quite focused. If I was gonna go for another 7 string pickup, it would probably be a seymour duncan ('cuz they're a lot nicer to deal with) or a dimarzio tone zone. But if you like the sound in this video, the d sonic will melt your face once you hear it in person!
thanks bud, and actually i love the mark IV, i'm goin for the john petrucci 7 string tone, but then again he doesn't use that much gain so if i wanna go heavier i just add mroe gain..lol.
monster cables have incredible sound quality. however, both of my monster cables broke...and they are not lifetime guaranteed. I recommend the highest quality Planet Waves cables. They have a lifetime guarantee and are just as strong and pristine as monster cables.
@OmertaTV i use livewire, my cable has lasted me over 2 years and was even thrown out of my car during a wreck where i flipped several times. still works and sounds great :D you should give them a try. if it ever shorts out or anything you just bring it back to the store with the reciept and they give you a new one
Monster cables don't really matter that much. The only good thing about them is the connectors have lower resistance (because they're are gold). Other than that, you're just buying the name. And oh my god, sevenstring fail..
Is that a Peavey Predator 7? hows the pickup change from the stock pickups? Thanks!

Hey man I got an Ibanez universe and use it as my main instrument. 7 strings are so under rated. Nice work. Chris

I havent heard the 7 string version, but the SD Blackouts sound really good in regular 6 strings. Not sterile, I mean.

Thanks man! My gear in this video is: peavey predator 7 w/ d-sonic, monster cable, mesa boogie mark IV. It's a killer amplifier.
