Ain't runnin rich. Occasional pop in through the exhause has a bunch of reasons. Usualy fuel mixture isn't it. If it's steady the timing is retarded. You should hear the pipes pop when the hot wire from the module grounds out. Now that's a magnificent pop!
I have pipe popping and flare-ups on slow down, but nothing like that...was there an issue or was it just tuned for a richer application like drag racing?

that isn not backfiring! that is afterfiring.
backfire is through the carbs.
afterfire is unburnt fuel firing/exploding in the exhaust, AFTER the combustion chamber.
