  • Ya know, this would be great... If you didn't have to feed a house of 5, including yourself. I couldn't be bothered to go through all of that ten times (We are absolute PIGS when it comes to steak :D)

  • HA eat that you vegetarians!

  • Now imagine having that steak infront of you now! :D

I'm going to buy a steak!!!!!

  • 0:17 "man, i need a line!!"

  • @lifeagain huh

  • @jeremynobigdeal He's so jumpy and looks like he's about to relapse or something

  • It was my understanding that one is supposed to let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes after cooking before slicing into it. In this video it looks he just hacks right into it.

  • @MartyMartyMarty1000 power of editing...amazing isn't it

  • time to find bellasangre101's comment.

  • @allrsps Oh thank Jesus I wasn't the only one who went on a comment hunt.

  • I hear aliens in the background.

  • Bear Grylls' version of this video will be only 10 seconds.

  • @Erikuism You get the steak, you eat the steak, and you move on surviving.

  • @sghost128 what steak, he'd probably just bite the cow in the ass and proceed moving on. The only thing I've ever seen him cook was a lobster.

  • @Erikuism You forgot another 10 seconds to drink your own piss.

  • does anyone know if he is putting any pressure on his fingers (squeezing) when he does that hand trick to check the doneness?

  • @flightoftheicarus No its open palm, two fingers pressed to the inner heel of the hand. A rare steak is going to have alot of give, especially toward the center. A blue rare, isn't going to have any give at all. A medium steak will only give a little and a well done steak won't give at all and should be tossed to the dog.

  • @FiestyCat86 In your opinion. After all, people have the ability to choose what they like. A medium rare piece of meat tastes wonderful, however my brain cannot get past the fact I'm eating food that is not fully cooked. That's my opinion; so feel free to throw your well done steak my way. Oh, and I prefer my chicken and turkey to be dry as well.

  • @hunthicks Well you have funn with your overcooked burnt tastless food, meanwhile I'm going to tuck into my bloody cow and enjoy the flavor!

    Btw I'm just teasing.

  • If it was rare, there would be no strands across the meat. When the steak is cooked, you can see the muscle fibers running across the steak. It's rare, and it tastes amazing

  • wow the hand trick to check if the steak is at the desired state is so helpful

  • Im droooooooooling

  • seemed like a bubble gum to me when he chewed it

  • That steak looked plenty done to me. If I had my way, the darn thing would moo when I stuck my fork in it! XD

  • @screenpuller thats what they have blue rare for!! The real carnivores!!

  • Rare steak ftw!

  • i love watching gordon cook but what i absaloutly hate about his shows ....it makes me sooo fucking hungry lol

  • To people who thinks this is raw: Do you REALLY think a 3 star chef wouldn't know the difference between raw and rare? And also, even if it was rare don't you think by the magic of technology they would do one more take? Or are you that ignorant, home cook? What gives you the credentials to surpass Ramsay in food knowledge? He has shown the world, what have you done? Commented on a video on youtube? bitch please.

  • @SindreKristiansen Well said. And a powerful finish. I approve.

  • @SindreKristiansen couldnt have said it better my self.

  • @TheFatal05 Thanks, you probably could cause I saw I wrote "rare" when I ment "raw". Oh well, seems that most people knew what I ment. :) I think people (the ones that complain) tend to see Gordon as a TV-personality and not a 3-star chef. And they clearly haven't been to his restaurants. The food and service is immaculate. So unless they "chow" me that standard I have to go with Gordon on food knowledge. (sorry about the bad chow/show pun...didn't even sound the same :P )

  • @SindreKristiansen rare is basically raw... The internal temp is around 50C, no where near cooking temp. Basically all the micro-organisms can survive that heat.

  • @jyozeff Now you're just talking semantics. I'm no bacterial biologist so you may be right on micro-organisms, but I still don't see your point. If you order a raw steak you can get a steak that haven't even touched the pan...they use the term rare to achive 50-52 degrees. The terms don't take into consideration wheter or not organisms survive... It's the temp of the meat. So I don't agree that raw is rare vice versa (if we are talking purely the survival of bacteria, sure, but with cooking no).

  • @SindreKristiansen In the middle east, the temp sometimes reaches 50C and if you left meat out in the sun for an hour, would it be "cooked"? Your body temp is 38C, and since that is pretty close to 50 would you consider yourself slightly "cooked"? hahahaha

  • @jyozeff Haha, that may be the most stupid argument I´ve heard in a long time. But good effort. I didn´t realize until now that you actually just wanted to "chat". And the body temp is 37C.... And no.. 38 is not close to 50. It´s like having a discussing with a religous person or a child... They always falter from the point. So I´ll end it here. Find someone else to chat to. :) Thanks for your, albeit not-on-point, comments.

  • @jyozeff as long as its not in the danger zone for more than an hour its fine

  • @SindreKristiansen: If you ride around pant-less you're nekkid, even if you are the Emperor. I haven't cooked as many steaks as Ramsay but I bet I've et as many. I like mine "au pointe" and if you don't know what that is you don't know what cooked beef should be. I understand that properly hung, aged and pre-warmed beef can look "raw" when perfectly cooked. This ain't it. Unrendered fat is WHITE. Ramsay claims the steak is "pink" (which it should be). Well is it pink or RED?

  • Shorted video don't look

  • it sounded like where !

  • Anyone who prefers their steak well done does not know how to eat good food.

  • @wingchunjourney I prefer it medium well only because ive had a bad expierence with a rare steak, food poisoning. Its rare to get it from a rare steak but it happened.

  • @Stixnstonez49 You sure it wasn't from something else? I like my steak medium well but I've been wanting to try it rare some time.

  • @7477238 i did have alot of fish that night as well. I recently read you can't get food poisoning from rare steak, so it was probably th efish.

  • @Stixnstonez49 yeah I always eat my steak blue rare, thats pretty much the cow laying down and dieing on your plate, and I've never been sick from it, and thats almost twenty years of eating my meat that way. The best way to eat a steak if you're squemish about eating rare, is to get your meat medium RARE. Any more than that and you cook all the flavor out. You melt out all that yummy fat and your left with a dry boring hunk of meat thats (to me) a shame.

  • @wingchunjourney I don't want my food tasting like blood

  • @MizKiwii you don't taste blood in a properly cooked rare/medium rare steak. If you taste blood then that means it was just seared quickly and taken off the pan. And on the other hand, if you cook the steak well done, the steak loses it's wonderful texture and flavors. And if you buy a good quality cut, such as a USDA prime cut, you just spent a lot of money to convert it into the quality of a cheaper cut.

  • @wingchunjourney

I eat my steak well done, and probably appreciate good food than most people.

  • @chino9377 wrong

  • @wingchunjourney i tink they just wan to play safe and not want to risk any health problem?

  • just fixed that, gordon i love u

  • Chef Ramsay is a LEGEND!

  • my goodness.. it taste like beef...

  • it has also a saliva flavor in it

  • Anyone else look around your room in a panic when the bells started at the beginning?

  • I love this ol' chap.. no matter how mean he is to other people lol

  • If theres no heat theres no color, if theres no color theres no flavour, if theres no flavour theres no customers, if theres no customers theres no profit, if theres no profit theres no success.

    DONE!

  • @Frouza

If theres no success theres no women, if theres no women theres no kooka, if theres no kooka theres no children, if theres no children theres no family to cook a steak for because you couldnt do it right the first time when you had a business so you'll sit in your apartment with your 26 cats until the world sees you on hoarders.

  • @icast085 wait!! there's no kooka!? :(

  • @icast085 Since when is there no kooka, I just checked, Scarlets doing well and her curtains are pink and lovely!!

  • he didn't say what temperature we need to set ..?

  • @nocte666 High heat. Just about as hot as your stove will go.

  • Oh ya...butter and beef a match made in heaven!!

  • Why he's using oil first? why not using butter right at the start?

Is that to cook it fast at the start so the flavour stays intact or something?

  • @madhat1979 if you watch another one of his videos its because butter will burn if you cook with it from the start

  • @madhat1979 If he put in the butter, it'll burn even before the steak is cooked. He explained that in another video IIRC.

  • @madhat1979 wen you cook only with butter, the butter tends to burn.. using oil prevents the butter from burning and using it until the end gives it a richer flavour.

  • what kind of oil did he say he used

  • @sugardaddy31766 ground nut oil, a neutral oil

  • @sugardaddy31766 ground nut oil

  • that's RAW you DONKEY !!!!

  • @bellasangre101 Its not Raw!!! Its RARE u DONKEY!!!

  • @ParisDarez i like donkeys :D so cute

  • @ParisDarez rare is simply what we call it, a rare steak is cooked to a lower internal temperature, and therefore is more raw then a medium or well done steak. Is donkey a severe insult these days?

  • @ParisDarez it's up to opinions. for me that steak is disgustingly raw and it's rubby when you chew it.

  • @alsuagarful Its not up to opinions there is a difference between raw and rare, opinion is how a person likes their steak this one is rare.

  • @bellasangre101 uhh thats rare

  • @bellasangre101 Its beautiful!!!

  • My Godness.... I'm good.
