Lots of videos of people trying to re create this and failing, mainly because it lacks protection round the zip and on the edges, apparently the new version has more protection in these areas. Let's hope so I just ordered one after I slightly bent my iPad in a cheap foam case off eBay. Didnt effect the screen though. Lucky.

Seriously? OK - I work with an organization in Orlando that has been instrumental in military innovations for years. Improve your case to offer use while the iPad is in the case and then GET IT IN THE HANDS OF THE MILITARY. Also consider coming up with using the same material in uniforms or create an undergarment that can be worn. This would have so many mission applications. Can you mix it with Kevlar?

Pretty sure that "the military" (depending on which country you are in) are aware of materials like this, that change their properties upon the application of particluar type of force. I have heard of experimental body armours made of a gel that hardens on impact etc. Generally though, militaries require things that are exceptionally hard-wearing. I doubt that something shiny from a sports shop is going to cut it.
