The i8910 is still up there as one of the best all round multimedia phones available. Its got a lot going for it. The i8910's cortex A8 omap 3430 is a fantastic scalable upto 1ghz cpu. This is much much better than the X1's.

Omnia HD is doubtlessly a very nice and powerful phone but it comes with shortcomings too. Omnia HD is considerably larger than x1. Also Omnia HD costs 400 euro in Italy , i got SE X1 for 200 euro. OSs are different too, WM offers practically unlimited applications. I'm not sure we can compare these two guys, i guess they rank differently.

x1 nie jest dopracowana w 100%, bo htc zostawiło ją w którymś stadium a SE tlyko dokończył. Co nei zmienia faktu że X1 jest dużo szybsza od wszystkich samsungów (jeśli chodzi o inne sprawy niż filmy).

Come on dude this is not fair. I am on omnia HD fan but the xperia is not for hd video playback. The omnia has 600Mhz arm proc plus one more for graphics and the xperia a single qualcomm 528Mhz, thats like an arm of 350Mhz.

I have an Xperia X1a and that video does not look right. The i8910 does look nice, but the Xperia is obviously not being run with proper software. Perhaps a re-do comparison with properly formatted video (both at 800x480) and running accelerated video would be more useful.
lame comparison. X1 here is not using accelerator.
Saw lots of video in 800x480 on my X1 at 750kbit/s mp4 + 128kbit mp3, and for some films possible even 1200kbit/s with lowq sound. ATI Imageon + 528мгц CPU + standart media player or media panel works with video on X1 brilliantly.
your tcp player obviously doesn't support x1 internal graphic acceleration, try use gom conveter and convert a 800 x 400 vdo and play with wmp, this will put omnia hd to shame
is not matter of the gpu is good or not, i certainly agree that the omnia hd has a better gpu and cpu in order to cope with the 720p video recording, what im saying that the user uploading this test is putting x1 in unfair situation, because this is not the reality! and i know amoled is good in contrast but in such a small screen there is no difference and also one add on point i8910 runs on a 640 x 360 and have a 3.7 inches and xperia has 800 x 480 with 3 inch and produce pixel density of 298!
the xperia doesnt show much big pixels compare to i8910, in colour wise u may say omnia hd is better because of 26 million colour? 0_0 im not a samsung fan boy or windows mobile fan boy. with higher figures on cpu and gpu. i know is good but doesn't means xperia with lower specification isn't capable of doing playpack capability worst then omnia hd!
GPU might be true but the "king" concept is an opinion. no such thing as the "best" phone in fact just, again, in opinion. Phones are always based on personal taste and requirements.
I have Toshiba G900, which has also 3'' 800x480 screen and 524 MHz CPU and the sad truth is that it cannot play videos too well :( It is normal to see video playback the same as in this video.
omnia HD use omap 3430 so omnia HD can run HD video but x1 graphic chip is not for HD video but vga...SE sets their video just for VGA not HD..X1 bit rate is only 1.5MB/sec exclusive for VGA video but HD video is 8MB/sec..HD video is too big for X1..you cant compare both phones..you should compare x1 with omnia not omnia HD
find the other phone that use same software and hardware with omnia HD can run hd video...i think omnia HD will fight with idou or X2 so hard

X1 should play this movie also, but it has qualcomm. Spec both devices is similiar, OMNIA hd has 600 mhz omap and 256 ram, X1 has 524 MHz procesor and 256 mb ram also.

Biorąc pod uwagę zastosowane procesory nie odbiegają one za wiele od siebie. No chyba że 70hz robi jakąś różnicę. Albo zastosowano jakiś akcelerator graficzny w omni dający płynny obraz.
Ale jest jeszcze rozdzielczość, procek x1 musi wiecej pracowac niż omni by wyświetlić obraz.

Omnia HD simply has the best GPU ever integrated into a mobile phone. It also has a much better CPU than in X1, its Cortex-8.
+ it has far more superior AMOLED screen with infinity contrast.
thats why Omnia HD is the king of all mobile phones at the moment.
