I posted a video that explains the basics of carbohydrate loading for runners just like these people! If you would go watch it and give me feedback or challenges it would help me out alot! Thank you so much!
hello i am i long distance runner i have been runnig since i was 4. all i can say is IT"S FUCKING HARD to meet your goal this is NOT something you can learn over night.there was 136 girls running i got 11th k. my knees are fucked the docters want me to not run anymore but i will NEVER give up my dream.
This was extremely cool. I run cross country at my school, and my friends and I watched this one day during practice. I think ultramarathons are very extreme for my skill level, but I would be willing to try it any day!
Wow, so he wasn't a big runner until after college? Thats inspiring, I didn't really get into running until the end of high school. I always thought ultramarathoners were freaks of nature who always ran.
@baconsizzle121 Thing is if you do an ultra, you pretty much listen to all your favorite songs too many times. You just want to ditch the thing after 2 hours.
Wow, I'm struggling with my ability to run 1.5 miles for basic training. And this guy ran 100 in one day. Damn... Great job, wish I could run like that.
@tristanfc2 Not sure about all the settings, generally recording at 48/16. For all the race/post race interviews it was on a boom and probably 3-4 feet away from Charles, with the mics set to the 90 degree spread. For the sit-down interviews we used a Countryman B6 lav which is taped just under his collar, it slipped down at one point early on which is why the tone changes after the first minute or so.
as a pharmacist he should know he shouldn't be taking Tylenol while running as it changes the way your blood flows to your muscles epically your kidneys.
@windex1234 yeah well i don't know all the specifics about this I just remember my high school cross country coach telling my team about this and how it could harm you.
@slingshot489 Actually, anti-inflammatory drugs have that effect. Tylenol is not in that same family. It is safe on the kidneys. You should avoid all NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, Naproxen... while running ultras. They do decrease renal artery blood flow and increase the risk of acute renal failure. I'm glad you're thinking about your kidneys while running. Just remember its the NSAIDs and not Tylenol that are the culprits.
Im prepairing this year, and have been taking Citruaid , which is a natural amino acid drink, I started trying it cause Sheila Taormina was taking it, and I was curious, I have had insane good reults with Citruaid compared to anything on the market, and I espeacially notice the extra natural energy when i need to go great distances like Tri's
Looks very cool!

Is it possible to run such a distance using only water, dates and sandwhiches?
Being a pharmacist you probably asked yourself that question many times.
