The version that was on the "Reality Bites" soundtrack is slightly different from this version. During the chorus, Paul Carrack sings with more pronounced diction for some reason. It sounds like "Temp-ted by the frooo - TUV - anotherrr..." or something. Hope that makes sense. It's great that it found another audience. "My Sharona" is on that soundtrack too.

I still don't get the dancing chicks in the background. Oh wait... BOOBS!! THAT'S it!!

I seem to remember that their 1st 2 albums were slow burners so when this one came out I just cut to the chase & bought the LP knowing it would all be good. I don't think the '93 re-release was drastically changed - how do you improve on perfection?

I'm a bitter, jaded old bastard who doesn't like any music. This is one of those songs that is just an excellent example of brilliant songwriting. Only Stevie Wonder is able to pull off what they pull off in this song. Oddly structured chords and arrangement, yet it sounds like a simple little 3 chord pop song.

Agreed, it's a much more complicated song musically then it appears to be. Like you said, "it sounds like a simple 3 chord pop song" but there are a bunch of odd/difficult chord changes and the overall chord structure is strange. The only way I could play this song was to transpose it in the key of A with the capo on the second fret.

I think Paul Carrack is one of the most underrated musicians there were in the last 25 years of the 20th century. What a multitalented man! In many bands but also solo. Solo he was more at funk, but he could play and sing every kind of music!
