  • I LOVE RATM and I LOVE P.O.D, but sorry, you should have thought a little harder about what you put in your description box. "Here's a cool video that I will now compliment backhandedly..."

    Geez...

  • Priceless footage!!!! With Alex on the kit like old times. Thanks for posting this man! Their album that came out after this one (DBL) completely opened my mind to swampy/heavy music.

  • If Rage came out 10 years earlier, youd say that Rage influenced POD. But because they were close, you wanna say its ripping off? First, POD and Project 86, as Christian bands, have so much more substance to their writing. Rage was all about social revolution pertaining to the current (1992-2000) domestic and foreign polices. Now that Clintons out of office, wheres their musical genius?

  • Andrew Schwab has written and published 4 books (one of which was a book of poetry, selling 10,000 copies), and has written for AP, HM, Relevant, and CCM Magazines. I'd say that makes him a better lyricist than sonny and WAY better than Zack. besides, Zacks lyrics are all about his winy selfish political views.

  • POD and Project 86 have both released 7 studio albums and several EP's. Rage has 4 studio albums one of witch is all covers. To bad Rage didnt come out after POD and Project 86. Than they would have had a better example of writing and selling albums!!

  • Did you... did you just imply that RATM would not/did not protest against the Bush administration, too? Really?

  • Dont get me wrong, RATM is anti-party-based government. But, Bush took office in January, 2001. RATM's last album was 1999. They broke up in 2000 because "their decision making process had completely failed." it wasnt till 2007 they decided to get back together because they felt that the US had "slid into a right wing purgatory" under the Bush administration but have done jack squat. they were suppose to put out an album in 2009 but its now December....

  • But now that Obama's in office, we'll see what we get

  • 'Despite featuring a Mr. Paul Joshua "Sonny" Sandoval (of then small-time obvious-Christian-RATM-rip-off band Payable On Death) this song remains somewhat entertaining.'

Possibly one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Good video though.

  • I find this funny - that these two bands started out at the same place...

I got this video on a dvd from someone on the froams quite a while ago... miss that haha.

  • Have you heard POD's first album, Snuff the Punk? I've never thought "RATM" at all when listening to it. Totally different.

  • seriously, any band from those years you could say was a ripoff or RATM. next your'e gonna say deftones is a rip off of Korn, or vice versa since deftones came out in '88. and p.o.d. was influenced by reggae esp. after snuff the punk but w/ heavy bass riffs. listen to evil empire and snuff the punk. the only similarity is that the bands are labeled alt. metal. project 86 has similarities to RATM too, and i'm sure p.o.d. started out b4 ratm got signed, like all bands, they practice first.

  • ChipsVoid

pod formed a year after ratm formed... therefore they are not a rip off, but they are merely from the same era... plus if you knew anything about them you'd also know they're from southtown san diego... and also, if you heard anything from their first few albums, you might have a higher understand of the evolution of their sound.

please don't talk badly about things you literally know nothing about.

  • Sadly, I have now owned copies of Brown and Snuff the Punk for well over a decade...

  • snuff the punk wasn't that great, it had a hit or two. brown and the southtown albums are both really good.. and they don't sound anything like rage against the machine.

  • DAMN. Talk about vintage. I didn't think a copy of this would ever surface,

  • Man! Back when Project 86 was cool.

  • Dork...

P.O.D. is not a Rage rip off... they formed about a year after Rage. Their sounds are actually quite different, P.O.D. had a lot of Raegae and Punk in their music. Rage is cool and all, and I bet they would kick you in the face for dissing a band they have mad respect for like P.O.D. P.O.D. came about the same time as Rage, they both we're essentially playing the same music before it was popular.

    -James'

  • Did you just say "mad respect"?

  • Yeah I did... what do you not think that phrase is cool enough?

The point was that Rage has respect for P.O.D. and knows that they started around the same time and are a band with integrity. Both were great bands and neither one ripped the other off.

    -James'

  • I'm not sure if the video uploader is worth arguing with anymore. He obviously has no respect for Project 86 or P.O.D., so he just posts videos of shows he went to that he thought were a waste of his time and money, which he hints at in his descriptions. He also said in a later comment that P.O.D. were biters as of their album Brown and never went on to develop a good, original sound. Honestly, I think he's a closet Project 86 fanatic, though he'll probably deny it.

  • Rage Against the Machine released their first album in 1991, and then P.O.D. formed a year later. Does that fact have any bearing on your assumption that they started off as a RATM? I doubt it. Plus, other than RATM, P.O.D., and Biohazard, no other bands were blaring out rapcore music. As far as I'm concerned, bands like Limp Bizkit, Project Wyze, and FLAW are old school P.O.D. rip-offs.

  • Woah man, thanks for posting all these old vids! I never saw Project 86 before Drawing Black Lines came out, and it seemed like they never played any of their old songs off the first cd anymore once it did. I've seen em live a couple times and never saw them do anything older than Drawing Black Lines. Thanks again!

  • Loco... Loco... Loco!!!

    Amazing!!!

    HAHA

    Abraços do Brazilian Warrior Klan

    We Love P.O.D. & Project 86

  • awsome vid.

    awsome song.

    awsome band.

asfor p.o.d. being a RAGE ripoff.. ur kidding urself mate.

  • Note that I placed it temporally by saying "then."

As of the release of Brown, P to the O to the D were serious biters.

To their credit, they did go on to develop their own sound. Though, obviously, it wasn't (isn't?) very good.

P.S. U R LURNINING 2 SPELL B4 U MAEKSA NOTHER COMENT ON MIES VIDYOS, compadre.

  • Kaneshaw. Dont bother with this guy, He doesn't like project 86, but whatever. He had the initiative to take time out of his life to upload these videos, and for that i thank him

  • @uploader

Dude, what is up with your description of this video?

Sonny is awesome, and so is P.O.D..

HELL, what is up with all the descriptions on the videos you've uploaded?

You obviously have no idea what good music is.

  • I'm afraid Sonny doesn't know how to yell.
