London New Year is rotten... noone sings or dances or counts in. Scotland is the place at New Year. The way of celebrating is Scottish. First-footing, Auld Lang Syne, spades, coal/whiskey/shortbread, bagpipes, the lone piper, ceilidh. Parties up there go on for days and days... great atmosphere and warmth and friendliness that cities like Paris and London can't have.

@derekoct83 no offence but i actually dont think you have a clue what your talking about. Have you even been to London or Paris? No one wants to hear annoying northern people sing, people go for the fireworks, the people and the parties. You cant compete with places like London, Sydney, Paris, Newyork and LA. Your just a shallow minded person.

I live in London and work in Paris... commute between the two most days. You shouldn't make spurious assumptions. I love London and Paris but not for New Year... the parties and people are neither friendly nor welcoming. I've also been to Los Angelas for new year which was non eventful. Maybe it's you who needs to broaden your horizons a little. In every city you mentioned they sing Auld Lang Syne...
