For those of you who didn't have the money and your villagers died: I found this tip online and worked for me:
I did the job where you are a musician (lute hero). As you play a few people return. Build your relationship with those people and if any of them are shop owners spend money to help the economy. I basically went to each town that had the lute job and played and played and made friendship/friendship and spent spent. It too some time but eventually I got everyone backed and they liked me!

You can buy buildings to give you income. What I did was cranked the money output to maximum when the darkness was coming. I also had to break the promise to paige. You still get angel wings and everyone lives.

I killed 2 villagers, everyone hates me-guards wont let me shop - bums hitting my dog, so now im gonna let loose cans of whiparse-drag the poshys to dweller camp,bring dwellers to aurora and scum bags go to mercenary camp,keep bulldogs onside to guard them, whores in the castle, fill brightwell with orphans and as for peeps who boo hooed my polygamy - they go to Hobbesville - Reever will be delighted - Tatty Bye...
if you want money, its simple, just buy homes and make the rent as high as it goes, u will get the rent every few minutes and after awhile u will be rich, put a bunch of money in the castle vault and u can make a ll good decisions, so you will have all ur peeps and be good

To earn back villagers , buy ALL Houses in any town. My people are back in the Bowerstone old Quarters. On the Bowerstone market , there still not there>.<
I have gotten my treasury back to over 6.5 million, where it should be...
And not a single citizen has come back because of this.
I am absolutely furious at Lionhead. I knew my citizens were going to die but, heck they sould have at least gave them back to me for going completely out of debt and raising to over 6.5mil
@Lemt I have over 6.5 million in the treasury without a doubt. 100% positive that i do. Treasury does nothinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg and i am pissed
@MarBelieves Odd. What does it tell you when you go to sign the paper that says how many people die? And have you tried getting the money out of the treasury and out again?
@Lemt All i know is that when I beat the game,I was in debt 1.9mil.Afterward all my people were dead so I thought I could get them back through treasury.Eventually I saved up to about 5mil(to get open the special chest) then I put in all 5mil into the treasury. Nothing happened with the people.I then got it to above 6.5mil and still nothing. I even slept for15days and did the little lute thing,still barely anything. About only two or three people(tops)in each town(bcuz of lute)no more came after
You guys are all dumb doing the jobs for money, buy cheap houses that are affordable to repair and stall vendors(you don't pay repairs derp)to begin with and work your way up at normal rent(or high for evil players)even low gets you there fast enough. I had a good character with a couple k and a couple quests away from the end of the game and it took me less than a few hours playing gathering solely rent to quadruple the amount needed. Anyone who had a problem with money in this game is stupid.
i tried to play lute hero to save all people ;) and i tried to buy a lot of shops and stuff to get money from then. when i gathered 400 000 gold from playing lute and saw that it were still around 6 000 000 (!) people to save, i thought: so DIE ALL!!!!!...i wont play lute any longer. i wish i had turned the orphanage into a brothel, you ungrateful bastards ... then i got my shotgun and shot several people and then i ended the game. so what?
I had the same ending .... EN IT SUCKS, Everything is empty there is NO-ONE on the streets, I rlly wanted a good kingdom so i started over again hoping that i will do it right this time :)
@Kooth2 It's easy to raise money. The first time I had a shortage of 1 million. So I started the game again and raised money from the very beginning. Earn some money (lute, blacksmith, pies), buy a house at the Dweller Camp and rent it out asap. Set price at *Highest* and wait till you have enough money to buy a second house. Repeat the same steps and at the end of the game the fortune raising won't be a problem! Villagers won't hate you after u defeated the Crawler (set price to normal after)
@Kooth2 Oh yea and do as many quest as possible meantime. This way you will just earn the required money overtime. So it's wise to safe as much as quests possible till the end. Opening Demon Doors and Silver Chests also provided to be a really good help. At the end of my game I had 11 million gold ;D
If you're going to use my stretegy than in order to not be hated by your tenents then buy the small stalls and set the prices to low. This will counter act the fact that you set the shops and houses in millfields to highest but at the sametime you still get money from the stalls
Lol I got one of ny friends to send me one million gold in the beggining of the game. I then bought all the houses in Millfields and all the shops, i set the shops and houses either to high or highest and by the time i became ruler i had 6 million
Thatsourgaming Ya I do the same over and over lol gest makes shere you get all the Blacksmith chests unlocked from The Road to Rule it makes it easyer to get the gold faster but you need to try and stay on gold multiplier leval ten and dude why did you not have Logan kill'ed!? I know it is a evil act but if you good befor and after that point nothing bad happens
@TheEliteConsortium OR you could have just bought all of the shops in Albion, waited to raise money and then done it, it would have been alot easier and you wouldn't of had to waste time on the Blacksmithing shit.
Funny thing when I just did it I finished good, keeping all promises and saved everybody. But I was already a millionaire, so I had the money up front!

ok all you must do is sleep for 15(game)hours and then play the lute minigame.they will start to reapear.i tried this and it works.and there will be no dead bodies.so if you see people lying down they will be begars.sorry for my bad english.i am a greek guy
The first time I played this game, the ending made me tear up a little. I don't know about ya'll but i get into the game, and i don't know. It just made me a little sad haha. But this is a great game, i love playing it over and over again!
I just kept all the promises and make the money for the dept by playing the guitar and buying houses.. I was good rich at the same time :D everybody was happy!

My very first playthrough: I kept all my promises, when it came to taxation and the guard budget i kept them as they were, i only raised enough to save a little of 100,00 of Albion's population of 6,000,000... so yeah, I was a poor ruler.
I didnt really like this game, its too much choice things and the outcomes are horriffic, i didnt want to be ruler , its better being sum1 ppl arnt like ohh hey evrybody luk its da king , lyk shut up, and another thing , dere was barely any customisation in this , no armour or kwl clothes not many weapons, too short, only good thing was the combat.

I was evil. The only promise I kept was to the Aurorans. I had to they saved my life in the desert. I didn't mean to be evil it was just...Reaver. I couldn't tell him no. I really tried, but I just couldn't. Damn him and his general awesomeness.

just beat the game, no civilian casualties, no one hates me, and when i walk past the 47 ppl in bowerstone who love me i get guild emblems. if you wanna finish good, save up over 8 million in gold.
i don't think i'm going to lose anyone, i'm keeping all my promises and already have over six million in the treasury and another 3 mil personal. so after a few more side quests i'm gonna finish the game and see if everyone is alive, if not i want a refund.
i got good ending every1 was ded i got the key in treasury so transfered my personal to albion about 9-10 mil i forgot to oput back in mine and suddenly people started appearin in albion the only bad thing i did was mine bower lake its because my headphones fell off all i heard was mine something im gonna do a second run through :}
i had 42 million coins and saved everyone and i was still good if u want a few million coins them post something on this page but i only trade money with certain weapons
It's so lame, you are evil no matter how you end it. You can either be an Ass, exploit your people and safe everyone. Or be a nice guys and let everyone die.. WTF?
i had like 5 mil gold, but i used it to get the key on top of your own gold pile and then it wouldnt let me put it back in te kingdoms treasury so i went to war with minus 50,000 pissed me right off
You guys don't get it do you..? To save lots of people you need to have lots of gold before the war starts in the treasury, right? If you still haven't caught on. Use your OWN funds, like buy lots of properties before you become king/queen. Rent out and just don't rush and save up a few mil and deposit it into the treasury. You can still become a good king making a few "bad/evil" decisions, just keep your promises. That's how you save lots of people and let them like you :)
fable III was such a let down, I liked the way they were going but its only 1 to 2 days worth of gameplay. so short is this game I totally disregaurd the good things cuz it pissed me off to much
Ugh. This is part I hate about this game--I stink at making money in the game, and I ended up with a rather dissatisfying ending where I was good, but eveyone died. How the hell am I supposed to make 8.5 million gold whilst being good?!
I kept all my promises and picked only good decisions as king but I was still able to keep every one alive. It helps if you buy shops and keep houses above 70% condition they pay out more that way. Also horde gold in your personnel account and make deposits into the royal account before and after making decisions to cover the difference and cushion the account. Sell the mansions in mill fields if you need some fast cash but make sure the house is at 100% and you redecorated it nicely.

i finished the game but the problem is that the only few little survivors HATES me but its weird ...because i make the right choice for my people and nobody loves me Dx
the people are retard because i stoped the invasion and nobody is happy so..i started a new character but the problem is that i want my people back and i want all the people to love me :(...can sombody can help me and tell me how to do that. :(

@FallOutGurlCliche actualy, I'm doing the same thing. I'm investing in realestate, lots of money in that stuff. So hopefull by the time I become king, I can have enough money to make all the good choices and build an army at the same time
@warhero1645 Oh, and I must tell you, find your silver keys too. Some silver keys boxes contain money. I found two boxes with 50 thousand gold. I think there's a total of fifty keys. It helps, ya know. ^.^
@FallOutGurlCliche I re-finished the game a few days ago. in the end, nobody died and I got my angel wings. I feel so accomplished, made me realize that I need a life and should stop playing videogames for a while. aha, but now I'm gunna try to get the legendary weapons

I too finished the game, got a bustling town, and got my awesome angel wings, though I didnt see them at all during the final battle (I'm a gun slingin' magic girl) lol. I kept all the promises had fuck all money saved and everyone died BUT I made ppl come back by playing the lute and then chatting to them and I even married one of the ppl who came to watch me play.After I got kids with that person lots of ppl came back.By now I paid all the treasury depts and my town is just as full as b4.I found it better that way cuz after u beat the darkness u have something to do.
i am currently keeping all promisses and have 4mill in my tresury with 239 or sumin like that days left its takin gforever i have to spend like 3 hours of each day wroknig my ass off te get all the gold
And then, I remembered my million and I went to the sanctuary and I was like,"Jasper, get the F**K OUTTA MY WAY! GET TO DA GOLD ROOM! I depo'd it but there were still some, SOME, people in the streets, maybe one or two per block after the battle. (sigh) I miss Page.
I had a little over a mil, probably like 1062000, and I was at 121 days and then the next day as it loads, I see days left til attack: 1. I was like, AAWWW CRAP!

The first time I played this game, the ending made me tear up a little. I don't know about ya'll but i get into the game, and i don't know. It just made me a little sad haha. But this is a great game, i love playing it over and over again!

I just kept all the promises and make the money for the dept by playing the guitar and buying houses.. I was good rich at the same time :D everybody was happy!
... that's until i finished the game and killed a bunch of people of course..

I don't get it..... i did all the good choices, and earned 6'500'000 from jobs and extremely high rent. after the story, i lowered all the rents again but EVERYONE hates me... why?

My very first playthrough: I kept all my promises, when it came to taxation and the guard budget i kept them as they were, i only raised enough to save a little of 100,00 of Albion's population of 6,000,000... so yeah, I was a poor ruler.

I didnt really like this game, its too much choice things and the outcomes are horriffic, i didnt want to be ruler , its better being sum1 ppl arnt like ohh hey evrybody luk its da king , lyk shut up, and another thing , dere was barely any customisation in this , no armour or kwl clothes not many weapons, too short, only good thing was the combat.

just beat the game, no civilian casualties, no one hates me, and when i walk past the 47 ppl in bowerstone who love me i get guild emblems. if you wanna finish good, save up over 8 million in gold.

i had like 5 mil gold, but i used it to get the key on top of your own gold pile and then it wouldnt let me put it back in te kingdoms treasury so i went to war with minus 50,000 pissed me right off

You guys don't get it do you..? To save lots of people you need to have lots of gold before the war starts in the treasury, right? If you still haven't caught on. Use your OWN funds, like buy lots of properties before you become king/queen. Rent out and just don't rush and save up a few mil and deposit it into the treasury. You can still become a good king making a few "bad/evil" decisions, just keep your promises. That's how you save lots of people and let them like you :)

Ugh. This is part I hate about this game--I stink at making money in the game, and I ended up with a rather dissatisfying ending where I was good, but eveyone died. How the hell am I supposed to make 8.5 million gold whilst being good?!

I kept all my promises and picked only good decisions as king but I was still able to keep every one alive. It helps if you buy shops and keep houses above 70% condition they pay out more that way. Also horde gold in your personnel account and make deposits into the royal account before and after making decisions to cover the difference and cushion the account. Sell the mansions in mill fields if you need some fast cash but make sure the house is at 100% and you redecorated it nicely.

That would explain why Walter says queen now. It's most likely this person had a female protagonist for Fable II.
Or it's just randomly generated. xD

@warhero1645 Oh, and I must tell you, find your silver keys too. Some silver keys boxes contain money. I found two boxes with 50 thousand gold. I think there's a total of fifty keys. It helps, ya know. ^.^

I too finished the game, got a bustling town, and got my awesome angel wings, though I didnt see them at all during the final battle (I'm a gun slingin' magic girl) lol. Anyway, I totally agree on the taking a break on video games. I spent way too much sitting infront that TV trying to gain 6.5 million. Anyway, now, I've got gold doors to open, and clothes buy!

I kept all the promises had fuck all money saved and everyone died BUT I made ppl come back by playing the lute and then chatting to them and I even married one of the ppl who came to watch me play.After I got kids with that person lots of ppl came back.By now I paid all the treasury depts and my town is just as full as b4.I found it better that way cuz after u beat the darkness u have something to do.

You allegedly have 365 days, but those days don't advance if you don't do the main quest. You have an infinite amount of time to build up your funds.
