I don't like the throwing part either. But playing with the dog? Why not, we have had 5 ferrets at once and the played with every other animal that we had. We had dogs and cats that they play with, and the dogs and cats never hurt them. They had a litter box that they used, and lived outside the cage. The only time they were put in a cage was when no one was going to be at home. Which usually there was someone there at all times.

Ferrets have very tough skin and enjoy rough play, trust me you would know if the ferret wanted to end play because it would hurt the dog before the dog hurt it. Animals have different tolerance to pain than humans do. Yes humans are animals as well but we release different pain supressing chemicals from our spinal chords than animals do. (im a bio major btw). Im not referring to sentimental feelings.

Ok, I grew up with ferrets( having up to ten at a time) it is ok to pick them up by the scruff...BUT no you do not throw them...they are tough and play hard....BUT the are also every tender. Plus white ferret with black eyes are 9 times out of 10 deaf so not so bright on letting it play with the dog....if you want to own an animal like this you need to understand its needs and safety issues.

@RichieSam5 yeah hobs are males and yeah there addorable they dont smell if you have there glans takin out unfortunatly they still have them under there eyes aswell as under there tails but if you have the glans takin out at the vets and bath them once a month they shouldent smell at all and if you have enough time to train them they dont get into everything x :D x my ferrets are really good like that and dont smell at all it just takes time and if thats they case why not get a rat i have 2 x

i personally had two ferrets, (one passed away). the other loves to play with my dog and cats. they are all family and get along. it depends on the dogs, yes, but most get along with dogs. as far as them throwing the ferret. he didn't "throw" the ferret. he merely tossed him. ferrets and very flexibly and pliable. not a prob.

I don't like the throwing part either. But playing with the dog? Why not, we have had 5 ferrets at once and the played with every other animal that we had. We had dogs and cats that they play with, and the dogs and cats never hurt them. They had a litter box that they used, and lived outside the cage. The only time they were put in a cage was when no one was going to be at home. Which usually there was someone there at all times.

First off, throwing the ferret was REALLY Fd up!!! But for all of you people who dont understand ferret play, they were playing together!!! Ferrets have very tough skin and enjoy rough play, trust me you would know if the ferret wanted to end play because it would hurt the dog before the dog hurt it. I have 4 ferrets and they ALWAYS play rough its just in their nature and besides the dogs tail was wagging the whole time so u know it was just playing. Know ur info before talking smack!!!!

I saw my dog lay and cry for I don't know how long when her pup died. When you correct your pet for doing something wrong, can you not see that his feelings get hurt? When an elephant loses a calf the whole herd mourns that loss, the mother will stay there by its side for hours on end. Animals do have feelings though.

@MsJadedmind yes i understand your question. i also have a dog. ive had him for 12 years now and i love him very much. this response was to those that put other species lives as equal to humans. what i meant by feelings is more specifically pain. Animals have different tolerance to pain than humans do. Yes humans are animals as well but we release different pain supressing chemicals from our spinal chords than animals do. (im a bio major btw). Im not referring to sentimental feelings.

Ok, I grew up with ferrets( having up to ten at a time) it is ok to pick them up by the scruff...BUT no you do not throw them...they are tough and play hard....BUT the are also every tender. Plus white ferret with black eyes are 9 times out of 10 deaf so not so bright on letting it play with the dog....if you want to own an animal like this you need to understand its needs and safety issues.

I'm gonna be hated for this.. but when did ferrets become so fragile? small dog like that and if the ferret didn't like it it would run away or make a sound not to mention puff it's fur like a cat would when it's aggressive. Ferrets love to play rough, and I've seen them scuffle alot harder then this. as for the throw... I can't really defend that one, mine like be tossed onto a soft landing or into a hammock but that one was bad. said my piece, start hating.

I For one have a Ferret and he can get rough at times I send him to a lady that watches him while im out of town and he plays with her big Great Dane and cats and she lets him run around all the time as i do to sense i have 3 Huskys. As far as the ferret vs dog and people not letting dogs play with ferrets, you don't give ferrets enough credit. They are crafty little bastards and surprisingly tough. My aunt owns a husky and two ferrets and when those two ferrets get loose, they whoop that husky's ass every time and the husky enjoys it. i personally had two ferrets, (one passed away). the other loves to play with my dog and cats. they are all family and get along. it depends on the dogs, yes, but most get along with dogs. as far as them throwing the ferret. he didn't "throw" the ferret. he merely tossed him. ferrets and very flexibly and pliable. not a prob.
