@WorldWideLighthouses But I have seen pictures of Mortehoe; and Bull Point lighthouse is the best thing to see there! It would be better if those ruddy Diaphones worked!
@Umpqua1012 To be honest, you cant really judge these places - they don't look how you'd imagine them when you are there! I don't think its a popular enough tourist destination to warrant the use of the diaphones, whilst the horns at more popular places like Lizard and Pendeen are out of use.
i lived and worked in woolacombe for a number of years. i especially loved a little restaurant in morthoe that served the best gigantic garlic mushrooms ever. nice pics. x
Great pics. My friend lives in Mortehoe hope to visit it one day. Alas I live in NZ too and Mortehoe is a long way away. Guess I will have to be content with what I have,
Hi, Ive just been to Morthoe and Woolacombe area for a long weekend, ive been going there almost every year since I was tiny for about 40 years, seen a lot of changes in that time. Why did you move from the area? Its one of my favourite ever places and I always wanted to end up living there, dont know if I ever will, I have relatives on exmoor who live in a Tiny village near Dunster.
Hi, I was rasied in Woolacombe and my family orginate from Wooly and Morte. I have moved to NZ this year and it was lovely to find your video, some lovely memories ... wonder why I moved now !!!!
Lovely vid altho I was born in bristol I feel that woolacombe/morthoe is my real home since thats where my dads side of the family originate from. I go there numerous times each year & on holiday too & visit the graves of my Great Grand-Parents in Morte Graveyard (the one near morte point). My Great Grand-Parents owned one of the cottages at the far end of mortehoe (If u go towards woolacombe)I'll def b living there one day though.
Loved your video, brought back lovely memories. I come from Morte too, left in 1988 to live in New Zealand. Went back once in 1990, would love to come home again, maybe one day. I've still got rellies at North Morte Farm so keep up with all the gossip.
In the 1970s and 80s I used to play at the Ship Aground, the Chichester Arms in Morte and some places in Woolacombe.
My favorite place in Mortehoe is Bull Point lighthouse!

@WorldWideLighthouses All three of those lighthouses you mentioned are my favorites; now excepting Pendeen; as it is now closed to the public!
