Should have bought a Seagrave Heavy Rescue truck on a Marauder II platform.
You say they fall apart? The only way they fall apart is when your dinky town's employees fail to use it properly. Our equipment works VERY well in much harder environments (New York City) including high density/high rise urban environments.
@afcgeo Well actually, considering New York roads are all paved, of course they wouldn't break.
However, in Victoria especially, bushfires and accidents often happen on rural or unsealed roads, or in areas of low quality. Not to mention exposure to weather you would not see in NYC.
Therefore, reliability is paramount when selecting a truck for CFA use, even if it is a road-rescue vehicle.
@chechnya Alot of firefighters in Queensland have said the trucks unsuited to the conditions in which they operate, which is why all the Lafrances are now withdrawn from frontline service and are just used at the training college
does this rescue have any pump capacity? Still a very nice looking unit, nice bit of dry area at the rear in wet weather with the door up.
