  • and the pixelated screen keeps coming back on reboot..... no custom logo

  • Not getting any prompts for superuser access...

  • Hey, I'm running GB 2.3.5 Illuminance 3.0 with the samuri kernal, can I still use this method or will it screw stuff up?

  • is it work on MIUI ROM?

  • my phone just pops up a white screen nothing else even with jig

  • Just recently got Captivate, and updated firmware to 2.2 (official). Baseband version I897UCKB2. Kernel 2.6.32.9. Build number FROYO.UCKB2. I'm on T-mobile, and white AT&T logo annoys the hell out of me. I followed these instructions, but all it did is inserted the custom logo in front of ATNT one. Now the phone boots with 2 logos. Any way to change that and get rid off white AT&T logo once a for all? ALSO, I want to replace AT&T boot animation with something else as well. Any pointers? Thanks!

  • @tvay04 flash a new kernel

  • For some reason im using a i9000 rom but whenever i try to get it to work superuser wont work and it wont pop up! D:

  • maybe its because i am using a UCKF1 based rom... the same thing happened to me that happened to p1 gnome... the new soft brick screen is just download mode. with mine i hade to restart my p.c. to get oden to recognize, the new soft brick screen is download mode i think... weird thing is that on one of my cappys it worked and i have a pre att bootscreen that i put in, and my other cappy will not let me flash the param file. it just stops.. any idea how to get rid of att boot on one or fash parim

  • hey josh... you are the man.. thanks for unbricking my hard bricked cappy. you were prompt an i got it back in like 4 days... perfect eclair stock to tweak as i may... i have flashed the bootscreen with this setup , but i still cant remove the att boot. it just puts the jlg of my choice in for a couple of secs befor att bootscreen. is this correct? how can i get rid of the att screen?

  • Using you may 6th[XDA] dropbox file seems only for i9000 bootloader on my Captivate continuum6.2b1.

Using galaxys-bootloader-JVB.tar.md5 worked fine, but broke when I shifted to OneClickI897UCKF1-bootloaders.exe

A 2nd problem with inability to give stably "su", I reflashed[failed] the i897 BL and went to a new kind of soft brick[for me]. NO DL screen could be gotten, not even with your USB tool, but ODIN3 1.82 still recognized it. Screen shown: "diagonal smash broken image".

  • that IS a very important step. i shall subscribe to your awesomeness Josh. haha

  • im running serendipity VII build 2. I followed the tutorial carefully but it didn't work for me....

  • . I dont plan on changing it though, was just curious. . Im rockn the MTV BS til the end..

  • Thanks buddy, you always do awesome work.

  • Hey josh, do i have reflash the param.lfs everytime if wanna change my image or can i just run the. Bat after swapping out images?

  • @wellsfnd You need to reflash every time.

  • works like a charm, the file was 98 kbs

  • wtf i did this and it doesnt even explain

  • PLEASE repost the t959 link!

  • can you please repost the T959 link. when i click on it it goes to mediafire and says the file was deleted.

  • I am trying to download the T959 boot package on your site, but when I click the link to mediafire, it says "invalid or deleted file".

  • Haha after all that I now have your logo to begin with, then the damned AT&T screen, then the samsung boot animation lol.

  • I did this just as follows and I am running GR-12. But I still got now boot logo. What do I do to fix this? my logo_ATNT file is only 15kb.

  • @thepandavlog This won't work on Gingerbread ROM's. Go to XDA and then the Captivate Android DEV section and search for my GB boot logo thread.

  • @MobileTechVideos ok THANKS! I have flashed every ROM you have reviewed and you are the best ROM reviewer out there. I am a subscriber for life.

  • @thepandavlog Well thanks for the kind words!

  • @MobileTechVideos Can you give us a link... please?

  • Is this working on a cm7 captivate?

  • To revert back or replace the image you already put, do you have to just change the name and run the .bat file again, or do you have to re flash the param.lfs with odin and then do the other steps? Anyone?

  • Mounting LFS partiation on your phone...

    su: not found

Did not get anything onto my phone. Please help

  • Great vid!!! Just one thing. For my application I had to delete everything on the picture file back to logo_ATNT No .jpg on the end. Not sure why but when this failed several times I tried to manually put the desired pic in using astro/root explorer I noticed that it had .jpg.jpg. So, I started over all the way back to ODIN following this video but deleting back to logo_ATNT and it finally worked, Thanks for all you do. Hope this finds you and your newly extended family well.

  • No chance I can use this on Firefly 2.7, right|? What if I flashed a i9000 based Rom, run this and flashed Firefly over it, will the new logo stick? More importantly, any chance I will be left with a paper weight?

Thanks a lot for these awesome videos!

  • excellent vid!!! i actually pushed a 56kb jpg and it works flawlessly

  • Btw, how about a tutorial on changing the boot screen on a kernel? Is there a possibility? :D

  • @xXWickedNiteXx It's possible but not probable. It involves decompiling, making the edits, then recompiling...I'm not sure I want to cover it for the standard user!

  • @MobileTechVideos Oh okay, but you could do it for the advanced users right? Lol. I asked this so I can change glitterball kernel's boot screen, it has AT&T boot screen. :))

  • So after doing this, will it stick to the system even if you change roms and kernels? I mean the rom and kernel does not override this file right?

  • @xXWickedNiteXx Only thing that affects this is param.lfs. ODIN 1 click will revert it everytime but you can perform the real ODIN flash and omit the param.lfs from the pda package and never lose it.

  • @MobileTechVideos Okay, so I'm doing this right now. What's the difference between the i897 eclair and i897 froyo batch file?

  • @xXWickedNiteXx Eclair sdcard path is /sdcard and froyo's is /mnt/sdcard so I made a change in the script. The param.lfs is the same.

  • yeah does it work on andromeda? thanks man

  • @MrSanjeezy No i9010 at this time.

  • @MobileTechVideos thank you sir:)

  • What version of Odin are you using...? I downloaded the one you have on your page, and I don't have any of those extra options.

  • @Mizu0Fuu0Dama It's in the package man... ;) Download the boot screen package and it's inside.

  • I assume an i9010 (Armani) build will work as well? (ie, Andromeda)

  • During odin I pressed start and didn't show any progress on param.lfs. My screen just turned off :[

  • Quick question...may sound dumb. What's the size and how do you resize the picture you want? Tried something diff and it showed up as small picture in the top left corner.

  • @condork464 I use IRFanview. It's freeware picture software. Has a nice resize feature in it...

  • So...this should work on Cognition...?

  • Thanks a million Josh. You're an important member of XDA specially for us noobs.

For other noobs I tried a 54KB boot logo and it worked.

  • Your tutorial and time on this is Awesome thank you for the tips. I followed all the steps and it all worked out fine. I have the new Boot Screen presenting and then right after that screen the original ATnT Logo appears again. Any clues or other steps I should try in order to remove all traces of the ATnT Logo?

  • @hkeyman The second logo is the kernel screen. I don't have any method of replacing other than flashing a different kernel. I'm going to be looking into writing a script to decompile a kernel, make the logo change and recompile it to all people more flexibility.

  • @Thnikk What happened?

  • Also, I'm sorry you had issues. I've use it multiple times and so have others. I'm guessing maybe you attempted to flash a non i9000 based rom?

  • no more adb commands only a few clicks!

    many thanks !!!!
