I love my 2008 R32. The DSG tranny is awesome. Almost everyone who rides in my car praises the quick, smooth-shifting transmission. And with paddle shifters, auto-stick, and sport mode, I don't miss the clutch pedal at all...although I do think of how horrible a clutch pedal would be when I am in stop-and-go traffic. LOL

It is equipped with a Direct Shift Gearbox, it is an automatically shifted manual transmission. The transmission has two clutches that will have one clutch selecting a gear while the other is anticipating your next shift ready to select the next gear. This allows for the internals for a manual gearbox while being able to shift incredibly fast.

@nphilippou The stock DSG is pretty durable but you can get the DSG itself remapped to match up with the output from the turbo. A few guys in the UK with big bhp GTIs have had their DSGs remapped with very good results.
