I learned the word "slut" from this show when I was 13. I had no idea it was a bad word. My dad (who was my best friend and was never angry with me) found out I jokingly called a friend that and I could see him holding back laughter trying to explain why I shouldn't use that word. I'm 38 now and that moment still makes me laugh! This show got me through my teens with a smile. :)

@Gidgetx2 you're not along. as a gay man i can say i have a number of friends who know every episode word 4 word too! at a time before the internet, it's true what rue once said: in gay bars through out america, on saturday nights the music was turned down, everyone hushed, we settled back to watch the latest episode & laughed in unison!
whenever i feel down, i watch an episode & i'm brought back 20 yrs to those wonderful saturday nights! nothing has replaced those 4 wonderful women, nothing!
I love this show and in just recent years i started watching it. I regret not watching the show sooner. I really miss Estelle and Bea. Its hard to find a show like golden girls.
i think that they need to bring more shows like this one. of course, this is an original... but wao.. the newer generations are still watching.. this was a great show.. my favorite was dorothy, and in the end, she gets her prince... i love this show. thanks for the video. i was in tears to the end...
i'm 15 and this is one of my most favorite shows, I love sofia, she reminds me of my grandma before she died. Sofia will always be remembered ( dont know her real name )
I remember that show very well. It was really really famous here in germany even though lots of jokes got lost in translation. I loved it when i was a kid and i didnt even understand all the jokes. The cool thing is it's still on air here and entertains all those earlybirds in the morning. Boy... what an evergreen. Good old fashioned entertainment with a rebellious touch.
Oh how I loved (and still love) this show. They don't make them like that anymore. This was a wonderful homage to the show and a great trip down memory lane. Thank you so much for posting it.
@oohcool its been two years since you had posted. Let me add RIP Bea Arthur and my ultimate favorite Rue McLanahan. May GOD keep Betty alive long enough so that my children can laugh at her.
You don't have to describe the shows much for me,I have see all of them and me and my 13 y.o.daughter watch them over and over.I tivo all episodes and we love to watch them at bedtime.Me and my daughter have develop special bonding about this. When she comes back from school and she is tired o frustrated or me from work first thing we said is let's watch golden girls.Thank you girls. They are wonderful writers, but you are magnificent actreesses.I would like to see Stele in these interviews
Seeing Bea cry broke my heart... :'( This is a wonderful show. I own all the seasons on DVD and still look for the clips on youtube, that's how much I love it! Wonderful! Thanks!
This show will always live on because it has people from my generation still interested and even younger yet :) Truly a inspiration in Televisio history.
well I have the first 4 seasons on dvd so it ain't over yet... I watch the Golden Girls any chance I get and that Sophia will always be my favorire character. I hear that Estelle Getty has been suffering from Dementia for the past decade and does not remember anybody from the cast nor does she remember ever being part of the Golden Girls. She has been living in a nursing home for quite a number of years now...sad story but she has had an incredible time on the golden girls.
