@GargantulaKon Yep, that's pretty much it. It really depends on your set up where you want to set it at. I have mine set at 4200 RPM, mainly cause it's a little easier on the clutch when it's set lower. If you want to get the most power on your launch set it where your torque peaks. When you rev it up, the RPM will not go above whatever you set the launch control at, until you release the clutch.
@crowel57 Thanks. I set mine to 3000 at first and now at 3500 so that I do not blow up my car. The 2002 WRX model for my car does not detect the position of the clutch so I assume it stops holding the rev after 1-3 mph. That is why I cannot have flat foot shifting.
when im in 1st gear and floor it, my acceleration isnt powerful. it doesnt pull. if i buy the accessport will my acceleration be quicker? i only have an intake on my car, and im putting my godspeed catback exhaust on sunday, and the car has pulleys. if u go on my channel and watch the video "wrx boostin" u can see what i mean and hear it. im still learnin about subies, i just got my license a week ago lol
@Drektek it's hard on the car, but it's called brake boosting. hold down the brake, gas to where you want your rpms at and release the brake. it's a little gentler on rwd automatics, but beats up awd drive trains a little more .. don't do it often lol. : ). I suggest reading up on a subie forum and see what other automatic owners are doing at the drag strip, you will find all the info you need.
@Drektek Automatic Subarus have built in LC! You can powerbreak the car and that will give you LC! If you need to change the LC, you basically need to do this via the torque converter and stall speed.
What RPM should the launch control be set at? I assume I just floor it and let it sit there building boost and then let go of the clutch?
