  • Yes, however, the lyrics say, "HIDES bruises", meaning that she is being abused at home, but doesn't want people to notice.

  • I think it works both ways..real bruises and metaphorical bruises. I'm not sure how Haught meant it to be taken, but that's always been my feeling about it.
