This song touched me when I first heard it.I had a difficult period about that time too.I was graduating from college back then and without my partner.The beauty and the magic of this song,,along with the wistful sadness touched me...as only a few other songwriters could.Thanks James!

Thats too funny..When i first heard this song i was graduatuing college too. I was lonely and hopeful..But it made me want to see paradise and I listened to this song for months strait.. it is still one of my favorite songs!! Brings back alot of good memories!!!

What a poet !

He came to Rio in 1985 ( Rock in Rio ) and at that time his carreer was down.

Well, he felt so captivated for the audience in the show that he got engaged to the moment of the country...Brazil was to have presidential elections after years of military regim...James caught all that feeling and in the next year came back with this brillant song...i listened to him alive in 1986 at Canecao..it was a glory to hear some verses in Portuguese...My gratitude to JT !
