it'll run better if they are using the amd neo processor instead of this intel atom.. it's kinda shitty..plus running with windows VISTA on it.. i can't imagine how slow it's gonna be... well atleast i think the SSD version one's gonna be alittle big better.. just a little bit.
I'm sorry this is a little to much money for portability. You could buy a mac for the same price. but if there's a place in this struggling economy for this go for it
this one has a gps and 3g slot standard, ssd capac. 1,4 lbs...1600x768 res display, bluetooth, wifi n, all standard. Ah...and its NOT a ATON crap process.
what i mean is: this is not the 1,3mhz. theres a 1,6 and 1,8 mhz option...i have a 1,6 mhz and edit videos on After effects easy. the propouse of this machine is portability, only.
well, yea, its kind of in the netbook area size wise, which is nice, right?
But with a SSD a 1.86 GHz it should be pretty fast
of course not as fast as one with a dual core or something, but then again, the only reason why its this light, small and silent is because it has a "weak" Atom processor.
i know it should be amazing, but it is 10 inches, which is way bigger than this.
you cant really compare them, this is for mobility - yet it should be fast, the booklet is more of a netbook (or as they said it: a space between smartphones and computers).
i agree kinda, but dude, say it nicely. he didnt have to upload the vid for you, and you didnt have to watch it either. such harsh words are hardly called for. and in my experience, showing the ports in a review is always the most boring part~ i already know what a usb/lan/ethernet port looks like, i dont need to see it.
I am kind of wondering though... Have you had a chance to check out the video playback? specifically the youtube HD video playback or any sort of web-based flash?
That's a huuuge point right there and is the main deciding factor between the Vaio P and the Vaio FW390 CTO.
I've got the "old" Sony VAIO FW139E/H and I'll be getting the Sony VAIO P90 for 1800 dollars from Japan. I heard the video playback is horrible on the 1.33 GHZ version but with the 1.86 GHZ, You should be fine.
Hmm. not really in the mood to spend 2g on a portable laptop should be fun but if that's the case I'd just get a FW series as it'd be more powerful for alot less money, at that point I'd deal with the larger size or id buy a TT series
I'll try out the 1.33, and maybe make some tweeks, if I don't like it then I'll just return it and get what I need
hopefully newer drivers will help out as the h264 native decoding for 720p shouldnt be slowed down much

is it possible to connect any kind of external mouse instead of that tiny tiny mouse ball thingy??
If I had the money I would buy the SSD version, this is amazing, but expensive...

Yeah, go with the FW series, but if money is no object. Get the Sony VAIO P, and get it imported from Japan xD
EliteSoldier112 3 years ago
again, I would, but portability is a bigger factor @tm xD
otherwise, I'd go for the FW no question :P
