The karateka is still a beginner coz if he's a pro, those low kicks he did will made the opponent down instantly because of leg broken or something. Well you know, the title said that it's kyokushin, i do Kyokushin and Muay Thai as well so i know the real one will do the "Shin" conditioning in order to deal a massive damage while doing low kicks. Not just a decoration skill to take points and no damage like in this video. But anyway, their fighting spirits were "ok"

@DhuTurlough I agree with you to a degree. Style really has no impact on a person's ability to fight BUT your school will have a huge impact. The saying 'I'd rather be flattened on a good mat than winning on a crappy one' is often misunderstood but it's true to a degree. If you have strong classmates to compete against and train/spar hard you'll generally be stronger, fitter and faster than you would be if you're the best in a school full of wimps. Pain is a great motivator.
kyokushin fighters are really tough because they do a lot of full contact sparring no pads/gloves so in this type of contest they usually have an edge
at the street, Wing Chun is so aplicable and usefull, but at the ring they are so weak, they need more improvisation. i'm a Wingchuner but i mix it with Boxing and Muaythai.. i like Jin Young(thechinaboxer) Method.to Modified Wingchun With Muaythai,Boxing, and Grappling...
This must be a sport with rules and regulations, I hope those guys don't fight like this in real fights, did you see how they ever open to everykind of attack? and every attack they did was so ineffective? No ground fighting techniques - a Wing Chun student is taught little about what to do when he falls over. Wing Chun knowledge will help him there, but this art does not specialise

That's romantic craptalk. Of course there are more or less good styles for ringfights. For example you can't expect a WTF taekwondo guy to manage vs a Muay Thai guy if leg kicks are allowed, simply because the tkd guy is used to protection gear and no leg kicks.
@Flyingtart doesn't matter. when we say fight. it means do what it takes to put that opponent to the ground. if the TKD guy knew what he was doing then he can block those kicks. no excuse. what are you gonna say in a street fight? "don't kick me i can't block"

The guy in black is not even using vertical strikes, if that's wing chun then it's Japanese wing chun karate.. His elbows are not positioned right, he doesn't guard the centreline, if you watch properly he is not applying constant forward pressure but the biggest give away of all is the way he engages the other guy, looks more like he's trying to use Aiki-jitsu... Definitely not wing chun, what a disgrace, people have to sink to lies to convince people that their style is best.
This guy in black is a shame. Whether he is WT practicioner or not. I've learned WT for 1 year but my technique is far more effective than his. He could have K.O. the karate guy with a simple tan sau - chain punch - groin kick combination. A first level aprentice is better than this.
@artpwnify you didn´t see any wing chun technique because most of then are focused on striking the face and the reason because you didn´t see any technique of this martial art is because the rules of the fight are kyokushin tournament rule,(any proteccion but without hiting the face with hand attaks) .

This must be a sport with rules and regulations, I hope those guys don't fight like this in real fights, did you see how they ever open to everykind of attack? and every attack they did was so ineffective? Hate so say it but a someone who had few street fight experience can easyly take on those two in a real fight situation, because those guys train all their lives with traditional rules and limitations that has very little to do with reality.

That's romantic craptalk. Of course there are more or less good styles for ringfights. For example you can't expect a WTF taekwondo guy to manage vs a Muay Thai guy if leg kicks are allowed, simply because the tkd guy is used to protection gear and no leg kicks.

If someone had great 'personal ability' but no formal training or 'style'... would that person beat someone who did train in a martial art, but had lesser 'personal ability'? It's really amusing how Wing Chun dreamers get all upset and offended when discovering it lacks of reality check. In Wing Chun, instead of properly train how to kick and box etc., you waste lots and lots of time with useless bullshit like Chi Sao (Sticking hands) and other choreographed, complicated, useless constructs. If you want to know how to fight, take a serious look at real fighters like Bas Rutten, Mark Kerr etc. They only use what works.

The guy in black is not even using vertical strikes, if that's wing chun then it's Japanese wing chun karate.. His elbows are not positioned right, he doesn't guard the centreline, if you watch properly he is not applying constant forward pressure but the biggest give away of all is the way he engages the other guy, looks more like he's trying to use Aiki-jitsu... Definitely not wing chun, what a disgrace, people have to sink to lies to convince people that their style is best.

This guy in black is a shame. Whether he is WT practicioner or not. I've learned WT for 1 year but my technique is far more effective than his. He could have K.O. the karate guy with a simple tan sau - chain punch - groin kick combination. A first level aprentice is better than this.
