  • Boy, feel that breeze..well done..

  • maybe u should buy yourself a real mouse so u can run it even faster(-_-)'

  • WOWOWOOWOWOWOW

    that's amazing

I want to do such a thing :)

  • awesome@!

  • how to make?¿

  • how you do it

  • hi sir m student of Computer science did you help me to stepper motor control plz give me schematic and programming help

  • can it be controlled by a micro controller

  • @jaskiratsingh9216604

yes you can controll whit microcontroler

  • is that a mitsumi m35sp-5?

  • Great video...can you please tell me if i can control this stepper motor using vb 6.0.Please if you please be kind enough to tell me how you connect the program with the parallel port. is it by using the inpout32? MANY THANKS. and great job.

  • cool!! and realy useless....I like this stuff. ;) what about using the motor to turn another mouse? its like remotedesktop for beginners. ;)

Or even if u connect 2 more motors and use an old cable mouse it should be able to move that old mouse over the screen with the 2 motors.

  • how to make it work i got the motor ,but what are the auther components , and how to buil it?could you make a video?

  • I have a detailed description on software and components to make the stepper motor work, it is easier than people think.

    Grettings,

    Vik

  • i had a stepper motor like that, i got it from a laserjet printer, but it consumed a lot of current, what did you use like a interface?

  • gsdgfw

  • nice, could you do this too with an usb port?

  • Yes. Use a stepper motor controller with a usb port.

    robotshop ca/stepper-motor-controllers-2.htm

  • yes but would need a ttl converter witch is very easy to make all you need is max232 IC and some 1uf caps 4 i think

  • AHA!! thnx VERY much this actuay was VERY helpful for me, thnx again

  • Awesome... I did the same thing when first started with stepper motors.

    One more point.

Use some driver CKT in between or you may burn your LPT port. I did that... lol.

  • get a logitech mouse with the rapid scroll wheel, an do it as fast as you can

  • Are there any more powerful, perhaps more dynamic motors that are compatible with a computer?

  • To answer your Question, YES there are bigger Stepper motors available. That looks like a small stepper motor from a Fax machine I got 6 NEMA 23 stepper motors on ebay for $58 bucks. I plan on using them for my CNC Machine. You can get bigger steppers then that. Keep in mind the few I have will be able to handle atleast 100LBS on the Table. They have Nema 34 which would be able to handle up to 200lbs the better. The higher quality the motor Like Pacific Science the more power out of Nema 23

  • Thanks!

  • You can do this with any motor, it's not a matter of compatibility. Steppers are easier to control because they turn using steps (a fixed amount of degrees), hence do not really need closed loop feedback to know what the current angle is.

  • any motor is compatible with a computer, it's all about the circuitry between them

  • very good. can you share the code please

  • yeah great....but how?

  • Bravo I would like the hole story the connections and all the stuff can you help me?

  • what program did u use??:)

  • sweet ... keep up the work .. now u can use it in some appliance...

  • thanks :)

  • cool lol make a door closer out of some like that so u can close ur room door with out geting up and all u have to do is spin ur mouse wheel lol

  • SKY HOOPS!!!! not a compliment at all

  • how fast can it go?

If it goes really really fast, can you stop it with your fingers or sth?

  • It can go fast..but the motor isn't very powerful..you can stop it with your fingers.

  • you could use it for a scroll type book to scrol lolo

  • Can you please tell me is it a bipolar or unipolar stepper motor and what driver did u use?

Thanks. Keep up the good work.

  • It is a unipolar stepper motor. I used a ULN2003 chip

  • what software did you use to control the stepper motor? have any link for it?

  • Hi everybody

Is it the same circuit if we want to connect the stepper motor to computer through an USB connector or Have we to change the circuit?

I'm also wondering to know if you've programmed the control of the stepper motor using an assembly programming language

  • hi, just wondering

how do you program the parallel port to control the stepper using your mouse?

can it also be controlled using keyboard?

  • It can be controlled by almost any control in Visual Studio...

    Great Job ashishrd!

  • Thanks :)

  • Hey there,

Read my article on Coding4Fun. Its about controlling stepper motors with a computer..and controlling it with a mouse wheel.

  • Nice!

  • Great job Ashishrd! love your work.

  • Thanks Mathew. I'm glad you liked it. :)
