U guys only saw half of what happened. My friend and his partner received a call about this guy being an ass and threatening people. They asked him nicely to stepped outside and explained to him why they got called but as soon as the camera started rolling he started acting as if he was the victim! How do you know this guy wasn't innocent? Did anyone actually witness him doing anything wrong? Come to think of it, did anyone hear any of the cops give command voice and verbal warning to get on the ground with hands behind head? If a cop tries to think through a fight or a life or death situation and doesn't react to what's going on, that cop loses. If a person resists arrest, the next level was taken on his part.

Those deputies showed restraint. An arrest is not a negotiation where peace officers explain the reason for arrest, gain the suspects consent, and then treat criminal resistance like it is a constitutional right to dispute their arrest. He should've been subdued more quickly.

Further to my last - if this guy was wanted for a crime, there is still a state mandated force continuum that is supposed to be followed... he didn't appear to be fleeing or attempting to flee... he was simply trying to prevent them getting the cuffs on him... he said he wasn't doing anything wrong... I did not hear any officer even once tell this guy they were arresting him or why they were arresting him... I just saw them pile on and get more and more pissed at the guy for fighting back.

Cops hesitating because they're scared of cameras (because they don't always tell you the whole story) get killed or injured. if a person resists then you take to another level immediately to have the upper hand. If a cop tries to think through a fight or a life or death situation and doesn't react to what's going on, that cop loses. If a person resists arrest, the next level was taken on his part.
