  • I recently bought an xl h1, all my footage has a lot of grain to it "noise" mostly in darker lit areas but still noticeable in well lit areas. I can see it on the lcd while setting up a shot, i see it in raw footage watched from camcorder to tv and while editing. It does not matter what frame rate or anything still same noise i notice. Any ideas. I capture from firewire not a kona card. know that effects it a great deal but i know this footage should look alot better just message my inbox thanks

  • @cleansafe I get that too - it's bloody annoying. Maybe its the lighting settings - but this video doesn't appear to have any proper lights.

  • @zabfan52 Yeah there are no lights set up.

  • @cleansafe Hey I dont know if you found your problem but look at your Gain settings of your camera. There should be a toggle switch from Low Medium High. Make sure your gain is set at 0 while shooting in well lit areas. To make your footage look more crisp on sunny days, adjust your gain to -3. It makes the blacks pop out a lil more. Let me know if this helped!

  • t's a very good camera.
