The Song is obviously about Jack the Ripper, who was of course also known as Leather Apron and known, not for merely butchering his victim, but taking them apart with a surgeon's skill.

The Sandman portion obviously comes from the fact that the Ripper only performed his grizzly acts at night, while most slept.

It's true meaning aside, the song can also fit characters like Freddy Krueger and, of course, Sabaku no Gaara to a T.

Anyway, one of the best AMV I've ever seen. Kudos.

Potato, potahto. One comes from America, the other from Japan. Both are animation. One tends to be more mature than the other, but American animation can be mature too.

Nonetheless, it is a cartoon, the quality of the animation and story notwithstanding. Japan's just caught on that cartoons are not necessarily a kid-only thing.

Uh, I'm sorry, but you're kinda... off a little bit. Anime is a shortened form of animation, which is what most people in the US call cartoons. Anime does sound cooler, but they're essentially the same, except that anime does a better job of appealing to a wide audience (Until it's dubbed, with the possible exception of Hellsing and, you might be able to make a case for Bleach). Also, DragonBall Z got really boring after a while.

Yes, anime is drawn better and yes anime is generally more mature than cartoons. I get that. And also, I was wrong on one thing. Anime, or animatiion from Japan, is a shortened form of Japanimation (according to the anime style book I'm reading). It's not a totally different medium, it simply refers to a different style of animation (super deformed, large eyes, more minimalistic ). I was kind of off when I commented before.
