the main difference between this and the LF version is that this bus is actually nicer looking and a bit longer and the same engine but revs a bit slowly and has a more BOOMING sound
@jfs1988 NABI 60-BRT has a more rounded appearance to the windshield and the front door is a single piece pop-out unit instead of the standard slide-glide doors on the New Flyers. (and most transit buses) The back ends also look different. The NABI brts will have wider slats. I can't post links but you can visit the New flyer website and the North American Bus Ind. website and compare the brt models for each. Visual comparison is probably the best way to learn the differences.
I think the top speed along the line was around 35 - 40mph. Most of the line seemed to be about 25-30 between stops. Generally faster than buses in mixed traffic.
Hey we have only just one of those DE60LFA In Arizona and it only travels Westbound and eastbound to and from Sycamore and Main ST In Mesa AZ Running VALLEY METRO LINK and yes one bus, one to and fro route.
@805219 I should edit the CPTDB wiki to add the engine info for some of the GCRTA units. So I have a couple questions if you don't mind. I assume 2801-45 also have Allison B400R correct? Also are the NovaBus LFS Cummins ISC w/ Allison B400R? I have info for the 2200s, 2400s, 2600s, 2700s, & 6400s. Incidentally I heard the community circulators were cut, what happened with the 6400 (64xx-64xx?) Daimler-Chryslers? If you could help out with some of this that would be great :)
I understand, it's a lot :-D. Mainly it's DE= diesel electric, 60=60 feet long, and LF=low floor. The A I'm not quite sure of but I think it means "advanced design" or something. It means that it's a bus rapid transit styled bus basically.
Doors on both sides?!?!?! BRT???
NovaBUSFan 1 year ago
@NovaBUSFan Yep. In the downtown area there are center platforms where riders board on the driver's side.

How could you tell NABI and New Flyer BRTs apart? What are the similarities and what are the differences?

Most of the 6400's maybe parked over at Triskett, because they repainted some of
them with the current livery and they ran a few of them on the # 83 on weekends.
I did not see them at Woodhill, they have mostly 99's,21's and the Orion uints in
the staging area you can see them from the street.

@805219 Thanks! I was wondering since i've seen short low floors like the 6400's being used for paratransit in other cities.
TheTransitCamera 1 year ago
@805219 Really? Do you think they still run thoses repainted buses that run on the 83 on the weekends?

These buses have the Cummins ISL engine...not the Cat C9.
6V92TA 2 years ago 3
@6V92TA These BRT buses have the Cat engines as the power source, RTA
passed out the spec sheets at the Greater Cleveland Auto Show in Feb.2008
these were the last buses to be ordered with Cat engines, the NABI 2601-2650
and NABI 2801-2845 have CAT engines.

Voice sounds like the one used with MTA NYCs buses that had the Siemens systems installed. Same depressing Stop Requested.

Depends on what the TA wants.

Ok I'm starting to understand it now but whats LFS
jamin108 2 years ago
LFS is "low floor style" thats the term used by NovaBus, a different bus manufacturer.
For New Flyer there is also LFR which means "low floor restyled", the redesign of the original low floor New Flyer which is known as LF.
