  • Lol. Nice. We would like to see you more on youtube, Mr. Congressman. Can't you just make half an hour session of Question/Answer. We could present you our questions via Videos and you could answer those you find most important.

  • ... and again

  • And again...

  • the first time i have seen Kucinich was on the democrat debate on cnn if i was american i would either vote for him or ron paul they are both men with charachter and brains FYI Dennis would be a way better president than eg hillary (puppet) clinton or rudy (PNAC war mongorer) guiliani

    greetz from germany

  • you have my vote

  • Ron Paul does not plan to get rid of Social Security. You have been misinformed.

As for income taxes, they are illegal and unconstitutional.

Big business already "dominates" politics and politicians. The phrase "centralized government" is just rhetoric. It has no real meaning. The thing is that Ron Paul is for neither one, but he will not subvert the Constitution to stop something that evil men and women will continue to do no matter what system is implemented or what law is passed.

  • Obviously if someone wanted to pretend to be a US voter they would have to put USA in their profile! This lunatic QtM claims he can scan IP addresses(1), is part of some group that saves youtube user profiles, and once he targets ppl he spams thie favorites(e.g mine). He has no favorites, friends, subscriptions, but 900 views and 100 channel views. Its a fornt account for spam attacks.

  • woops typo "fornt" account="front" account, an youtube user account set up to spam attacks like his on DK and DK supporters. Just ask "him" who "he" supports. Oh and count his hundreds of posts into DK clips at all hours of the day!

  • Oh, and I see favorites and video were added to the QtM account after I drew peoples attention to how empty it was yesterday-look at the dates added folks. A clip user QtM was just banned from "16 tons" for spamming "say No to Frodo" 100s of times is listed as a favorite!.

  • hi im from england and i dont really know quite how i found this video but anyway i am suprised that you replyed using youtube

    wish our mp did that..

  • QtheMatrix <-- Troll cut'n'pasting spam dirt. How sad.

  • Excellent response, Dennis!

  • The DFA is holding a Presidential Primary Pulse Poll to decide which candidate deserves their support. Please help by voting at:

    DemocracyforAmerica DOT com / VoteKucinich

Poll closes Nov. 5th! Pls vote today!

  • Dennis Kucinich is the ONLY viably candidate that truly cares about the American people!!!

  • I have the utmost respect for Mr. Kucinich. That being said, I am curious as to why you say that he is the only viable candidate when Ron Paul is running? Is it because Mr. Kucinich has said that he would support a new investigation of 9/11 or is it some other reason?

  • If you know you are going to vote Republican then, (in that specific situation), I think Ron Paul would be the only viable candidate. I imagine many Kucinich supporters have a great deal of respect for Paul, particularly for his courageous stand Iraq.

  • I understand. Just to clarify, though, for most people, it's not about who is a Republican candidate and who is a republican when it comes to Ron Paul supporters. Most people are waking up to that divide and conquer illusion.

I am pretty set on Ron Paul because he openly speaks out against the globalists and their plans for a "new world order" and the North American Union. Also, his determination to abolish the Federal Reserve is key.

    cont...

  • continued...

Just when I think that I am set on voting for Ron Paul, I start thinking about Kucinich and realize that this decision will, in no way, be an easy one. I hope and pray for a Paul/Kucinich (or vice-versa) administration.

  • You are right RandleEl11. Voters can't assume anything from candidate's party ticket any more. To me, it seems Clinton and Obama have far more in common with McCain and Guliani than with Kucinich. They all represent a continuation of the same disasterous course. Kucinich has far more in common with Ron Paul than with that crowd. So let's pray together.

  • Let us help get a real person into the presidency. Dennis is ready.

He stands for what most people care about, and comes from a background which has helped him be aware.

Strength through peace make sense. Dennis makes sense ... good common sense.

Elect the man with the plans!

  • I do hope so much that Kucinich gets more support from you people. I'm from germany and i know very well from our own history how a country's population can be tricked into supporting unjustified war, and that's just what happened to you. The Bush administration has caused a lot of fear and anger among most of us europeans. I hope so much that Kucinich gets more support.

  • If the media is not gonna support Kucinich, then it's up to the people to support him. Financing Kucinich is not enouch. We need to inform poeople about him just like Ron Paul supporters. If we dont wake up now, later would be too late.

  • Dennis is the Man. He has my vote.

  • "My Precious!!!"

  • You ought to know.

  • Let us know what we can do! ANYTHING!

Love, Hope, Peace, & Christ Be With You,

    Cal-el

  • please watch and comment on my videos (nice people only)

  • Please view searchword wilburjr-thanks.

  • I like the computer generated office space in the background.

  • Kucinich > Ron Paul, Get over Paul he wants to keep us without healthcare. Look into your shizen!

  • oh please. substance is what matters. Kucinich is the MAN. If he doesn't have a place on the ticket, it says more bad about Americans than it does about him. EDWARDS/KUCINICH 08

  • I like that but can he defeat Hilary and Obama?

  • Kucinich and Elmer Fudd (Ron Paul) would make a dynamic team. One has a decent looking wife and the other used to be the mayor of Cleveland. (rim shot)

These guys have all the charisma of eggplant.

  • We aren't voting for the next celebrity like we did in the past. We are voting for people who will stand up for the Constitution. The Bush Administration has wiped out the Bill of Rights and we don't need to be part of the New World Order.

  • An ageist swine, eh?

  • None of the Republicans will be elected.

  • What a stupid little gayboy that "FactjustFact" homo is. He must think that old fart has a shot. LMAO.

A shot of adrenaline to wake him up maybe. That's about it.

  • My offer stands, you dumbass. I will give you $1,000,000 in cash or a cashiers check if and when RP gets the republican nomination if you will just give me $10,000. That's 100-1 odds on your money if you're so sure. Come on, donkey.

You idiot. You have neither the money nor the balls. Kind of like your idol.

  • OH MY GOD! WHAT CANDIDATE! Freakin' awesome!

  • sounds good to me

  • The corporations can always band together; they do not have to compete as the rule suggests. And a free market (early 1900s) show that they would do anything to stamp out competition. You won't have much of a choice if there's only one company serving the product; you can forget quality too, cause the main interest is profit.

  • I don't believe that socialism is the same thing as a dictatorship. Socialism can be construed as an economical move, but power can still be democratic. I think corporations care more for profits than quality, safety, or wages.

  • Right. I believe that for democracy to exist and be healthy there needs to be a mixture of marxist and capitalistic principles informing our economic policies. At the heart of American liberalissm is striking a balance between the utlitarian free market approach and the marxist approach--a dialectic if you will.

  • Dennis, call Keith Olberman and get on his show now that he knows that impeachment is the proper course to take.

  • (This 500 character limit is killing me! C'mon Google--surely we can do better than this!)

  • I voted for Rep. Kucinich in '04 and was roundly admonished by my friends and family for throwing the election to Bush. They voted for Gore because they thought he could win. I understand the "strategic" thinking behind voting for the candidate who is most "electable," but I can't help it. Dennis is sharp, articulate and eloquent, and he doesn't just talk about values, he lives and breathes them. There's no way I could vote for anyone else. My heart and my head won't allow it.

  • Dennis is exactly what a representative should be--honest, in touch with the people, truly a man of the people. He is also trained and highly competent in the philosophy and practice of nonviolent conflict analysis, resolution and reconciliation.

  • That's the philosophy that Dr. King studied and practiced, and upon which he based the movemements that he led in the 60s. Every problem we face today can be overcome if we approach it on the basis of the principles of nonviolence.

I'll be sending these videos to the people in my "sphere of influence". If every one of you does the same, we can have an impact!

  • You've got to follow your principles. It's the ultimate expression of optimism.

  • You got my vote and my prayers ! GO DENNIS KUCINICH !

  • Hi, Dennis (Mr. Kucinich, Sir)!

Keep listening to us, keep caring about what we think. Stay true to your own principles, and please don't ever sell out! You've done what no other candidate in 34 years (since I turned 18) has done: convinced me to register to vote.

You may be a no-hoper, but my hope's for you.

  • The Clinton 'mean' Smear campaign has started smearing Edwards and Obama.

Soon, they'll go after Kucinich once he begins to rise in the polls.

Google "CLINTON'S PUSHY POLLSTERS" and read the despicable story on newsdaydotcom.

  • What's up with the background. Is that a poster behind him?

  • What's EmergencyCheese? That doesn't sound very vegan to me.

  • This guy's awesome. I knew he had a lot of sensible ideas, but you can see from his video here that he's also a thoroughly decent human being. Lucky US Democrats having someone like this in the race. If I weren't stuck up here in Canada, I'd be helping his campaign for sure.

  • everything this guy was reviled for in cleveland ... ended up saving cleveland 20 years later.

seems as though he has a far sighted vision rather than short term aspirations

the gun control thing is ridiculas though.

  • they aren't killing people over there

do you know that the americans are helping the iraqis. The only reason why you democratics are winning is because you've got the media as a back fire into americas heart.

  • Trechan, sorry to see that you have been brainwashed. Perhaps you have heard of Haditha or Feluja? The U.S. has killed plenty of Iraqis. Plus the U.S. presence as illegal invaders and occupiers is a continuing provocation. If you think the U.S. should be in Iraq then imagine another country invading & occupying your city, taking your natural resources (oil), disrupting water and electricity, and saying it is all "for your own good." Would you accept that? Of course not!

  • According to iraqbodycount(dot)org, the Iraqi civilian death toll of coalition involvement in Iraq is somewhere between 60 and 70 thousand. "Helping the Iraqis," indeed.

  • how the hell am i brain washed if i have parents who go there?

  • Looks set-up to me.

  • how so vuetube??

  • Couple more things. I'm enjoying this exchange -- I don't want you to take it personally -- I'm not. Second, when I equate socialism and dictatorship, it's on a philosophical level. I recognize that the definitions I could refer to don't do so. I do, because I think government-run economies are tantamount to dictatorship.

  • Absolutely. I always have the choice whether or not to buy the products. The ONLY way corporations "control" me is with government help. I've not seen your movie, but in my experience Hollywood has for many years been clueless about how free economies work.

  • How much choice do you feel you have when it come to buying

    1. food

    2. energy

These are two sectors where a few corps have a stranglehold on the public, with the help and blessing of the pols.

  • I disagree there's a minority stranglehold on food. There are myriad small and medium-size brands all over the place. At least that's true at MY grocery store. Sure there's Kraft and Frito Lay and Beatrice and Coca-Cola, but they have their place too, and they're not monopolies anyway. Energy may be more limited but look who CREATED the monopolies -- the GOVERNMENT. Oil is NOT a monopoly, in this country anyway.

  • Food? Look into what % of the basic food crops is owned by 3 major agri-businesses. Everything stems from that.

Oil is not a single monoply, but might as well be. See any competition?

Even if you own land with resources, you are at the mercy of a few companies, who all work together.

  • Government subsidies are a bigger problem than the large companies. If we hadn't made agriculture so dependent on farm-price subsidization, I think we'd all be better off. We have a huge variety of foods available to us today. If that's the "fault" of big agribusiness, then I say great.

  • The consumer is at a loss because of the election system. The special interests can bypass market measures by passing laws favoring them. It's almost as if there's no oversight at all.

  • Yes, socialism is dictatorship, whether it's by virtue of a despot or an out of control government. It enslaves people to each other and makes them dependent on a government whose only interest is in buy your vote with handouts. It can only be maintained by fiat. Not for me, sorry.

  • And when gov't and Big Business conspire to keep wages at less than a living level, they make you dependant on the system. One side screws you economically & the other pretends to rescue with a social program & expects gratitudes for things you should be able to afford from the fruits of your labor.

  • Businesses try to maximize profits. But it's not a conspiracy. You try to pay less at the grocery store too, and no one accuses you of trying to screw the checkout girl (ha!). Higher wages mean you have more to spend with Big Businesses so it's not really to their advantage to keep you poor. Not to say that some big companies aren't rip-off artists.

  • However, your case about "labeling" is well taken, except that at some point, politics falls into categories, and those categories have names. I don't think calling Hitler a Nazi is a "label" unless it's inaccurate. Calling Bush a Nazi or Bernie Sanders a Communist are both inaccurate, and don't even rise the level of labels-- they're just name-calling. Without the categories, or labels, conversation and analysis get pretty complicated, don't you think?

  • You should ask Dennis why he wouldn't kill Bin Laden even if was served up on silver platter for him.

    Dennis is a closet gunslinger

  • Isn't it past time to make the connection...if the msmedia, liberal or conservative (fake) try to ignore and discredit them, it is time to take a closer look!

  • Now THAT is a personable guy

  • Isn't honesty what we desperately need now?

  • Please go to MSNBC and vote for Kucinich. He needs support in the poles to be heard by more people. The issue of impeachment is important because we need to establish a precedent against constitutional abuse by the executive branch.

  • He has moved from 10% approval to 16%.

We can do this...elect someone not bought by the military/industrial/congressional complex.

  • The mistake on the Lake, Dennis Kucinich.

  • Good on ya Dennis!!!!

    You're a legend.

One of the more YouTube engaged candidates.

    Keep it up ; )

  • Good luck, you have my support

  • Not really. If the cash flow is not cut off there is no reason for Bush to bring them home. Because of Bush's insane delusion that he can "win victory" he will not bring the troops home unless the funding is stopped. There is always money to spend to bring troops home and any suggestion by Republicans that the troops will have to hitchhike home because funding is cut off is just a lie.

  • Has anyone else wondered why this looks greenscreened? Or even why there's such a huge echo on his voice?

  • Ditto!

  • I noticed that too, but it's fine with me. His own bedroom would seem a little bit too... small scale. Kucinich = the man!

  • if the money is cut off then thr troops remaining there would be the total option of the president. if he leaves them there with no money then he is responsible for the problems they will have

  • Socialist maybe but I would venture to say that there are pleanty of countries where people live better than we do in America, this is a great country but do we have the fewest number of poor, the best health care system, the best ecnomic growth there are pleanty of things we are lacking in except maybe we have the biggest military so thats a plus but we have a lot of work to do and to say that this is the best country in the world and ignore what we have to work on is unproductive.

  • Obama/Kucinich or Obama/Nader imo, who has more coverage than Obama? Plus I tihnk Obama would be open to Kucinich's views, Gore had his shot.

  • I see Gore as the "wild card" but so far he has been hot and cold as a candidate and not consistent in his campaign ability. If Clinton stays ahead after super-duper Tuesday in Feb then I would not be surprized to see her cut a deal to have Obama as her V-P candidate. That way she can run as centrist a campaign as she likes and Obama can keep the progressives in the fold.

  • I disagree with James that "people have short attention spans," or that brevity should be a top priority. The push to make every discussion into a soundbite has really wrecked political discourse. If nobody has time to give evidence, nobody can make their point unless it's already a mantra. There's a difference between rambling on, and educating people about problems and solutions that affect them and that they can affect. You should take advantage of the lack of commercial interruptions here.

  • Kucinich is far from a party democrat, he lives by his standards ubove theres.

Lets Get real, Nader is not a viable option at this point.

    Kucinich '08

    could deal with Gore/Kucinich

  • Obamas not so good.

If Gore enters it wont be untill the fall after the other "1st tier" candidates have spilled much of eachothers blood. smart move really.

Gore/Kucinich is possible because i believe that most/all of the 1st tier candidates will be somewhat resented by the american people due to how much BS they pull.

Gore comes in late, Kucinich (who does not take money from big bussiness, and overall has very high integrity) can slip in because the populus became sick of the mainstream BS.

  • Obama doesn't take money from big business nor special interest groups, Obama didn't pull any "BS" so no one recents him. Fox news is running s smear campaign on Obama already because they don't want a smart honest person in the WH. Gore had his chance and he has made mistakes in the past I don't think he will get that far.

  • ok, sorry, Obamas good, hell hes one of the better candidates, however hes not as progressive as Dennis and hes only been in the US senate 2 years. I know Obama's was a state senator too. Dennis has been a US congressman for 10 years and was the Mayor of Cleveland. Kucinich/Obama?

  • sorry Dennis has been a congressman for 8 years.

  • Amen oldskool667!!

  • Why does Kucinich remain within the ranks of the democrats (a pro war party)

I see through his fake statements.

  • Kucinich stays a Democrat so he can continue in Congress. If he were a US Senator then he could go independent like Barry Sanders or Joseph Lieberman and have a chance, but today an independent doesn't have any chance in Congress as an independent since the elections are every two years.

  • I would argue that being an independent does not first nessesarily mean you are a liberal, and also it does not nessesarily kill your re-election opportunities in the house, so long as Kucinich is bringing money to his district, and not sexualy harassing pages, or taking illegal campaign contributions fron "Casino" Jack, then he would be fine running as an independent. However I don't think he sees himself as a socialist whether he is or isn't.

  • Mr. Kucinich, your stand on the war, your party affiliate and your stand on the environment all are music to my ears. Good luck. I'll try to send some dineros along the way. A fan in Texas.

  • I disagree with most of your platform, but at least you're honest and actually allow comments! Every other candidate I've looked at screens all their comments, so there's like 5 "wow, you're awesome"s and no intelligent criticism. Such hypocrisy is especially apparent on Clinton's vlog where she talks about starting a "conversation". Keeping making the others look bad with your honesty.

  • You don't have to agree with everything he says, but the MAJOR issue is he is HONEST. We know he won't drag us into another war, won't sell out to coporate pigs. As for other issues you may differ with him about, that is why you have congress.

Do you prefer to again elect people who to tell you what you want to hear by LYING?

  • It's my hope that by 2008, the USA has intelligent, capable leadership that can express to the world and to the United States people that our country need not be defined by the the spectacular miscalculations of one administration. I feel that Dennis Kucinich has been right on the Iraq War and I support him.

  • The best way to support our troops is to bring them home ASAP!!! .AND GET THE HELL OUT OF IRAQ!!

  • One of the best candidates' videos out there. It's honest and direct.

  • Kookcinich would actually be dangerous if anybody actually took that lying socialist seriously. I wonder if he wears lifts in shoes?

  • Calling him a "socialist" and alleging "lifts in his shoes" are both ad hominem arguments that demonstrate the speaker's lack of anything substantial to say.

  • Well...he lied to the House of Representatives yesterday by accusing the US of being responsible for one million Iraqi deaths in his 'one minute speech.' How's that for substantial? Even the that discredited English article didn't have the balls to lie that badly, and it quoted 600,000.

  • Nope, that article WAS NOT discredited..and is far more accurate than the bogus stats we get from our government. The same old garbage and imperialism we had in the Vietnam War. Will we never learn?

  • Answer to "patsagainstrats" (3 months before this posting):

Do you think that Time Stood Still after that "discredited article came out???" That article (by a medical magazine that's MUCH more credible than Bush and his puppet-masters who supposedly "discredited" it) actually quoted 650 000, not 600 000. And it's been MONTHS since then. Plenty of time for another 350 000.

  • AMEN!!!

  • Calling someone a socialist is not an ad hominem attack if the person is truly a socialist. It's not a dirty word, it's a political point of view. Kucinich very definitely IS a socialist. Most of the liberal left in the Democratic Part (and leftward) would be proud Social Democrats (socialists) in England and other countries. As for lifts in his shoes.. yeah, well, he's had worse directed at him.

  • I owuld agree that in any other county calling someone a socialist would not be an ad hominem attack but in the USA it definitely is, and the context supports that. It was used as a term that completely negated any value to what Kucinich has to offer and that is what made it ad hominem. If it was used in a way to carry forward discussion of issues then it would be used legitimately in debate. But to hang the label and assume the label ends debate is an ad hominem attack.

  • That Kucinich is a socialist doesn't end conversation, although it ends my consideration of him as someone I want to see in the White House. If I can't even loosely define people as conservative, liberal, fascist, socialist, communist, etc., it makes discussion of political philosophies more difficult. If I can't use a word because it "offends," then the best way to shut me up is to make sure my whole point of view offends. A typical strategy of the left.

  • Bernie Sanders is a Socialist-Democrat, and he has no problem admitting it. Socialism has a stigma attached to it in this country, educaton is needed to remidy that.

Social Democracy is common and is what this country will become, its good.

Read, Learn; and educate those who dont.

  • Frankly, I think socialism SHOULD have a stigma against it. It is intellectually dishonest, economically unfeasible and morally despicable (did I leave anything out?) No amount of "education" is going to change that.

  • Nice video. But remember, on youtube, the TV-smile is not required! :D

  • Kucinich utterly ruined Cleveland when he was mayor there, and the city has finally recovered. He is a total left wing-nut. Why would he be AGAINST privitization of Iraqi oil? Typically, he mistrusts private business, which ultimately means he doesn't trust people to make their own decisions. He would be a disastrous president.

  • That's a load of lies by the conservatives who ousted him so they would not lose their energy profits. Dennis was proved right by the subsequent events. So-called "private business" and "free markets" are myths put out by big businesses so they can keep control of the public markets. The privitization of Iraqi oil is just a scheme for a few to reap the riches of the many.

  • I went to college in his congressional district so I can tell you that's pretty much right, something honest honest conservatives even admit about his "character." Kucinich is the real deal with the most extensive platform in either party (as in 04), visit his website if you want proof. This vid also speaks volumes about that, something he's actually doing on a shoe string budget which is why he'll probably run until the convention, again like 2004.

  • And the corporate oligarchy is plotting against the common man who will one day rise up to create a paradise for the proletariat. Yeeesh.

And what's a "public market?" And while you're at it, explain to me why the poor people in our corrupt capitalist nation are still better off than most of the people in socialist/dictatorships around the world.

  • -- A public market is any market that is open to the public.

-- The corporate plutocracy is plotting for itself. There are two factions: (1) those who disdain the workers and would only give them scraps and (2) those who think happy workers are better supporters of the plutocracy.

-- The poor here are better off because since the New Deal the plutocrats have leaned to option #2 above and made the workers happy worker bees.

  • C'mon. Three's no "plot." You'd make fun of right-wing conspiracy-theorists, don't you? Well, you sound like one for the left. Read Milton Friedman and then tell me if there's any other country on the planet where people live better.

  • The US ranks 20th of the 21 industrialized nations in child welfare. We have the least amount of vacation time, family leave time, access to medical care, our infant mortality rates are a disgrace in the 1st world. The gap between CEO pay and worker pay is greater than even most 3rd world nations.

    WAKE UP!

  • You wake up. I can't argue with you about child welfare, but I would like to know what your ranking is based on. Social SPENDING? If that's it, then I say good for us. As for vacation time, well, France has butt-loads of mandated vacation, and their economy sucks.

  • Read Thom Hartman's "Unequal Protection" to learn how in 1886 the 14th Amendment was given away to the Corporations while the Chief Justice dies, never knowing what had been written in his name. Corporate conspiracy? Read the case yourself.

  • Better off until a medical bill wipes out your life's work?

How well off do you think we will be when the bill for this war has to be paid?

  • There are definitely problems with the costs of health care. But a socialist system won't really address them. With Government health care, you get poorer health care and essentially shortages of care. LESS access. Right now, poor people can get access to health care by going to any emergency room. It's not a good way to do it, but it does work. COST is the problem for most people (and employers), and the causes are not solved by nationalized health care.

  • A single payer non-profit health insurance system would solve the problem. The health insurance system is the #1 reason medical care is too expensive.

When very few had insurance, health care was in the reach of working people. Hopitals were supported by communities & churches.

Profit driven hospitals and the money guzzling insurance industry have wrecked our health care system, with the help of some greed docs.

  • The REASON health insurance is part of the problem is mainly because of over-utilization. People have gotten used to the idea that their health care is "free" so they go to the doctor for minor issues. Rise in demand increases price. Single payer doesn't solve that. Health care still seems "free." Crank down costs and you get shortages.

  • 1. Insurance companies suck more money out of the system than any other element.

    2. Insurance once was, and still should be, for catastophic illness.

    3. People should earn enough to pay for routine & common medical procedures.

  • Right on all counts. One solution for #3 is to lower taxes so incomes can be higher and the burden on employers can shift to more job creation and in some cases, better benefits. Also, we might be able to afford more ONE-income households which benefits kids.

  • I'm old enough to remember when everyone I knew lived in a one income household. Tax rates were actually higher then.

e.g. I knew a family where the dad was a school custodian, one child. They lived modestly, but owned a home, paid their bills, cared for their child with no assistance.

you could not do that today.

  • 40 yrs ago a man with a HS education and willing to work could support a family of 4, own a home, a car, pay for his Dr. visits, save a little. That is a rare situation today.

  • Over-utilization? What kind of plan do you have?

Look at 2 areas of health care that prove that wrong. Vision and dental. 30 yrs ago there was no ins for either. With the advent of insurance the cost of both have skyrocketed.

    Rise in coverage increases prices.

  • "Rise in coverage increases prices" -- my point exactly. Rise in coverage means more use = higher demand. For years, people have been unconcerned about the price, so they went to the doctor for a hangnail. It only seems limited now, but it's a comparative thing.

  • Are you claiming that people visit the dentist or change their eyeglass Rx unessesarily? Before vision ins I could by a pair of glasses with photgrey lens for $60 (1978) Now the same pair cost $350+. My income has not increased 5x, has yours?

  • I am "claiming" that insurance and govt benefits have allowed demand to go up, necessarily or not. There are other issues as well that have driven costs up -- costs of liability insurance for one. Also, YES there IS a lot of unnecessary medical/optical stuff going on because Drs. are under extreme pressure to up-sell -- gotta pay for those MRI and Lasex machines, you know. As well as the insurance that goes with them.

  • I agree that there is over-use of the system. I believe the only answer is to return to the days of people paying for their routine care out of pocket & would have a public, non-profit insurance option for major medical.

  • 1.eliminate for-profit health insurance

    2. return to public & charitable support of local hospitals

    3. publically invest in the education of more Drs- we help educate them & they have to work Xyrs in a need based situation. Such programs exists, but need to be expanded.

  • All of these answers are coercive, though. You have to ORDER people out of business and demand that the public pay through taxation. I don't think these are the answer. I DO think we need to get the trial lawyers out of the business of driving up costs and driving doctors out of the profession -- Shortage of people is driving up costs as well. Nurses are in particularly short supply.

  • If the public sets up a not-for-profit major medical insurance system, even on an opt-in basis, we would put those blood suckers out of business.

As for the old song about lawyers...Their fee schedule is criminal, but winning a malpractice is not easy. Hard to find a case where a Dr. loses that they didn't deserve to. Doctors get away with much more than they are ever sued for.

  • Public = government. The costs of malpractice may not be in the winning or losing, but they definitely are in the costs of malpractice insurance. The abuse of the system is NOT an "old song."

  • I believe you have a point about the free market system; it is efficient and cares for the consumer's interest, but profit is the main drive, thus the involvement in politics. And I also believe that government should protect life for those who seek protection.

  • Thanks for creating a two-way dialogue with individual people!

  • Dennis :-)

  • I was lucky enough to meet Dennis Kucinich when he spoke outside the Santa Ana Courthouse in the summer of '03 (just a couple months after I'd gotten married there!) and I could tell from his speech and from what he said to me that he was a caring and highly competent man. Vote Kucinich!!

  • Nobody but Dennis in 2008.

  • I love the fact that he filmed this at midnight.

  • That was GREAT! Keep it up!

  • I totally disagree with his political views ... but I have to admit I completely admire the down to earth personalized response he gave in that video. Given his current stances I would never vote for him, but after seeing him in that setting, I would at least be intrested to hear what he had to say.

  • I'm more concerned with how you think than how you spell. I hope you'll broaden your perspective. Dennis K. has it right...just like this general:

"War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses." -- Major General Smedley D. Butler, USMC [two-time Medal of Honor recipient]

  • I just want to say I am very impressed with your positions and I see you as the forerunner in 08

  • Very impressive.

  • He continues to earn my respect every time I see him. If votes were based on track record and the issues he would surely win.

  • Dennis is the Best Candidate for the American People, not the special interest groups. He has nothing to hide and isn't afraid to talk directly to the people regarding the hard issues. Please Visit his website at kucinichDotUs to learn more.

  • i don't know much about you but i would subscribe to your channel if you keep on posting your videos.kun ichi, congradulatons..

  • i'm not voting for you

  • Well, I AM voting for Dennis K. If all of us who agree with him are willing to vote our conscience instead of trying to second-guess how everybody else will vote, Dennis CAN WIN!

He's right on ALL the issues...and he has shown (here on YouTube and on countless other occasions) that he is a "stand-up" guy who says what he means and means what he says. This country NEEDS a guy like that in the Oval Office, 'cause GWBush has brought us to the brink of ruin and degradation.

    GO DENNIS!!!

  • You're a very good sport Mr Kucinich! Well done!

  • Wow, congrats, Representative Kucinich. I think throughout your 2004 campaign, and now this, you've shown that you want to connect with the grassroots and really hear the individual voices of your supporters and detractors. I mean, remember the Date-a-Dennis contest? Priceless.

  • politicaldude2345, continuing this war in Iraq shows the world that the American people are being taken advantage of. This war was a lie from the start and the oil privatization push is a slap in the face to all Americans. Iraq had nothing was not behind 9/11, did you know that?

  • Also the oil companies colluded w/auto & tire mfg to purchase and dismantle electric trains from the largest US cities starting in 1930's. It was a conspiracy to make us dependent upon cars and oil pro
