Yes it is Yoko Kanno, but I suggest getting the soundtrack and not downloading off limewire. It doesn't do Kanno's work justice, and there are many other great songs on that album.

Don't know if people notice but.. the music on the UK release's opening (this one) has a faster tempo to it over the USA and Japan releases. It sounds much better. Check out the other versions and the difference is quite clear.

the major is a female,i saw the epiosde when they discussed her past and how she came to have a prostetic body. I thought it was kind of sad but the major is a girl not a guy. She is most definately a girl and plus she does have feelings fo the one dude with the brown hair I think... i'm not too too sure but our Major is definately a lady..

Untrue. In the animated canon she was a small girl who was the sole survivor of a plane crash, and one of the first people to undergo total body replacement in order to save her life.

She DID however share a room with a boy who was a candidate for the same procedure due to having a degenerative nerve condition that was destroying the outer fringes of his motor nerve system.

Okay, I just BARELY got into this show. I've only seen one episode (WHICH I LOVED!!!) and I noticed the title has the "GIG 2" in it. What does that mean? Is this like a second part of a two-part series or something? I'm just really curious! I'm really starting to like this show and I'd just like to know a little bit more about it. Thanks!

'GIG 2' basically refers to the second series. To give you the lowdown the ghost in Shell universe breaks down into two movies, two 26 episodes series and a 4 episode/movie special.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG

Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society

I know that the beginning is edited out and a lot of the ending part is too because the actual song is 5:10 long. I don't think the pace is any faster though.
