I saw him race against stanton in fremont stanton took both of them out of the lead.Bayle has got to be one of the fastest besides brad lackey i've ever had a chance to see...smooth and FAST !
my dad rode ktm 300 and kx 500 in amca in the 80/90s what a beast the bike was a shame they stoped making them there will never be a bik like the 500 2 stroke again
theres nothing like the sound off an open 500 2 stroke
@racerace Yes he was...still is as well....watching him ride, you realize the amount of skill he has even now...plus...I miss the retro look of the old days...
JMB is a different cat for sure ... but also one of the best to ever swing a leg over a motorcycle. In talking to Rick Johnson, how knows JMB pretty well, he says he's a really great guy. But back in his days in racing in the USA, the promoters liked to play up the 'USA vs. Them' ... so probably a lot of people misunderstood that he really was and is a good guy : )
@racerace I do agree with you 100%, I when to Anaheim Angel back in 1990-91 super cross, and Any body could feel it in that place, He was awezome! and no many people like it, he WOn big thta Night. In my opinion and been an ol rider (48)year old today, he is one of the greatest ryders or ine of my favorites, Hanna Bob, also, and since those days Bubba Stewart is the next, This guy is incredible and has unique style.
I was too young to watch jmb race since i was born 91 but he was my big brothers biggest role model and thru youtube he has become one of my biggest to. great rider
JMB is the best european motocross rider of all time, better than stefan everts. He won everywhere in this planet including the highest level motocross events in the world: ama 250cc and 500cc in the states.
@benmagoo7 Let me enlighten you on a few things, The RM500 was made by Suzuki from 1983 thru 1985, A YZ 490 is a bike made by Yamaha (a completely different manufacturer) as far as the Honda CR 480 goes it was produced in the early 80's and ceased production in 83 because 1984 was the first year for the CR 500 (a completely different machine) the early honda big bores such as the 480, 460 were air cooled, the 500 was only air cooled it's first year and was a totally different bike alltogether.
@Braaap126 na mate i own a 82 480 these were the 500 class racers from the shop not big bored by some back street tuners the 500 480 490 what ever`` and to think i didnt know the 490 was made by yam to try and be little me let me enlighten you...you read to much back then they were all classed as 500s.....THANKS SIR..
@benmagoo7 Get a clue; "big bore" is a term used to classify an open class bike, "bored out" is what you are talking about and next time proof read your mindless dribble it makes no fucking sense at all
@benmagoo7 Heres an idea, this disagreement between us started because you believe there is such a thing as a 1989 RM 500, please direct me to where anyone could see proof of the said bikes exsistence and you and I could end this fued directly, as well as me standing corrected and will also owe you a huge apology on my behalf.
JMB was awesome! KTM had a few bikes out there I think ... same for Husqvarna. I forget if Suzuki was running in the 500 class at that time .... what's left of my memory is almost gone : )
Just look at the guys he had to race against,Stanton,Ward,Bradshaw, and to win in that crowd, was just amazing,he deserves credit, hes fucking earned it.

abinadvd 5 months ago
It is sure , no pilots before or after wanted to make a race with him.
Every pilots ask himself "What will he do during this race ?"
Every pilots (in europe or us) were happy to see him going to road racing.
Everyone non pilots thought , why do you go? We want to see magic again
But JMB wanted to win a road racing too. He just had 1 pole on 250 , 2 on 500 on non factories bikes
"I destroy too much tires, impossible to win " he said
