@alixwaldononato thats what i was also wondering if the lowest model with the old NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card. i know the previous apple line was capable with that chip but i have read a few places that say this model is not much of a desktop replacement or stand alone pc. very dissapointing if this is true because i soon will be upgrading to a new notebook.
@ahnahoj Can't say it was disturbing... HD video runs sweet and smooth - I edited lots using iMovie and it didn't stutter once, even with 1080p footage, which was surprising.
Overall, the experience is fluid... once you've got all your data moved across.
Im really confused right now. I'm planning to buy macbook pro 15, but now im confused with this new macbook air.. ? Wht u think shud i go for pro or air?
@Maqanq Depends what you want it for. Life on the road, with a 2nd Mac / PC at home? Go for the Air. If it's going to be a do-it-all-anywhere-you-are machine, then go for the extra grunt of the Pro.
Why couldn't you use the USB to transfer your files? There are 2 USB on the macbook air. Please post up a video showing how fast it boots up, shuts down, and wakes from sleep and anything else you find that is worth reviewing.

as for the USBs - Migration Assistant only supports Firewire for Mac-to-Mac transfers. Otherwise, you need a beefy external hard drive, plenty of patience with Wi-Fi, or an ethernet adapter (sold separately)
@markbyrn If I'm paying over £1,000 for a laptop, which is designed as a secondary computer, I'd really expect that sort of thing to be included in the box. It really ruins the out of box experience. Full thoughts here: electricpig.co.uk/2010/11/02/macbook-air-review/
@electricpigtv I agree that Apple should include the adapter but that wasn't my point. The video said there was no other way to make the transfer and my comment was to was simply to mention the fact that a USB Ethernet adapter was available to do the job. It would be nice if Lord Jobs included the adapter and the overpriced add-on superdrive in the box but me thinks that's not going to happen.
@IamTheiPhone - I can answer that now... No. iWeb and iDVD are exactly the same. I confirmed that with Apple when I had a press briefing yesterday. The only changes are within iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand.
If it's any consolation, the iMovie and iPhoto updates make a very big difference. GarageBand, less so... although the "how did I play" feature is genuinely brilliant.
is it coming a macbook air 17 inches?? :D

iMattyMAC 1 year ago
@iMattyMAC afraid it doesn't work like that - Firewire does, but of course, the MacBook Air doesn't have Firewire.

Is it disturbing that this model lack the "black glass lines" on the edge of the screen?
How is it dealing with heavier tasks like playing HD quality video and 3D games? And of course, is the general user experience fluid? :)

You could have bought the $29 Apple USB Ethernet Adapter and saved the 17 hours.
