The church is NOT the bride as many believe. I believed it once. The truth is we are part of the body of Christ. And actually we are guests. Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb Rev 19:9. The bride is not invited. Only the guests. So Christ is the the bridegroom, we can agree. We are the guests becuase we are invited Matthew 22. And there has to be the bride:? Who is she? That is New Jerusalem. Heavenly Mother. Who has been revealed like in a wedding. At the end.

I was saved in Bethel Temple Assembly of God church Jan. 4, 1974. After several confusing encounters with the pastor I finally asked God if He had a church of his own. In December of 1974 God led me to the COGOP. On Jan. 5 I took the covenent and joined the COGOP. I've seen alot changes in the church but that doesn't change the Word of God (Bible). The Bible says he that endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. The church went down once God is not going to let her go down again.

I have to say that I am devoted to the Church of God of Prophecy. Doctrine is simply "teaching". For those who left and went else where I hold no feelings against them because they left on their own accord. I will not leave the original vine, the changes that have come about may be effective to the ones who believe they have made effective changes but there are loyal members that still uphold the original teachings (The Bible) and have stayed with her. (the Bride). Stand and love her.

The church has gone on, COGOP has lowered her standards, and left theocracy, but the church has gone on the wheel inside the wheel, has followed after God and is still under theocracy, and her name is " The Church of God" she has never lowered her standards she is what the old Church of God of Prophecy use to be!

I know that Jesus said He would build his church on the understanding that Peter had that He WAS in fact the son of God. But that's not a doctrine, that's an understanding. The COGOP has taken a more liberal stand on things - i.e, jewelry - outward ordainment. The teachings have changed / been revised. I was raised in the COGOP but left some years ago. She will return to her firm foundation and will once again be a light unto the world. Its hard to tell the difference anymore between the COGOP and the COG or other Pentecostal Church’s. The church of God of Prophecy does not claim to be the only bride of Christ. All born again blood wash believers are the bride of Christ. The COGOP, we don't condemn other believers but we work together with other churches to further the kingdom of God in the great harvest. I LOVE the COGOP, which is the members, the teachings, the stance for which she stands.

Now, I've heard testimonies of members in the Church, who were saved outside of the Church of God of Prophecy, whom GOD led to HER. So God, if He is the one Heading our lives, is leading us, to where He wants us. John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."

@jenforchrist I don't know what COGOP you go to? The COGOP I was raised in said they were the only true bride of Christ and all other believers were going to be guest at the marriage supper of the lamb...That is what the church still teaches. My family was in the church for over 50 years..

I have to say as a visitor of other churches, I've not met one that truly practices the teachings of the Bible (the Word of God) as the true church, the Church of God of Prophecy. When I enter a sanctuary of the COGOP, I sense true holiness. Unlike others, I sense demonic oppression. When one truly follows God's Holy Word, heavenly blessings follow. I know there was a time when the COGOP WAS more fiery than it is now. But, if there is no fire in the COGOP, there is none anywhere else. Yes, some of the scriptures quoted were for Israel back then. If the COGOP is the bride of Christ then why did the church lower it's standards to the point of spliting up the flock? Now there is THE CHURCH OF GOD which is believers that left the COGOP because of conservative views and teachings! The COGOP has spilt 3 times and you still call yourself the bride Christ. I understand where you're coming from. I am for conservatism, too. But why divide? God's against division. There is a spirit of errror, because God does not lower His standards. This splitting will remain a continuous cycle if we don't kick the devil out of the Church. Psalm 94:16 "Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?"

I can say that being with the COGOP FOR years, I've seen alot of changes that occur by some members throughout the ages, leaning more towards liberalism. However, that realism should not deter us from the faith, and cause us to abandon post. We should stand and fight in the Spirit like Paul-"fight the good fight of faith". The devil wants to be where God is, and or de-throne Him. Let us stand in the gap for those who wants to create havoc to destroy the Church, and its teachings.

In the last days especially we should become more conservative than not. God wants a spotless Bride! The COGOP is not the only Bride of Christ. It is all Christians who make up the bride.. The Church is great! I was truely heart broken when I knew what happened with the church since most of my family are with COGOP and we stayed with The Church of God. I could always feel God and the love for the church in Bishop Wilson

Me too. It hurts when one of us deviates from the path God sets in motion to follow. Whatever happens and continue to take place, we should run to the cross, and cry out to the Father for mercy for our brothers and sisters.

Yes, it is a great Church! And, because Bishop Wilson, loves the Lord, he loves the Church, also. I John 4:21 "And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."

The purpose your bishops and pastors pass away, is because, God does not want them to suffer more than they can bear, and because judgment's coming or is already here, why He's taking His children Home. Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." My condolences. It is hard to lose someone, especially those of the household of faith.

One thing you have to say about the COGOP, once you join it you have family ALL OVER THE PLACE! They used to love their flag, which they claim is mentioned in Isaiah as "the Ensign of Israel", when in fact that verse is speaking of JESUS, Who would later be "lifted up" on the cross as our Messiah. But I've learned to put minor disagreements "under the Blood" with God's people and just ENJOY their fellowship. The COGOP has sort of re-joined the "Elder's Church", the Church of God...

The flag is still, however, an emblem to show the world that the Church of God of Prophecy stands for holiness and purity. And, since Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, the banner represents Him.

Yes, the church is one big family united from state to state and nation to nation, particularly, during the International Assemblies. It is a joy to know that you can move from one city to the next, and still find God's awesome people.

I'm sorry to hear that some have backsliden from the Church. The Bible did say, in I Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

The Church today must live or stay on her knees 24/7, because an all-out war is been leashed by the forces of darkness. In the end, they and all who join them will all be defeated at Christ's coming!
