  • Do you hav any idea how much money I would be willing to pay to see these guys try to actually fight some taking Muay Thai or BJJ or u an MMA guy and just watch them get BEAT DOWN

  • Nothing can prepare you for a real fight, everyone has their own way of moving, attacking and defending. The most training does for you is increase your speed, stamina and train the mind to be ready for what ever is thrown at you. It is up to the person on how linier they wish to think. Crap if your basic 'blocks' taught in most martial arts schools saved you from everything thrown at you, sign me up!

  • I am on XMA at my karate studio. And this is nothing we do. we focus on gymnastics and karate of coarse.

  • @xXxStunt4LifexXx So we are talking about intimidation verses actually fighting?

  • @xXxStunt4LifexXx And your choreographed dance moves will save you in the streets? Have fun with that buddy, try that one on Mike Tyson.

  • @anikinippon I never said we use it on the streets. I literally said it's for entertainment, you are not very smart young man. Martial arts on the other hand has so many choreographed,"grab his arm after he punches then grab his head and knee him in the face." Do you honestly believe that would work in real life? Not in todays world. You would get shot while your trying to take your gay ass fighting stance.

  • @IIVCloudxRisingVII No, xXxStunt4LifexXx said it's to "learn cool tricks" and who said I would get in a stance?

  • @xXxStunt4LifexXx Martial arts can't teach you to react in a real fight? Good luck telling the Gracies that.

  • @xXxStunt4LifexXx Yea because you can just callous your knuckles and get your joints ready by spinning in circles. There is a reason it's BULLshido in the title and not Bushido. Real training comes from contact and actually using technique on someone, not simply looking "cool" and theorizing what might work at the moment of life and death.

  • @xXxStunt4LifexXx Not necessarily, acrobatics and martial arts and not synonymous.

  • @xXxStunt4LifexXx You can go ahead and just admit it's not martial arts and more like acrobatics, that would be great, thanks.

  • With all that sword swingin', a samurai would knock it right out of the freakin air, idiots.

  • ninjas who swing their swords were considered to be the lowest of the ninjas

  • I think XMA is badass actually lol(((: I've competed in it i think its fun as hell

  • XMA sucks, but at least you get to dress up like KISS and Kobra Kai.

  • Looooooooooool fucking great music!!

  • people argue too much on youtube, it's basically like a war.

  • Looks like some body is jealous a bit? I bet your a fat lard sitting at your PC in your underware eating a Hostess cupcake and upset that you never won anything in your life, LMAO!!!

  • @SublimeTheory and sitting in his moms basement playing cod and eating a hotdog in 1 bite at th same time! lmFao

  • I hate that movies have this kind of martial arts in them. if you wanna see a movie with martial arts thats well choreographed, but still looks like real martial arts, watch the movie Kuro Obi

  • What is rediculus is if you watch any of these kids do a traditional form, they look trrible and totally suck! All they can do is horrible weak strikes and spin moves and do flips and twirl weapons around like a girls baton. Thats it. They cant do traditional kata or poomse, and when they do they are ignorant of any combat application. And their sparring is horrible "point break" fighting and light contact. They would all die in any real fight. Any gang banger on the street would own them.

  • I see people claiming XMA is just for show and to look cool and thats the ONLY reason these kids are training in it. Are you kidding me?!? You see them walk around or talk all badass about theuir black belt skills and how deadly they are. XMA people are clearly delusional about their self defense abilities and actually think they are able to win fights with such moves. They claim black belts in certain styles which claim to be fighting methods. They are posers!

  • Are they space ninjas? I don't understand the uniform.

  • very aerodynamic though, for performance those are awesome but as many have said "i have yet to have to do a flip to kick a guy in the head" course a person busting moves like that could serve as a warning that he may know other things.

  • i dont think any of you people understand what XMA is. XMA is designed for style and performance its meant to be interesting its obvious in the middle of a fight were not gonna throw a sword up into the air and catch it.......

  • @Exsstream Like I said, it is gymnastic, it's beautiful to watch, I would love to be able to do what those guy do, because, honestly it's impressive, but it is gymnastic, you take what I say as an insult, it's just a statement. You asked what martial art is better? Every martial art, karate(real one), jujitsu, kung fu, ninjutsu, savate, and plenty more, MMA is a better fighting sport that this is, because it is actually meant to be used in a fight, XMA is meant to look good.

  • @Nordrian i agree with you on the first bit yea its meant to watch and be cool. but XMA is like performance its obviously not meant for a real fight. does that mean it sucks? hell no! and XMA is a part of taekwondo which is extremely similar to karate.

  • i like it! i am a combat martial artist on chile and here all people know how to fight...but a few fighters know how fly like this... i think that with a hard training this tecniques can be used to a real fight we need to evolve too

  • i like it! i am a combat martial artist on chile and here all people know how to fight...but a few fighters know how fly like this... i think that with a hard training this tecniques can be used to a real fight we need to evolve too

  • 1:16 , total disgrace to a weapon with killing potential , that thing could drop and sever a limb or two. now that would be a lesson learned.

  • You might as well join capioera or parkour. same shit

  • This looks like acrobatics and gymnastics not martial arts.

  • everyone who's hating sound like all the people who got beat in competition? Theses guys took competition to the next level, if you don't like it then don't watch. They're top performers. But I've also seen competitors who don't use tricks in forms competition who beat these guys with shear technique, so that's another reason why people hate because they don't have the skills nor the technique to even give these guys any actual real competition. Man up you guys and stop hating, it's childish!

  • throwing a samurai sword in the air?...after seeing that what more can I say?...sad

  • XMA uniforms has gotta be the ugliest creation MAN has ever created for ANYONE to wear... and that's all she wrote lolol.

  • @PerseusHero thats bull! search 'steph and zarah xma'' into the search engine and u will see a video of ME! doing xma and i was only 10 at the time!! it hard and it IS A TYPE of martail arts just like mma, xma and bjf

  • Dang you guys are pretty stupid. xma a martial arts just like bushido and boxing it just focuses on the more flashy and artsy parts of martial arts rather than the combat. you can't call yourself a martial artist if you're gonna be narrow minded and judge everything. Martial arts in this day has no real use except for in competitions so at least be thankful that ppl are out there keeping it alive

  • @Genji44 First of all, do you even know what bushido is?

Second of all, do you even know what a martial artist is? If so, explain what being "narrow minded" has to do with whether or not one is a martial artist.

  • XMA had admitted its only for performance only anyway. At least they all know that.

  • im guessing the title is sarcastic

  • People that watches to mutch movies..

Its just gymnastics as Nordrian says.

  • I dont care about the empty hand stuff,

but the weapon stuff, how can that stand up to someone in kendo or fencing?

  • def not the most practical, but you can't deny the athleticism that goes into it. I'm not a fan personally, but think of how much potential guys and girls like this have.

  • dude there black belts and black belts are still black belts they still know how to kick someone's ass without tricking/ xma technique and besides if they decide to do something flashy i'm pretty sure the bad guy would run away in fear...

  • @NikLagua Sorry but a black belt doesn't mean anything, it is just a belt, without the martial background behind it, it is just a piece of tissue. The thing they practice isn't kicking ass, and can't be called a martial art, martial art coming from the god Mars, who was the god of war, and xma has no link with any war situation or fight situation, it is nice to look at, and pretty impressive, that I don't deny it, but calling it Martial art is wrong.

  • @Nordrian i never said anything about xma being an effective art i just meant a martial artist is still a martial artist as long they bow down of learning the arts... martial artist do xma just for fun and when there not doing flash they are probably learning something new for katas or sparring incase they might get attacked... and when i meant da guy does a flash kick w/ a scream and the attacker is like 3 feet away the attacker would be thinking i dont want to mess with this guy he'll beat me

  • @NikLagua I am just saying, XMA can't be considered as a martial art, first because it wasn't developed during war time or during any real fight situation, that they spare, and learn a bit of self defense, why not, but I can't consider it as a martial art. Also, yes it can be impressive, and I don't deny the artistic side, but if the guy they are facing is a real martial artist, their flash kick might just get them hurt, because the guy they face wont be doing it for the show.

  • @Nordrian Do you train any type of form for MA?

  • @Raz0880 Indeed I do. But it hardly matter.

  • Well, i thinks its okay, as long they are not telling these kids they will become fighting machines, its seems like a fun thing to do

  • If anyone's looking for the song - it's called "Reckless Rivalry Combat".

  • Great choreographs indeed! Like it!

  • XMA was created to allow people to practice the type of martial arts shown in movies.

    It's for show.

See the founder say it here watch?v=38aK2KwgWUk

If you're judging it based on actual combat efficiency, it does suck, you're right.

But for visual prowess, it's interesting to watch.

  • @EmbraceTheThunder xma can be used in a pracyical way if ur good enough and hav trained with it cause a 540 is a move used in xma and u dont want to be hit with it

  • @MrBrandon0321

Of course it can be used in a practical way if you're well trained in it.

So can baseball skills -- do you know how hard a professional baseball player can hit a ball? They could kill someone with one swing of that bat.

The point is that XMA isn't the most efficient way to do it, and it wasn't created to be.

A 540 can do damage if you're hit with it, but anyone of sufficient skill can take you out the second you turn your back.

  • @EmbraceTheThunder im guessing ur a baseball fan or player but my expertice is fighting and it takes morethan sufficent skill and my back turned to bring me down. ur point is invalid because mike chat created it to be a combination of many styles all effective in a fight.

  • @MrBrandon0321

No, I'm not a baseball fan nor do I play it.

You missed my point entirely and did not address the base premise.

It seems that you've failed to look at the video I linked in my first post. You also failed to provide any sources to back up your argument. Unless you can provide sources along with your argument, I won't be continuing the debate any further.

As long as we're talking about experience; mine from a life time of martial arts as well.

  • @MrBrandon0321

As for your argument about having your back turned:

Unless a person has eyes in the back of their head and fully rotating shoulder and elbow joints, the back is a wide open weakness and it's a horrible idea to expose it in a fight.

The speed in a 540 (or any swung) kick decreases per unit of mass as you move towards the body; thus its force decreases in this way.

A person moving in on you while your back is turned gains the upper hand and takes almost no damage from your kick.

  • @EmbraceTheThunder u must be a baseball fan and a physics nerd cause u really dont kno that much about fighting or xma. and why would i throw a 540 if someone is behind me u obviously hav no clue wat ur talking about and should stop this argument while ur behind.

  • @EmbraceTheThunder this is not meant to the person who posted that. But to everyone else. Yall are fucking stupid to actually think the ppl in this video actually practice this to learn to fight. I'm pretty sure they are aware it's for show.

  • This is just a way so guys can practice gymnastic without the "girly" cliché attached to it :o

  • @Nordrian Still very girly.

  • @Nordrian alright faggot u took things too far. 1. these guys in this vid arnt even XMA...... i recognise almost all these people 75% of the vid is Team Ryouko. Which isnt XMA. 2. WTF? why dont you call Jackie Chan "girly" because there is no difference between what he does and what people in XMA do, and feel free to reply to that if i am wrong. 3. what other martial art is better? there is none better at performance than XMA.

i think i have made my point.

  • @Exsstream Jackie Chan is actually practicing kung-fu, a 2000 yo martial art, no comparison. XMA looks good, but there's no link between that and martial art: martial art=art of war, this is something that was creating in a gym room. Look and effectiveness are different concepts, it looks beautiful, but innefectiv in street fight. You made no point, and only replied to a 6 months old message.

  • @Nordrian

And your trolling is just a way for you to practice being a dumbass without getting your ass kicked in real life.

Stick to your stupid online games fatass.

  • @VicTricks I argument, you insult me, who's trolling? As for being a fatass, you couldn't be further from reality. Finally, yes, I play games sometimes, OMG WHAT A SHAME, I LIKE TO HAVE SOME FUN!!!

    Grow up.

  • what? XMA sucks XMA is the best martial of all time P.S you sucks

  • @msdonsel98 no its not. i got nothing agianst it just to say that or call it a martial arts please

  • @msdonsel98 It isnt a martial art..... show me how this will be able to be used on the street in a actual fight?

  • Just show off how u use it in a fight lol

  • yeah the costumes look like they were dug out of a costume closet of a shitty 60's space movie. or what kiss shit out idk

  • The guy with the sword was using it like it was a fashion accessory. You put your body into the sword, you don't twirl the sword around your body. And what the hell use is throwing all of your balance and weight into a spin kick when you have a 3 foot long piece of sharpened steel in your hands?

  • XMA is a great program for kids and such. But it does NOT deserve to be called martial arts. It's gymnastics! -_-

Besides, I haven't seen any false or stupid claims in XMA, like "touchless knock outs," or "the 2 techniques guaranteed to stop a cage fighter."

  • i have nothing agianst gymnest but dont call it martial arts

  • I respect the athletic ability it takes to do such moves, and they look impressive as well, but I just don't see the point, I'll stick to Kyokushin, you guys stick to XMA and we'll get along just fine.

  • the sad thing bout this is none of u commenting badly on this can probley do any of this

  • @KA4409 why would we want to do something that doesnt work in a real situation? i don't want to learn how to dance around for other people's entertainment, i want to learn how to fight, i want to learn how to defend my self, i want to learn how to neutralize my opponent effectively

  • @1Mafioso4,

This is not about Self-Defense or Street situations. This is about creativity and the athlete. Most of these people are very good at Martial Arts.

  • @gmcarboy that sounds highly unlikely..

  • @gmcarboy at gymnastics

  • @gmcarboy at gymnasticsdd

  • @1Mafioso4 ""i don't want to learn how to dance around for other people's entertainment, i want to learn how to fight""

Then maybe you should not take an XMA class? Because you don't like it others can't?

    @everyone else

You should realize that XMA is generally not taught by itself, it is an add on to traditional martial arts classes. XMA is skill based, not belt based (meaning you don't get a black belt in XMA). Most schools teach Karate and Krav Maga with XMA added on the side.

  • @mcowan Cool story bro..

  • @mcowan Then you will agree that XMA isn't a martial art, and thus, why calling it XMA? It's some general gymnastic exercises added to some martial art classes for the show.

  • It's like a metrosexual version of karate. Lots of shiny things.

  • I wonder why people have such a problem with XMA. they don't claim to be able to fight. they openly admit its all about tricks and gymnastics. they reason they still use the term martial arts is that it is martial arts based movements (punches and kicks). GM Gracie would never fight one of these guys because they are not fighters.

why doesn't bullshido make a video about how basketball is gay because it doesn't work in the street.

  • Hollywood martial arts... that is all there is.

  • this is just lolwut

  • In all seriousness, I do have a great deal of respect for the athletic ability of these people. I can't do a third of what they do (though, I don't really want to either). I just wish they wouldn't claim this shit to be "martial arts." There's nothing "martial" about anything they do.

  • Hey! Don't knock these XMA guys! Their moves might be flashy, acrobatic and completely useless in a real fight...but I bet they can suck the hell out of some dragon balls!

  • @Bigvader Can't agree more. I'd like to see some of these people do this.

  • at 116 its the sherminator from american pie

  • im sorry but this video has back fired on you

  • i do XMA and you only think it sucks because your some fat guy who sits on the compuer all day and watches youtube. i do XMA and its harder that it looks!

    Stop Being So Negitive!

  • @IloveBeyonce11 it is hard you're right but I believe this type of martial art as you call it really loses the whole defination of what a martial art is supposed to be which is an art form practiced for a millitant purpose

  • @IloveBeyonce11 then stop saying that you do martial arts when all you do is gymnastics with a few punched thrown in!!

  • fuk yall who say iz gay im in it

  • Obviously the reason why you say that XMA sucks is just pure jealousy that your unable to do fast movements of techniques with such ferocity and athleticism. If you were to get into a fight with one of the veterans who can do XMA then expect you to get some injuries

  • the dopest thing about this video is the song

  • :35 makes me cry

  • -What I'm looking at is not martial art. Not even close-It is a pretty cool performance art though. Any martial artist knows that you never, ever let go of your weapon like that! It sure does sell in the McDojo industry though.

  • with the xma they flat out say its not martial arts.

  • this guys are cancer

  • yeah - it's pretty, it looks great and yes... it can (and has been) used in many films to stop the weak plots being so painfully obvious... but , it does grind my gears that they used the word 'martial' in the description of this skill set and had the front to foolishly put the word 'Xtreme' at the from of it... which just amplifies how inappropriate the use of the word 'martial' is.

  • i should point out that before xma their was xtreme katas, being performed by already black belt martial artist who well show off a bit! and XMA is a performance art not used for combat!

  • @Saiga76239mm You are still being immature with your childish insults and lack of intelligent response. You are to one getting wound up and cussing about everything, not me. "all you have to do to a boxer to confuse them is stand back and kick them in the legs. Or just kick in general." Where in my statement do I say it will stop a boxers advances? NOWHERE. In your first statement, you do not state your background so how I am supposed to know you are not a pure boxer, I cant read your mind.

  • Where in this video do these performers claim that these are self defense techniques? NOWHERE. This is a performance martial art, quit crying.

  • People on here hating say xma sucks cause its wont work in a fight well a gun work a lot better then mma and so does stabbing someone with a screw driver. So why hate on people for trying to do positive things with martial arts instead of just being violent. It takes no skill to hurt someone people kill people with no trainning all the time type in gangland on here. If u only want to do wat is good for selfdefense just got to a shooting range get urself a gun some mace and a knife.

  • @Samuraikk1080 you wont always have those on u. rape victims r found with those things in thier pockets.Plus u cant use some of that legally depending on the country your from.

  • @Samuraikk1080 In USA the only time u can use a gun/knife is when the other guy uses 1.

  • As long as people are honest about what they do, then what does it matter? I love doing somefancy kicks - I don't care if they're 'practical' because at my age, I just enjoy training in a way that keeps me going to the gym instead of just getting fat. On the other hand, it's healthy to be able to laugh at your self and your own thing when people take the mick out of it - just see it as a tax you pay so that you can have a good natured laugh at them too!

  • @muchlove59 xma was never meant for combat. so plz dont judge it in that light.

  • excuse the typos, i hate this new look youtube, can't see what i'm bloody typing.

  • @Saiga76239mm

Your martial arts you do is all well and good but their is always someone who knows more than you at something. jj 6 8 years, kickboxing 6 years, mt 3 years and watching ufc since 1 and every pride, but that's beside the point.

I understand weapons training and twirling in a real combat situation is stupiud and risks losing it just to look 'good'. Their is a reason why martial artists struggle with movie martial arts (xma basically) and that's because it wouldn't work

  • in my opinion xma is for awing judges at tournaments and traditonal karate is for real self defense

  • xma is amazing i am in it u cant say xma sucks until you have seen me do it fatty

  • @BowAndAero

Relax, I think they mean from a fighting perspective it sucks (and thus relate it directly to martial arts).

  • O.o holy shit.

  • i did ot know harry potter trained in xma.

  • Doesn't Machida train in XMA?

  • @BongSao1979 nope he trains in actual karate. these guys would get slaughtered in MMA

  • Hmmm, XMA is made for show, it cant be compared martial arts like karate or judo.

  • thats just like me saying

karate and judo are sports....so they cant be compared to wing chun

    and they obviously can

  • I enjoy watching gymnastics and parkour, but neither are called martial arts.

  • looks a lot like tricking....

  • The guy who made this video sucks anus and is a jealous fuck that cant do shit

  • I do enjoy gymnastics and parkour, and i have had 3 official MMA fights, so i sympathize with both the haters and the lovers, and i think my only issue with this xma thing is that they call it a martial art, granted it looks cool and it does take a lot of talent to throw a kick with a flatspin 720, land and then launch yourself into a backflip, i just wish they wouldnt have called it a martial art because its not, but you cannot deny the great athletic skill some of the top performers have

  • @ultraviolentrays

totally agree mate. I do bboy, TMA and MMA.

I value XMAs athletism, but not how they try and brag of their sport is a proper martial art. To me it's a watered down aspect of kung fu movies, wushu and capoeira.

By the way which MA have you done bro.

    For me it's:

MMA - Sanda, JJ, a modern form of street fighting wing chun are my main.

TMA & MA I've tried- shoalin, trad wing chun, choy lee fut, JKD, Chin na, judo, BJJ, wushu, taekido, kickboxing it's all gd.

    Peace bro!

  • @TheBboyplayer08 I've read your posts, and I totally agree with you. I've got alot of respect for XMA athletes (that's why I didnt liked the vid's title), they do amazing things, but this aint nothing of "marcial". Anyway, I think we should let anyone to choose what he likes to do, and respect him for what he does. Peace.

  • sorry who is it saying its a martial art?

    XMA people?

because there is a group of people called trickers that do tricks from XMA, but don't do it to music or anything within the XMA boundaries.

  • @ultraviolentrays it is a martial ART, not combat method

  • @phiphers Well, martial art means art of war. If it is not a combat, then this art is not martial.

  • @Matismatt , well if u see a war poster your don t see an effective way of harming anyone on it necessarily , just as if i mention war art, war sculpture, war painting, war movie, this guys are describing techniques originated to harm, even if they are in a diluted state it still emphasize this purpose in a more pop culture way, their effectiveness of harm is another matter

  • @phiphers I would respectfully disagree. The war painting is a painting, not the war itself. On the other hand, tactical army weapons demonstrations are very much harmful if applied, and praised for effectiveness, not the special effect. What I saw on the video was a special effect, not nearly close to the practical demonstration.

  • @phiphers On second thought, you are also right calling it martial art. After all, they do not demonstrate acrobatic love making ;-)

  • @Matismatt yeah and the things we see ¨martial¨ artists get away with just by adding the word art, its a relief then again not having to register ones hands as lethal weapons and such just to incriminate one self :s, because of the often drilled techs are not lethal as much as knowing how to butcher a fish on the kitchen, or to push someone down the stairs, or even nature given instincts adrenalin strength on moments of danger, even a weight lifter is more dangerous then most martial artists :d

  • wow people...take a chill pill. XMA doesn't suck just because you don't use it to bash someone's head in. there are tons of athletes that play various sports but you don't see some NFL quaterback trashing Labron James cuz he can't throw a 60 yard touch down pass. everything has it's place so stop throwing a hissy fight because "martial arts" is in the name. that being said...the key word should be "arts". No...XMA ISN'T geared for fighting, it's for entertaining and that's exactly what it does.

  • xma is so gay.....

  • people forget XMA is ALL about the showmanship, its not actually ment to be a practical martial art style. So considering that, i recon its pretty dam good.

  • well, some of that is impressive if we consider it to be like gymnastics, but seriously, someone's been watching too many kung fu movies :P

  • uh what was that... lol....

  • XMA sucks!

  • This is as legit a martial art as is pro wrestling

  • Whether this is a performance art that is healthy for you or what, you have to admit that this looks totally silly. Like the outfits.... aluminum foil hakamas? Oh, you are so cool. :)

  • Total agree with you man!

I mean I'll all up for performance arts, but if I was to choose a performance style martial arts. I choose either wushu or capoeira. Something with more MA roots and depth. XMA is just a badly watered down version of those arts, taking in fancy moves from such styles like wushu, capoeira, fancy kicks from tae kwon do & clown em up with featherweight weapons and forms that's just flash trash.

To me is borderline to being cheerleading with kicks and fake weapon.

  • It's called XMA, Xtreme martial arts is right as in xtreme cheesey overdone and watered down.

I mean even though wushu and capoeira do unrealistic moves, at least there is still principle of martial art self defense and history in there.

XMA is just a pile of wank. It's just cheerleading, with kicks. I always ask why do they always do those shit punch combintion where they random punch diagonally, loads of time really fast, but with no power. Is like they are just waving!

  • the song is so perfect where did find it

  • xma is gay

  • lmao i know so fuckin gay

  • @1Mafioso4 "xma is gay" What does XMA stand for? I think these artistic movements look cool. Wish I could do those. Of course, they've nothing to do with fighting, but they still look like fun, you know?

  • @1Mafioso4 Awsome opinion bro.

  • @TndL100 :)

  • Martial arts is not just to have "fun" it's to learn how to protect and preserve your own, these kids seem to have fun , but once they get robbed and stabbed and beaten they'll realize they just wasted their time.

  • Actually, looking at the Bullshido[dot]net vids (the guys who posted this), these guys look much more skilled. lol

  • This is an art of performance not of combat so these kids wouldnt really use this to defend them selves. I practice this but I know other real art forms like boxing, shidokan karate, and the holy cow bjj.

  • I know what everyone is saying this looks impractical as a person who practices this I will admit that I wouldnt do a 720 kick in real life I would fall and get stomped on. This is just a fun activity that has martials arts in it but not a style it is just for showing off and for recreation nothing more. I also know some guys ho practice mma and do xma its just for fun.

  • What does that even mean "it has martial arts in it"?

Does any activity that involves kicking also have soccer in it?

  • Wow if I had a qaurter for every time I posted my views on extreme martial arts then someone comes along and says something about my opinion. So I am going to add more on my statement this time and maybe you will get it maybe not. It is a performance art with a heavy base of martial arts, gymnastics, and dance. You can see that it has martial arts techniques in its forms such as roundhouses, reverse punches, and side kicks. I am done good bye.

  • You didn't answer my question. Does any activity that involves kicking have soccer in it.

I ask because this is the same logic you are employing in saying that XMA has martial arts in it.

  • Okay fine if I say no will this all be over.

  • Please explain to all of us how often any of these people train any of this stuff against FULLY RESISTING OPPONENTS. I'm not concerned with what any of this is based in - my opinion is that it's all dance and choreographing - all I want to know is how often you train this stuff against another student who's trying to do the same thing to you.

  • well I wouldnt really use this stuff in real combat because xma is performance art stuff, and as I said in another statement I wouldnt realy do a 720 kick in real life but if someone did it to me I would beat them down.

  • Just as long as you or anyone else aren't trying to pawn this stuff off as anything but performance art. Once people start calling this choreographed dancing "real martial arts", that's when things get stupid.

  • Omg what an idiot. ITS SUPPOSED SO BE dance and choreography, for shows and performances. it's not supposed to be learned so you can tool someone on the street. that'd be boxing or mma or something.

  • Idiot? How about you READ MY POST. "Just as long as you or anyone else aren't trying to pawn this stuff off as anything but performance art."

I never said one thing about what it's INTENDED TO BE. I was referring to the IDIOTS THAT TRY TO PASS IT OFF AS LEGITIMATE COMBAT SKILLS.

How about you read something completely before you call someone an idiot - fucktard.

  • Most xma schools also teach mma or tkd. Of course it not self defense. It's just fun. Xma allows you to expand your experience in martial arts. And if you look at the xma website it clearly states how it was developed for stunts not self defense. Who ever says it's a waste try out for xma yourself and i bet they wouldn't even be able to do make a team at any xma school in the world. And for the uniforms who cares look around at other marial arts uniforms.
