I remember watching this movie when I was a kid, like 5 yrs old. I loved this song in the start of the movie! And would always dress up as a pirate pretending I was one of those pirates in the song looking for treasure, I was like 5, 7 yrs old at the time though. Good old times! :)

Did you know that the name "two bits" was given to a quarter beacause it was equivalent to two bits of a piece of eight? (I know, I spend too much time at the library) but I love this song! @RedneckYachtClubber The usual method was to carry lots of pistols, throw them away when they were out of ammo and take out another pair. If you look closely at the end you can see the other guns inside his jacket.

@RedneckYachtClubber flintlocks would also normally have a sharp tip on the bottom of the weighted hilt so that once it was fired you would flip it around and use it as a club. which was just as effective as the shot itself because it was only accurate to about 10 feet

this is the definitive 'pirate song'. you know how Mark Twain wrote about Tom Sawyer wanting to be a pirate? that's this. PotC would be 10x better with this song. I noticed that in this song, the monkey says "The Devil himself would have to call him scum" and in the first Pirates of the Caribbean, they talk about the captain of the Black Pearl being "so evil that Hell itself spat him back out." It just seemed like a strange pattern to me.
