  • great looking gun...honestly there is no way in hell i would ever carry a heavy 1911. i own several and they are nice to take to look at and take to the range. with all these new plastic guns coming out the 1911 is just not practical to carry.

  • Pretty nice. I ask the LGS to hold the first one comes into the store. If 10-8 makes sights for it I'll change it out and carry it AIWB.

  • @FateofDestinee Hi ! I've been watching many of yours Shotshow 2012 videos. You do a great job ! It's nice to see a charming girl introducing new features ! Keep going !

    from France

  • CRAP the only Springfield I would buy is a 1911 5 rounds when you could easily get a glock 26 a sig p220 p224 all the same size more or less all in .40 .45 or 9 with double the cap or even a 1911 compact with 6+1 screw that

  • Looks like that might be my next gun.

  • excellent to see a hot ass lady interested in guns :)

  • Hey Destinee, I hope you picked up an XDs for me. Cool review.

  • PPS lost cousin.

  • ★★★★★

    Nice Pistol.

  • Good job with these!

  • Shortest review ever? You should have asked basic question like 1..msrp? 2. Is it Cali legal with mag disconnect and loaded chamber indicator? 3. What's the trigger pull? 4. Available in other colors? 5. Release date? And for the love of god why did you not hold it and dry fire it? And give your opinion on it!!!!

  • im getting me that XDS

  • @azextremesports Me too. I have an XD 45 compact, and I will get this for summer carry. SWEEET!!! I've dreamed of this for quite some time.

  • You've been a busy girl! And oh yeah the gun, a 5 shot, ehhh....not so sure what I think about that.

  • @SLILitchfield if you need more than 5 rounds of .45acp , get more range time, or stay home , or start carying a knife instead ...

  • @0GUNAR0MAGNI0 LOL!!

  • Bravo for the short reviews!

  • Cali Legal??

  • Five rounds. Better make them count.

  • @sel36 You shouldn't be anywhere near one if you can't..

  • I love your short clip reviews, you are doing a great job

  • Great job Des on the short on the spot reviews, it's fun to follow you around at SHOT, keep 'em coming!

  • @FateofDestinee Sweet vid, can't wait to see if S&W follows the lead.

  • @lyons55X an inch longer, three quarters of an inch taller and two tenths of an inch wider across the slide

  • @lyons55X the glock is bigger significantly in every dimension but weight.

  • i want one in 9mm that will hold 7 or more

  • You're doing great.

  • 5 rounds is plenty of power.

If you haven't hit your attacker after 5 rounds he's probably killed you by then whether you have more ammo in more gun or not

  • I cant believe they only made it 5 rounds! You would think they would make it a six rounder so that it would be more comparable against the G36. I dont think that was a very smart move by S.A.

  • only 5 rounds really, uh no, sorry i'd rather have a revolver or 1911 if im going the single stack low round count route

  • Hmmm. I think I need one of these.

  • I think Im gonna go to shot show next year. I know a few people from YT and not from YT that will go with.

  • Man ! A lot of You Tube channels are at the Shot Show.

  • please tell me they will make this gun in all mayor calibers later on

  • @MyLastSiege They will make this gun in all major calibers later on. .40 S&W next, and then 9mm Luger/Parabellum later.

  • They will sell a lot of these 45's for sure.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • Cool. I'm a fan of most .45 pistols. :-D

  • Don't like this pistol.

  • My Ultra Carry weighs 2 ounces less empty then the 29oz empty weight of the XDs and holds 2 extra rounds. The XD subcompacts are thicker than the service and tactical models in the slide area and heavier then they need to be. SA needs to stop importing these from Croatia and start making them in-house.

  • So sexy.

The chick was pretty good looking too.

  • Thanks for showing it D!

Gonna have to pass on a 5 round .45 at that size and weight... the only market for this is gonna be die hard .45 fanatics that wear shorts or skirts alot.

  • ya cant go wrong with a 45

  • what does S&W have?

  • @NightStalkerZero3 It's a single stack compact XDm 45, so it has the same trigger, it's striker fired so no hammer or decocker. It has a grip and trigger safety.

  • 29oz! I'll take an alloy frame 1911 commander and suck up the extra 1oz XD

  • Ok, all I got was a peak and yes I got excited!!!

  • 5 rounds? wat

  • I will have to pass on this one I was expecting a bit more. 5 round magazine thumbs down,29oz another thumbs down.

  • Sig sauer .45 c3 is the sizzel

  • Meh...I like the Sig P938 a heck of a lot better. I'm sorry but 5 rounds of .45 ACP in a gun that weighs 29 ounces EMPTY is nothing intriguing to me. If I wanted a single stack .45 then I would get a Glock 36 which is lighter and holds an extra round.

  • Seems like a pretty significant chunk of metal for a little single stack 5 round setup.

  • Oh, and give them a female point of view. Does it fit your hand well? Interesting Kimber did a fancy color. Females are starting to be a larger segment of consumers and I'm sure they (and your viewers) would like your feedback for a female perspective. I'm a product designer and just trying to help you get the most out of your first show.

  • Fate, I've been in your shoes and trying to question vendors for info. Not sure if you are trying to just get quick vids or if you are nervous about asking questions. Here is a tip, when you are in your room, make up a list of questions that you want to ask for each type of vendor; rifle, pistol, knife, etc. Doesn't have to be a ton but make sure you get the basics. And if you see something you don't like, mention it as well. The vendors are hoping for your feedback as well. Good or bad. Cheers

  • Nice gun, what a little piggy in the weight department though, I think i'll stick to my 5 shot sp101 357 magnum.

  • What type of trigger, hammer, safety does it have and is there a decocker?

  • @FateofDestinee is that a CCW holster or just range hoster that ships with that ?

is that a right side slide release only or can it be moved to left?

  • what's the ''s'' in XDs? stainless?

  • @87971045 Single stack.

  • @echang86

Oh i see... thanks man. Appreciate it.

  • Not for me, but whatever floats your boat.

  • Will check it out tomorrow. I am going for the next 2 days.. so I have a whole lot to see. Thanks for the video.. wanted to go down there today but had too much to do.

  • hmm...Kimber,Nano and now an XDs....Ill take one of each TY :)

  • too heavy and not enough rounds cap... make sure you go to the Glock booth

  • Wow, great videos. Keep them coming for those of us who couldn't be there. Thank-you!

  • Glock 36 is 1.13 inches wide, this is .90. It holds 5 and not 6 because they didn't use an extended base plate like Glock does. The XDS is right in line with Kahr's PM9 size and capacity, plus it is just slightly thinner and shorter. I'll buy one as soon as my dealer can grab it! I'd take an XD over a Glock any day of the week. Glocks have too much unnecessary slide thickness esp. in the .45 models.

  • Meh... Go to Rifle Dynamics's booth... get your hands on some AK goodness. Lol

  • Doing a great job, Destinee. Hey, don't forget to check out the breakfast buffet at the Paris Hotel. Keep up the good work!

  • Be awesome if it used 1911 mags

  • Looks like a nice slimed down design !

  • I carry my les baer s.r.p 1911 that is how i roll =)

  • definitely not 29 oz.... that would be too heavy

  • 5 rounds what the !?#*$

  • @boonedogger ...single stack compact .45....

  • people, quit spazzin' out about the weight..it's made in Croatia for god's sake and everybody knows that they struggle with conversion tables.

  • @achigurh Best comment ever!!!!!!!!! lololol

  • I prefer my SIG P220 compact SAS- thank you!

  • dittos to Solingen1000, 5 rounds is silly. A j frame S&W well do just fine. Destinee your vids from shot show are really short? less than 60 seconds. I prefer quality over quantity on the vids. I would of liked to hear more about what Springfield had this year. Same goes for the brief Kimber video.

  • @12gn12 It's not easy to video anything at a trade show like SHOT, unless you've got an experienced news crew to help keep it together. I'm sure Destinee is discovering that you've got a thousand people always wanting to be exactly right where YOU'RE at, and it's hard enough to hold a conversation let alone make a half-decent 1-2 minute video.

Then you go back to the hotel after a long day of walking, edit on a laptop and upload over a slow connection. I guarantee you'd make short videos too!

  • nomas 5 tiros -__-

  • Never heard of this one before. I'm a big fan of the XD/XDM pistols. Don't know if I'll be checking this one out. Just got the 3.8 compact .45 and its totally awesome. Thanks for another great clip Des!

  • my rule...if a semi auto can only hold 6 rounds...leave it and carry a revolver

  • Cool! Looks like a cool gun for CCW!

  • If you have seen this gun shoot... The 29oz would cut ally make sense when you see the recoil.

  • To be honest it is one of the most boring guns this whole year. A number of other brands have had their own versions out of this already. Just what we need another compact poly pistol :)

  • Only A 5 round mag, geez I bet its prolly same size as my Glock 36 .45acp with a 6 round Mag!!

  • Seems like it should be lighter, i'll still check it out though.

  • @556DOS45 i hope ur joking, if not than fuck you dude get a life and/or a girlfriend so you can learn some respect. and if you were joking no hard feelings

  • @MrUSA96 LMAO

  • That looks pretty slick.

  • Springfield.....my fav polimer gun....love

  • Im guessing the woman got that whole 29oz thing wrong. Thats more than my full size Sig P250 with a 4.7'' barrel and 17 round mag!

  • @556DOS45 Springfield rep at range also on YouTube quotes 29oz too.

  • @ATB042 kool. weight is a good thing when it comes to shooting the .45acp!

so the XDs .45 might be a shooter at 29 ounces!

but the 5 round mag is a deal breaker for me :-(

  • @556DOS45 now that i think of it.... 29oz for a .45 is a good thing. with the .45 you want some heft to your gun to manage recoil.

my 30oz Para Ordnance Hawg had an aluminum frame and was punishing to shoot more than 50 rounds at a time.

looks like the XDs .45 might be a shooter!

    but 5 round mag... really?

  • Jeez, the original xd is only 27 oz.which holds 10 rnds which is the same weight as my FULL SIZE Glock 20 that holds 15! Seems like a step in the wrong direction. I try so hard to like xd, but....

  • @TribTrekker True, my FNP-45(what I consider my HEAVY pistol) holds 15 .45's, and is 32 oz........ How did it get HEAVIER when the XDM-45 compact is lower, holding 9? Weird, must be wrong, Springfield has in the past OVERSTATED weight's, my XDM-40 4.5 is supposed to weigh 32 oz according to some S.A. literature I read, think it's 25oz-27oz w/empty mag. Probably another typo in their literature that she just repeated, it happens. But why didn't they make it a 6+1 to compete w/Glock 36?

  • @reeseman67 Yup. Could be a miss statement on her part. But I know XD"s are too heavy for their size. My brother has one of the first XD .45 compacts, and holding it in one hand and my Glock 20 in the other, they feel the same. To me it defeats the purpose of a compact carry, if I have to cinch up my belt to support the weight of a full size gun. I just downloaded the xd catalog from Springfield, and though the XDS isn't there, the XD sub is 26 oz and holds 10 .40 cal. We'll see....

  • we have been wanting this pistol for a very long time.

  • for people who want more than 6 or a dbl stack they have the xdm 45 that has 1 +9 small mag or 1+13 with ext...

I think Springfield was smart making one a single stack as a option...

  • Thanks for up loading!!!

  • A single stack polymer pistol? Not sure I can get behind that. Weight isn't an issue. Maybe i'll take a look at them once they hit the local stores

  • 5 round mag ? check out the PARA booth and the new ION Bond finish.14 rounds of 45 18 rounds of 9mm good looking stuff

  • @scprepper55 this is a single stack... they have a dbl stack that has a higher count.. hell their normal xdm hold 20 9mm...

  • XDS...PPS? Come on Springfield, come up with an original name. xD

  • Glad to see you're having fun! Enjoy.

  • beautiful smile :)....the gunz cool too

  • That's kind of heavy. What did she say 29 oz, yeah that's waaaaayyyy to heavy.

  • @saigaish It has to be less than 29 oz, an empty service model is only 30 oz... I would expect at least low 20's to high teen's from a gun like this.

  • MAJOR EXCITEMENT!!!!!!! I had that idea YEARS AGO!! Finally!! YEs yes YEs

  • The barrel length looks good, glock 19-ish, which suits me fine, just wish the grip was a bit longer, to accommodate another round or two. 6+1 or 7+1 would make this MUCH more attractive to me. Thanks for the vid, Destinee!

  • 29 oz's ? That is the weight of a full size glock ???

  • Thanks for the vid. Trying to see the advantage over the Glock 36, but can't unless you just hate Glocks and want another option for a compact single stack 45acp. Too bad they couldn't squeeze one more round in there maybe even dare I say 7+1, but I know they ae trying to keep the size down.

  • Thanks Destinee! I wish someone would show the damn pistol w/the empty mag loaded and not cover up the damn thing w/their gigaantic hands!

  • Gonna be checking that pistol out for sure!

    Peace

  • Sweet review. Geneseo, IL is about 20 minutes from me. I'd love to tour the factory!

  • Are we going to see any videos of you gambling ?

  • only 5 rounds? =/
