  • PEARL JAM >:D YEAH!!!!!

  • @2morebills the grunge seen over shadowed these great band as mainstreamers just for the @ajscitco90 money and calling the GRUNGE nirvana didn't do it for the riches its just he was lucky with timing when he got in and hes talented but for u to bringing money into it was stupid.campairing em to $ people made not even in the same time in history is stupid so ya my spelling is grammer poor but your mind and heart is corrupted

if u dont wanna be a father, then, i dont wanna be ur daughter

  • i hate when my ''father'' calls me daughter

he doesnt talk to me never, all day long, then, say, daughter, good night

im like ''dude, dont even call me that, u dont desirve it

  • we grunge people should join together, start a fucking band and take over the world once again!!

  • @ouchinmypants That's a big fuckin band...

  • I think the line is "Young girl, violence, centre of her own attention."

...rather than "Young girl, violins, centre of her own attention." LOL

  • goddo

  • @TAG037 WTF?! XD awsome dude

  • Sometimes when I'm home alone, I like to rub myself with Vaseline and pretend I'm a slug

  • @TAG037 You too? Thought it was only me.

  • i'm sorry replay button for raping you like 50 times, the song was just so good i couldn't help myself.

  • Late 80's*

  • @ItsssCayla what? lol

  • @ov3rturn I completely agree. If its not horrible singing and auto tune it's useless lyrics. I would give up anything and everything to be alive in the late 90's and through the 90's.

  • 30 people don't know what decent music is!

  • i wish music today was this good and had meaning. today's music is all about partying and getting loads of money. music doesnt come with heart anymore :(

  • @Ov3rturn It can,if you want it.

  • @Ov3rturn Your thinking of Rap/Pop Music/RnB...You can right music, with real instruments and occasionally right a party song that has meaning,...but noone does it...If this music was "popular" like Rick Ross and Wakka Flakka Faggot, violent crime would go down lol.,,,,I just dont get how ppl relate to that garbage...Unless your in prison.

  • @shaddowmoses9 Very few people are original nowadays.. and pretty much just listen to whats on the radio instead of looking for something they actually might. i dont see how people relate to that shit either.. i mean its not like rappers are out in the streets dealin and shootin, which is what theyre usually rapping about. there fake and have no talent.

  • @9903469 I agree! People can't stand the fact that I listen to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Garbage, Hole, and all these rock bands all because they "can't understand the words" and you "can't move your hips". Music isn't just about moving your hips, it's the lyrics, the structure of the music. Songs like this one has a meaning and it's great! But unfortunately, my generation (I'm 18) will never give this music a chance, since they enjoy Lil Wayne and Lady Gaga way too much to care! Burns me up!

  • @TylerMusicBoi same here im only 13 but i love this stuff always have but no 1 els does

  • @MrCossie12 there a lot of people who still listen to this you know nirvana and pearl jam still sell a million records a year music just diverse theres still bands as raw as grunge that are out there and going platinum you just have to look beyond mtv and vh1 to find them

  • @TylerMusicBoi Amen.

  • @TylerMusicBoi music goes like that man grunge was considered underground rubish in the 80s grunge was a county cultrue to the hair metal movement that was going on just like the new alternative scenes in philly and new jersey

  • @TylerMusicBoi and another thing kurt cobain made the most money the other year out of all the dead celebs more than elvis john lennon and 2pac combined theres still a big audience out there for alternative rock like I said you have to get into the underground fanzines and stuff right now the mainstream sucks but the underground is brewing just like it was in the 80's in seattle

  • @ajscitco90 @ajscitco90 lol u seriously think he mad more then elvis alone do u know the value of 5$ today?and the value of a 1950 5$ whats the diff in this these 2-5 can u tell me,because elvis made both an will feature.I was around for the grunge, and this post is taking a shit on kurt, dont ever compare our fallen icon/hero's by bringing in money worst thing u can to in music,go to a hip hope page, especially lennon with beats an kurt apart of musical movements that allway overshadow them

  • @2morebills dude you need to check your reading comprhension and wtf does the value of money in 50 have to do with anything the kid said that barely no one listens to music like this anymore so to make a point I used some facts that out of all the top dead celebs lennon elvis 2pac Kurt made the most revenue that means he sold the most records and shit meaning there is still a huge crowd for alternative because the top bands still sell many records a year you totally didn't comprehend

  • @ajscitco90 well damn i still did mad the same mistake but im hi and if you mad the mistake and thought what i thoughtand u downed me me but ya i understand music can live one in the great hearts of fan just cause the gerations change my bad man my life is music just gets me through shit and your right i misread you statement big time thought u were say who mad most between them.really sorry happens alot cause im a strung out.

  • twice!!! at that, and some spelling i messed "music can live on"just because "generations change"* your* saying* made* lol i really get into typing, and botch it a lot and never use spell check and all

  • @ajscitco90 I've heard a lot about the underground and how good it is but I can never seem to find artists in the underground like grunge or punk rock... what are some good sites/artists to look up?

  • @Ov3rturn Start a band, do music the way it should be.

    Only solution

  • @Ov3rturn In general I agree, but it really depends on what your listening to.

  • @Ov3rturn I agree i want my daughter to have a good music generation of her own that song with meaning in them shes only 18 months she has a chance, there are some good stuff today i like aeon of stained personally, people tel me hes writes to dressing of songs but those are what he is expressing in meaning and heart people need music for fun and for cooling off,for the bad days and the good.cheers rock on

  • Actually when it was first written it was changed from " brother " to " daughter" and about bringing awareness to learning disabilities, as these kids were Being beaten, because their parents are none the wiser and just assumed it was misbehavior

  • deer god thank u for sending pearl jam to us from heaven

  • This is such a good song.

  • Dear tony...... (birth father)

  • Ok, so when did people become such low lifes that they have nothing better to do then argue over youtube! Grow the fuck up and listen to the damn music! Much appreciated(:

    Oh and LOVE this song<3

  • So would anyone be kind enough to tell me what this song is about? All I hear is that something is wrong and someone doesn't feel worthy for a title.

  • @UltimegaSeven google the wiki article on this song has an explanation. tl'dr it's about a young girl with a learning disability abused because of perceived misbehavior.

  • @AllxSizexPro

    sar·casm/ˈsärˌkazəm/

Noun: The use of irony to mock or convey contempt.

    Synonyms: irony

  • Oh lordy. A petty argument over something that was probably a listless comment in the beginning.

Whatever happened to STFU and listen to the damn music?

  • @GirtheAlienGoldfish Im a huge fan of your opinions and facts dude!!!

Glad you love Real music :D Like pearl jam and grunge!

Also, FUCK BVB AND EMO KIDS! haha

  • @manhuntruler2 My fan! *wipes tear from eye*

lol Pearl Jam has many fond memories associated with them. I am a big fan.

  • im more into slipknot and KoRn but this is a pritty good song

  • i LOVE this song SO much

  • I am a teenager who listens to pearl jam.

Therefore, I am better than you. I am more cultured, more moral, more intelligent, wiser, richer, and better looking. I can also write a better resume, juggle more balls than you can, and can go for a whole year using just one roll of toilet paper.

Also, my electric bills are lower, and my computer is faster than yours. I feel really sorry for all you 30-something saps who were actually around when this stuff was written. I am obviously superior.

  • @mixify1 i'm 14, and your just a FAG!

  • Im a 90 with dementia. yesterday i was 54 , the day before 12 the day after that 25 the day after that 35 the day after that 372. but i always love pearl jam

  • @357daedalus Your statment makes no sense.I take it english is not your first launguage?

  • @BCShimDaddy The following are corrected errors found in your sentences: You're*, Statement*, need a space after a period*, English* (capitalization), you're* (again), language*

I English your first language, bro? lol, sorry, but you were asking for it there.

  • @SpiritofdaRadio HAhahahaha.

i steal Iphones. Then smash them.Just doing my part for the good of this great Nation.

  • @SpiritofdaRadio You are an idiot, you're means, you are, @BCShimdaddy said your, as in its your possession, your statement, it wouldnt make sense if he said, "you are statement makes no sense" which indeed it does. haha, your a complete failure and a faggot! ;)

  • @BCShimDaddy Wow hahahaha.

  • @BCShimDaddy LOL!!! I shove bluetooth ear pieces up peoples asses.

  • @MrDarwinrules Thats a bit much my friend, you must respect your fellow humans.

Destroy bluetooth but dont damage peoples asses.unless it's a woman and its consenual.

  • @BCShimDaddy Thank you for your guidence.

  • im a fetus and i like pearl jam.

  • @timzy868 fuck yeah, you just wait right there. I'm gonna go get my coathanger.

  • What I don't understand is how you kids don't understand that it's not that us old,say like 45 year old people used to be 15 or 16 or whatever and we rocked some of the best music on this planet....I know kids are more creative than this "I'm this old" shit. Who do you think was that guy wearin those blue jeans with hole, chuck taylors, army jacket and hair down to my ass, going to see bands like AC/DC, Scorpions,Sabbath,Maiden, Van Halen. Say something original besides your age

  • @tribbleville Dude I dig what you're saying but no one needs to hear about your ass

  • @muvverkitz butt

  • And i meant Sumerian not Babylonian, but i did move to Babylon and lived there for for about 2000 years, longest period stayed in one place.

  • I meant 4500 years old, sorry, i forget my age sometimes you know, lol.

  • I am 2500 years old, and this song is better than the drum beats i heard in Ancient Babylon.

  • I wonder how many people just make up stories on how old they are or there situation to see if they can get the top rated comment

    p.s. i don't give a shit

  • yeah....it's not a carnival....any age can ride this awesome music.

  • i don't understand why it fucking matters how old you are and feel like you're the world's most special snowflake because you were born after this song is made and just so happen to like it. why can't you just comment on how much you love the music instead of stating shit that is completely irrelevant. Well, i have always loved pearl jam and i always will. i couldn't get this song out of my head today (i don't mind that lol), so i decided to listen to it right now :)

  • @imanegativecreepx I'm with you, who cares what age you are!!! if you like pearl jam your a part of the greatest group alive hahaha

  • @pat8977 Lol, I'm only 16. And a girl.

  • To think it was originally called father

  • My favorite Pearl Jam song. Cool :)

  • Yes! Smashin' Amsterdam on 27 July with Pearl Jam!

  • kewl lil tune

  • I don't wish this on anyone

  • One of my daughters is mildly autistic, I've only found out this week. I already loved this song but it really strikes a chord now. She is, like her older sister, an absolute joy, although a different personality, and on reflection, reminds me a lot of myself at that age. Listening to it again, it's helped me appreciate the situation with a little better perspective.

  • @howdenender What symptoms of her's made you suspect something was wrong?

  • @saltjunkie77 None! It was her mother that picked up on it, I was oblivious. Like I said, its only very mild, and a recent change of school has brought a great improvement. Better environment, happier kid.

  • Peal Jam IS THE BOMB!!!!

  • word to your mother!

  • Animal Collective kicks the shit out of the 90s bands.

  • @JBrrou shut up fag, they're both good

  • @JBrrou yeahhh why are you listening to this then?

  • the son lost aduaghtrr and a wife oh well he still stands with his king convics in to a all american family i dont think so fuck you cant even see my children jesus terrible sister hillary from a man that loves children

  • I can say I will never understand this album cover.

  • @scotsblubabe That my good friend, is a lamma....

  • @colorinthemoon llama

  • is there a version that goes "dont call me brother"?? my boy sed thats how it goes but i cant find it

  • @UptownCoalitionEnt The song was originally called "Brother". So I'm sure there is a Demo out there somewhere with Eddie saying brother instead. If u watch the new Pearl Jam Documentary PJ20 it actually shows Eddie and and Mike playing this song early on, in a bus with him saying brother. Hope that helps :)

  • hey everyone! im a sperm and i love this shit! -.-

  • one of the great song!!

  • became a fan of pearl jam today :)

  • @wwechampion778 Welcome to a world of awesomeness!

  • wow music is REAL!

  • Haha violins

  • I played this song at my pet turtle Sir Flufalopogis's funeral. He was a brave son of a bitch. Sadly my cat ate him then decided to leave him in a shit in the litterbox.......We buried that piece of poo proudly.

  • According to "Word Of Ed", the learning disability story is right - it was the mother and the abuse was physical and emotional rather than sexual. As for the meaning of specific lyrics, I'm sure Ed would agree that's for you to decide.

  • mr timmyj40, i cant anser ur question but i know im a gentle man, so are all the people of comments ive read here, we love you pearl jam x )

  • It's difficult to read the lyrics. The song is good, forever

  • im 16 but this is what i grew up listening to. my dad played me and my brother pearl jam, pink floyd, neil young, bruce springsteen, so much. my dad has passed down being a deadhead, and every year i take jerry garcias death hard, and i was only 4 months old, thats how i grew up, which i am proud of. while people are going to rihanna and justin bieber concerts, im going to bruce springsteen and furthur. people my age dont understand, i think we all need to be more open minded about this stuff.

  • @musicsk8lovereapeat

sounds like you have a cool dad!

  • @musicsk8lovereapeat i had a very similar upbringing. i was also raised on the dead. all the live music that i have seen has really shaped me as a musician into something that i would otherwise not be. it is probably the reason why years later i took up the bass. i am eternally grateful for that experience. be proud of where you came from and what you represent. because you are better for the experience, and you have something that not many people can attest to.

  • @contrabass20 Yeah, same here except I took up the trout.

  • @musicsk8lovereapeat I recently met a freshman girl who said she was a big fan of led zeppelin, me being a huge fan myself I tested her. we ended up singing a couple songs together and dropping names and sample lyrics. turns out she is a good fan. She's into similar bands as well, such as some you listed (i havn't heard of a couple so thanks for the intro to them) so we have the younger generation carrying on rock, but they're getting fewer each generation. LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL

  • @musicsk8lovereapeat

THESE MUSICS ARE ONLY FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE,

  • @musicsk8lovereapeat Music now adays is like movies. They'll keep pumping out the same auto tuned crap as long as 13-24 year old girls keep paying for it. Amazing how rock stations play bands that are 60 years old to 1 year old, whereas most everything on the "Today's hit music" station is never older than a year. It's crap, that's why people forget about it so quickly.

  • @musicsk8lovereapeat I completely agree. I'm 18, and I love all this older music. This is true music. I've always loved this stuff and hope that my kids do too. I feel like the music you listen to shapes you into the kind of person it kinda describes. It makes sense, cuz it'd help describe why so many people our age are kinda messed up and don't have their priorities in check.
