It was actually quite hot that day and after about 4 hours, I was ready to head off. It was also a little pricey to get into the Australian Garden, but I'll probably check it out down the track. I believe they are still adding to it as well, and it should be fully complete soon. Regarding taking photos, I always ask first, and generally it's okay as long as it's not for commercial purposes.

Always best to ask, I agree. Love to find the free entry places as yes, I agree some places are getting too x'y for the little guy and his family.

More of the Garden inside ie the Australian Garden, the Childrens Garden and so on...were you not allowed to take the camera in?
I love the difference between the two Botanical Gardens ie the formal of the Royal in the city and the Aussie flavor out there at Cranbourne.
