As it's being sung in the original Portuguese, the title of the song is "Começar de Novo." "The Island" is the name of the song with (really lame) English lyrics.

Ivan Lins used to sing much better but as far as I know he got over a very serious illness which must have unfluenced his singing skills. Nevertheless, he has always been one of my favourite Brasilian singers. People who might have never heard him sing on his early CDs may feel disappointed listening to this recording but if someone wants to learn about Ivan Lins' singing proficiency, they may look for his recordings from before his illness and I can assure them that they will love his voice!!

@somiberico Hi, feeling is really important and that is what Ivan Lins always displayed in his earlier recordings. Maybe it is unjust to upload files which can spoil the artist's image and show them when they are not at the peak. None of us want other people to notice our weaknesses, do we?

Dunno what illness you are speaking of but he never evidenced any problems and his voice was strong and he was in great form when I heard him at Yoshi's SF last Friday 9/2/11. He had the Mexican brothers rhythm section from Sacbe and his Uraguayan guitarist - names too hard to spell. Audience participation was a given. No criticism about this brilliant musician is necessary. He's a grandfather of 5 now and grayer and still has his mojo!

Oh, this musicians are amazing, but there was no reason for the pianist to be the singer, he's not good at all, a shame, since everything else is top notch.
