Could you send me an email, I am trying to get my vacuum lines back how they should be on my 232 powered 800b. Finally found a vac/fuel pump:) and need a little help with the vac routing. I hope you still have this truck!
im a ford guy, but ill have to admit, the whole point of a scout is the drivetrain, id hate to put fords down, but i dont think a scout with a ford drivetrain wouldnt be anywhere near as "capable" as a stock scout . thats just my opinion ...but heres a fact internationals are the best offroad... and ford is second...
these scouts are nice, neighbor has one n he'll give it 2 me 4 free but it needs A LOT of work, i dont know if its worth fixing it up. maybe a project. because i imagine the parts are expensive
Scouts, or IH's in general are always worth fixing, they run forever and have a bad ass affect because they are 'the other truck brand'. Yea, some parts like the brake drums are hard to find (that is what the internet is for) but you can always figure out a way to jerry rig it, i.e. going to disc brakes.
Do you want to sell the Scout?

Great looking Scout. I also have a 71 800B that i'm restoring. It has the slant 196 instead of the inline 6 though.

It's not that parts are necessarily expensive, its finding parts for these trucks is where the problem is... I know, I own two of them.
