@GoodnightTechnology nice video bro! looks like 48 was made for u. fit u very well. just ignore all the negative comment, only those stupid/jealous/idiot n etc will give the comment with bad words. jealous! anyway how tall are u?? i guess around six feet? n with that tank full with gas how long can u go? constant ride 100km per hour how long can u go?
I am 5'6 and this is the bike I'm saving for. I have to get the seat pushed forward and the handlebars rolled back a little. Other than that I love it and can't wait.
Great bike! Sweet sound! Though I think older riders need to strive more to feature in their videos fully equipped, Think new riders would do well to learn from more experienced riders wearing the right kit!
But again, sick bike, and thanks for the vid' of her!
I sat on this bike at my local dealer. It's is bad-ass. If your tall like me (6'5") you will have more then enough room on this bike and not feel like your riding a toy, it's very beefy and mean.
I love that harley sound! Did you do anything else besides exhaust and chip?? Like bore kid or anything to give it that unique sound?? Im guessing the exhaust had alot to do with it.
I was a bit worried about the size of the 48 ... but it felt okay on a test-ride. I´m around 6' too. Anyway it´s hard to get one in germany at the moment. All sold out!
@MrToonfish I think that doing wheelies w/o a helmet, even low speed ones is ridiculously idiotic. I think that riding fast w/o a lid is stupid as there is so much uncontrollable risk there. However I think riding fast JUST wearing a t-shirt jeans and helmet is stupid too. So you have to practise risk assessment. I think that provided this guy's a good rider, riding around town at 40mph is not that unsafe. I think the ppl who go on the highwy sans lid are stupid. Most r posing anyway
Hi thanks for the post, quick question, by any chance do you know if this bike is suitable for a short person, because Im 5'3 and I really love this bike.
@TheCreeper714 Dude, you can always get a reach seat. That should give you all you need. I'm 5'6 and face the same issue. Don't forget your boots will give you some reach as well. I Love this bike and will get it very very soon. Southern California will never be the same.
@mnmadmike I don't know. I'm only 5'8" (32 inseam) and it seems small to me. Even with the forward controls. Of course I'm use to riding my friends Road Glide on occasion.
@RipCarBuggy42 no it was tuned in this video. i recommend the harley tuner vs the power commander. i had issues with my power commander blowing out the ecu on the bike
Hey I sent u a message a few weeks back I have about the same set up as you nut anyways about a week ago my bike started to idle really high when I started it and it never did that before, can't figure out how to fix it and I'm talking real high like 3000 rpm or more, any ideas how to fix it
@Gotwood2002 if you have a power commander on their try and disconnect it and see if this changes your issue. i think sometimes those end up faulting out. i actually had the same issue before
This looks like a pretty sweet bike, you look like you're really enjoying it. I'm torn between the Forty-Eight and the Iron 883. Definitely dig the fat front tire on the Forty-Eight, does it help with the handling?
how the position is for long travel ? iam long road rider in france, i have to decide between nighster and forty eight , btw i know forty eigh got a leattle peanutt and it cost more € :)
Hey I've got shortshots, se heavy breather and power commander v, was just wondering if you end up with popping when you let off the throttle. Normal?
@NOESCAPE29 You won't get bored of its size.. its an awesome beast to ride.. and I have the short shots and heavy breather.. it just sounds awesome. However the first thing you'll want to do is throw some progressive 440's in the rear and upgrade to a better seat. You won't get more than 25 miles on the highway before you're absolutely shot and sore. It rides like a hard tail. Looks bad ass though.
@dathomaz I had two friends ride my 48 this weekend, both roughly 6'2". The bike is small but the riding position actually doesn't make it look like you're drawfing the bike. I wouldnt' say you're to tall, they didn't look goofy.
@dathomaz I have some friends who live in the Netherlands. That is the perfect country for a harley 48.. cruise through Rotterdam/Amsterdam, then through the scenic highways and hills/greenery.. i would love to ship my 48 to Amsterdam and ride it everywhere. You're a lucky man!
are these bikes comfortable at all? They look great but you also hunched over. Don't think I'd wanna ride wanna these longer than an hour. What do you think?
@ScatMan103 Its OK with the regular bars like those. Im actually picking one up soon, and was at the dealer the other day. They had one with baby apes on it. Its freaking amazing. The slight height difference in the bars makes your butt sit a bit more forward, and the bike felt perfect.
Hey man, really like the sporty . Great job ! I could have been interested in the bike, but distance is a problem.... I'm curious about your newest project... I'm thinking to put bub sidecutters Black Ceramic Staggered on my Iron. Do you have an idea if these will be less loud compared to V&H shortshots (both with quite baffles). Your feedback is much appreciated.
@kevbayliss You traded a high end Rocker C for a low end sportster? please tell me the logic in that! Although I love the sporters and they are the only HD I ride. I Dig this bike, had it been out in 09 I wouldnt have bought an Iron!
@DoubleDTB its a quick bike for how little it is... but I would not call it fast. I have a ducati that I ride a lot and that is really fast. This is no place in that realm but for a sportster its fast. Harley isnt really known for fast... but as far as driving its a very fun bike.
At some point Harley started useing the XR series cams in ALL 1200 sportsters, so that's a full blown race cam, plus the 1200s are high compression. I just read a magazine article about how the sportster is the fastest harley. More power to weight than any other model (I don't know anout the VROD, or CVO bikes?)
Personally, I ride a 883 and it's pretty fast. 883s have lower compression and mild cams and I can do 90mph up hill in 5th gear on the interstate, passing big twins.

@PublicFilthSpeeks - public fuckwit more likely !!! "tattoos are for posers" . . . you sound like a grade 5 schoolgirl . . . . public filth barely "speeks", jackass !!!
Nice ride but put a skid plate on that noggin of yours! Between cell phones, people texting and driving and people who generally think the world revolves around their four wheeled cage-mobile, you really are putting your best component on that bike at risk.... Wear the shell...don't a paint the road! Other that..awesome ride on Route 62, Algonquin, IL.
@silviesoul111 but just not when the entire world is watching.. spend a couple bux on a helmet and skip the next tattoo you poser... tattoos are for posers!!
come on! good vid man! i love the 48, the front tire without fender looks great!, the tank job is really original, i would like to see the exhausts... nice helmet!!!! jeje
@GoodnightTechnology Loving that 48. It's the opposite of what I ride but I appreciate the bike. I had the chance to ride my other 'dream' twins recently - a 696, 796 Hyper and Monster 1100, I'd love to catch a ride on something a bit more primitive - and that's a what I love about Harley. Let's face it - Italian is beautiful but the New World is raw. The Harley never pretends to be something it isn't - and that makes it authentic.
Love that bike, gotta be the coolest non-custom Sportster ever. Silly question, but: How tall are you? I'm thinking about getting one myself, but I fear the bike might look too small with me on it, even though I'm only around 1,80m (~5''11) tall.
are the baffles removed in this vid? i love the sound but would be reluctant to drill out the baffles on a brand new set of pipes. looks really good without the front fender too!
@bmb7198 yes they are removed in this video. its actually way louder than it seems in this video. if you can imagine this is still sort of loud on a cell phone video from a moving car. the baffles on the V&H pipes can be removed with just one bolt. if you hate it you can put them back in
@GoodnightTechnology really?? that just put a big smile on my face lol. yea that beast is loud as hell in your other vid of it parked in the street. loving the sound.
yeah i like it a lot. i have a ducati also but end up riding this 99% of the time. depends what kind of bike your a used to for sure. right now the 48s seem kind of hard to find at the dealers around chicago so they were not cutting deals really. probably pay full price on them would be my guess or close to it

1SaG, I own the "48" also and I'm 5'11 185 lbs and I don't look too big for the bike. If you like it buy. Don't worry about others. Ride on!

Love that bike, gotta be the coolest non-custom Sportster ever. Silly question, but: How tall are you? I'm thinking about getting one myself, but I fear the bike might look too small with me on it, even though I'm only around 1,80m (~5''11) tall.

Bike looks perfect. It fits you well, like it was built to carry you.

are the baffles removed in this vid? i love the sound but would be reluctant to drill out the baffles on a brand new set of pipes. looks really good without the front fender too!
bmb7198 1 year ago
@bmb7198 yes they are removed in this video. its actually way louder than it seems in this video. if you can imagine this is still sort of loud on a cell phone video from a moving car. the baffles on the V&H pipes can be removed with just one bolt. if you hate it you can put them back in
GoodnightTechnology 1 year ago
@GoodnightTechnology really?? that just put a big smile on my face lol. yea that beast is loud as hell in your other vid of it parked in the street. loving the sound.
bmb7198 1 year ago
yeah i like it a lot. i have a ducati also but end up riding this 99% of the time. depends what kind of bike your a used to for sure. right now the 48s seem kind of hard to find at the dealers around chicago so they were not cutting deals really. probably pay full price on them would be my guess or close to it
GoodnightTechnology 1 year ago
Looks good, congrat! I am thinking of getting one, are you satisfied with the bike? What's the price that I should expect to pay at the dealer? Thk
